Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

  1. Recently via Agoda or with the hotel site directly. Internet of course. As I said, they are AC rooms by default. The hotel information says something like..... That is directly off the hotel site, the fact you haven't seen it means you haven't looked. When I stay in town these days I like to stay at the Thai Garden Resort. Under 'Standard Room' it says and thermostat controlled air-conditioning. Hence I am booking an AC room. But I prefer their Holiday Bungalows, if available....under the details for one of those it says and thermostat controlled air-conditioning.
  2. A lot of 'boyfriends' were persuaded to get a new vehicle, and to take advantage of the rebate, it was put into their partners name.
  3. I would absolutely never book what I see listed as a FAN room. That is what you sometimes see in smaller places like guest houses and hostels and maybe those huts on the beach. Posted in front. But I thought we were discussing hotels. When I book a hotel room in Pattaya, I am expecting AC.......I would certainly be unhappy to turn up and find the room did not have AC.

  6. I don't particularly like that approach in food courts! Fine if you are a regular though, but making me queue up 3 times instead of once, or expect you to 'forget about the change' is BS. Sometimes they even make a small charge for the card itself.
  7. Many hotel rooms don't have fans...... the windows are sealed and the use of AC is needed.
  8. Southwesterlys are with us, cloudy and breezy.

  9. Thai buyers, first time buyers. That move cost a lot of falangs money. Not sure what it has to do with Hitler though.
  10. I think Qatar will be the airline of choice for those who don't have an anti-Arab stance. (Particularly for Heathrow avoidance) My last flight was Etihad, but it looks like they are gearing up for some major work on T1 which was a poor transit airport prior. Qatar have the new place and I await some feedback on how that looks. Dubai are already working on the runways and Emirates have cut flights.

Looks like you picked the right horse.
  13. Really? Greg Dyke and a few others aren't great fans.
  14. It happens every so often, an old chestnut.
  15. Nobody did until you chirped in!
  16. And gave the people a car they all could afford to drive on them!
  17. Your ignorance is astounding. A very very funny OP marred by a sour grapes post!

  19. Maybe Steamer meant Canadian dollars too.....
  20. And just to keep us on our toes...... All 22 million households in the country might face a blackout of the 64 live matches of the World Cup football tournament if the Supreme Administrative Court today rules in favour of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), RS said during the hearing in the court yesterday. Apparently from The Nation, but I read it on Thai Visa.
  21. Yeah bring it.... but they seem to show little interest in it in Jomtiem.
  22. It has just been announced that True Visions will show all the games. Any Sports Bar..... Secrets in HD, The Sportsman, Wetherspoons etc etc I am sure replays will be all over the place and since the curfew is no more, game on.
  23. Bad time of year in that regard, the heat and limited rain make the drains and sewage vents extra pungent. But regular tourist come to love it! Many who settle here move out of town after a while.
