  1. Yes i found my UK (offshore) account had a $50,000 limit so I had to send 2 TTs for a house purchase...... I don't recall Bangkok Bank even asking me anything about it. I went to them to get a copy of the TT3s.
  2. I am on a mission, I want to drink beer and have fun with the girls, wasting 1/2 hour sat on a baht bus hanging infront of 'Pattaya Royal Festival Beach Rd on The Front Mall' isn't on the agenda! As to renting a bike.. of course as a resident I own mine, but never ever drink and ride a bike in Pattaya.
  3. Do you get off without paying, or end up paying 2 (or more) fares?
  4. Yes, that is the bill for mine although I give 100. And the language barrier keeps the chit-chat down and they can get on with it.
  5. I was talking to the Thai lady who does my gardening when she arrived without her usual 2 Cambodian helpers. She said they had gone home and when I suggested they didn't have 'papers' she said yes have passports... and that was all they needed to work in Thailand. I thought otherwise, ie only a restricted professional sector could mover around and work freely around the Asean countries. I must admit I am coming across a lot of 'workers' who don't speak Thai now and am still unsure what the regs are.
  6. Moving and stationary. Have you seen the line down 2nd rd from Tai after 2am!
  7. Any chance of posting a URL? It doesn't seem to come up for me here in UK on a dongle link.
  8. And who would buy an unlabelled map?
  9. I suppose they feel it has a negative affect on Thai passengers heading towards the runway to pass a damaged aircraft on the grass. Probably a face thing! I read it was the right undercarriage that failed.
  10. I normally come out a little flushed!
  11. First Class Visa Runs Five Star Visa Runs Another thread here....
  12. Since the beer distributors aren't tax collectors perhaps there will still be a bit of stock around that hasn't had the tax applied. Of course some will add it anyhow. My Leos are showing July and SML June '13. I think the tax is applied at the manufacturing point of sale so it will work through to us soon.....particularly in soi Buakhao!
  13. From here to Eternity
  14. The Vikings
  15. Spartacus....
  16. Yes whoopee, 50.2 for a TT at SCB this morning.
  17. Yes, ready for that one....... Great Expectations (the very old one)
  18. If men's shirts become a female fashion item they will cost thousands each!!!!
  19. Why are you making suggestions when it was you who asked the question? Two problems there... for sure you won't get a work permit. You will need to travel outside of Thailand and possibly stay overnight in a neighbouring country. Some neighbouring countries have restrictions on how many entries they will give you on the multiple. Not sure what these guys are up to!
  20. Dougie Freedman I hope!
  21. 24hr. We Dive At Dawn
  22. Thanks, I wasn't paying much attention yesterday but SCB did close at 49.9412 (baht/£ for TT).... Might help towards the impending booze price-hikes.
  23. Well I know I always found the wallet pocket to be on 'the wrong side' for me in the USA.....I wear mine on the right cheek. Seems sensible being right handed...... has it got anything to do with driving?
  24. Be quick then and book your flight to Cambridge for the reunion!
  25. Why, if he learns Thai that would cover him well. I think the Ed visa is the way to go too... and don't get caught 'working'. So what if you have to have a language test after a year...... attend the classes and he might well be fluent then. Only other visa I can think of is extension for medical treatment. Or get married.....
