  1. Strange.... I find decent disposable razors hard to come by and shaving gel more expensive than UK with it's big VAT hit.Toothpaste is cheaper, hair coloring...how the fuck would I know, ask a gay guy.
  2. Soul Surfer
  3. Non of the ones I suggested go to Poipet... only went to that shithole once years ago. They tend to go further South, East of Soi Dao, Ban Laem is one I recall using, but they change when a new faster one becomes available.
  4. A rose by any other name.........etcThe differential between a buy and sell price is how profit is made...... Expanding that differential and claiming 'commission free' is the semantics we are subjected to. Others claim to offer commission-free trades, but the cost is usually factored into the spread. My bank does it when I use my UK ATM card in LOS.
  5. Well for sure the minibus I used had a row of 4 at the back... and 4 rows...and sometimes they tried to squeeze 2 next to the driver! No point naming names now... long time ago and I soon decided to pay more and get the 1st Class or 5 Star treatment.
  6. MmmmmmCarmen Electra
  7. I have found the DL covers me for hotels too.... never needed to cash cheques for a long time. There is often a police stop on the railway line bypass road... all they ever want to see is my DL.
  8. Sorry, not my experineces... the habit was to pack them in 13+...whereas 5 Star and 1st Class only carry 6 passengers in a large Biz Class seat.Much better than the crap fold down seat that wobbles as the bus hurtles along at 140kph. Mostly I have found the AC to be insufficient when these minibuses are full, stop at lights in the sun and the temperature is going up. Plus some drivers switch the AC low as they are on some fiddle with fuel buying. Fry up breakfast just for the British... I think the Ozzies and even Americans enjoy it too surely! Anyhow, we give the guy options.... as you get older discomfort is harder to take, backpackers will put up with anything. I disiked the visa run to Cambodia so much, I often booked a taxi to the airport and spent a few days in Singapore, now that exceeded the 2500 baht, but it was a nice 'change'. Now I have the retirement extension, no need for visa runs, but I don't like going to immigration too much either....

  10. This fellow is pretty good too....
  11. Yes, living in Thailand where rules are rarely taken seriously can be refreshing. I am quite certain Thais take the bulbs out of the rear light on their motorcycles to save on fuel....
  12. Tom Hanks
  13. I can't think of one either.....I carry earplugs...... every now and again the record monkey feels he is being ignored and ups the volume. I also get annoyed when they mix 2 records together as they take too long to fade one out and another track in. Rap and some other shit mixed together. But let us face it Gary...a place that played the music we like at a volume we appreciate is likely to be empty! Seems like the busier places are poorer at keeping the brews cold too.

  15. Or you might prefer not to be packed into a little minibus and sweating profusely for 6 hours. I have grown out of putting up with that for the sake of a 1000 baht. I used to enjoy the fry-up breakfast too.
  16. Didn't see them about last night.... but bars are wary of them. No 'shows' in World Wide (how is it THEY can make a profit and sell beer at only 70 baht?) Modified shows in Silver Star 1. Nothing going on in the Walkway of Silver Star 3, but normal in the main room. Sweethearts will soon be offering a free samosa with a beer. (Including a knife to cut it into 3 or 4) Mistys in good boy mode. Still plenty of fun to be had but I seem to spend more now... to have that fun you got to buy a few LDs (or God forbid a bucket of ping-pong balls)... even then it is a case of likely only someone who knows you, or the resident fat-drink-Dyson will be over to bug you. Failing that.... you will be another 'waiting for the wonder' for Gabor to write of. A few red or a purple bill on farewell may be required to help their memory. It is still crowded it town, into February on a wet day and they still roam mouth agape... packing the songtaews like sardines in a tin... I have even taken to using motorcycle taxis.... having the piss taken out of me by these baht bus drivers is becoming tiresome. Do they have a quota of people that they must deceive into thinking they are stopping for them? Perhaps the police will be gone soon and a distant memory to talk of next year, they have accumulated sufficient for the Valentine's Day gifts.
  17. We seem to have a lot of worry warts here... I have lived here over 7 years and my habit is to only carry my passport on road trips...and to and from those annoying Immigration visits. Mostly I do have my Thai driving licence with me....... If you must have Redwing boots, and a top brand motorcycle helmet, then you should carry your passport too.
  18. Don't complain too much, or they will do away with the 'cheaper' regular LDs!
  19. Perhaps TrueValue stock then too.... Head south on Sukhumvit, on the left just after Threpasit junction
  20. HomePro is in the old Carrefour Mall, now BigC Extra.
  21. Perhaps they won't bother (us) tonight... looks like rain. We did have early closures last year...... but in early May.
  22. Not sure regarding pool toys... but workboots perhaps Homeworks or HomePro.
  23. Soi 6 got hit. The year B4 http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/46457-police-crackdown-on-foreign-operated-sex-bars/page__view__findpost__p__732819
