  2. Yes it was from Don Muang....BUT my brain cells may be lacking. Back in those days I had a habit of going into Bangkok for a few days first. But but but.... I always thought Thai Airways cancelled the bus as it competed with their more lucrative Limo Cars.... .... I have these vague memories of sitting around for a few hours for the bus after arriving ( I seem to recall a booking room),, just to save a few baht. I used to do things like that when I had more time than money.
  3. I can't think of a lap pool in Town. Best most people do is find a place with a good pool and try to get up early before others start splashing around in it. It is a holiday town after all......... Perhaps the sea could suffice? The gyms are common enough.
  4. Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask.
  5. Starting a long journey with an arduous one dragging suitcases around in crowds is not my way to go. Sounds like your main concern is transit. Double check the waiting time in Dubai, anything over 2.5 hours is going to get boring. If you smoke, you might well be glad of the break. Stretching your legs after 6-7 hours is also good. A better duty free selection. Not sure what time you would be trying to traverse London but as you say, sometimes it is a nightmare. I would go to Gatwick....personally I fly from Manchester and prefer to have a change of flight anywhere but LHR, it is a shit airport, (T5 is okay).

  7. They make cracking wings.............!
  8. I have recollections of them running a popular one many years ago though.
  9. I suggest looking out of the window before agreeing to a refill. If people are driving on the right, go ahead. If they are driving on the left, refills are not free. If they are driving in both directions, you are in Pattaya so stop drinking soppy drinks like iced tea and start to enjoy yourself.
  10. Back to the Future.
  11. Joe, I clicked there several times and nothing happened!!!!

  14. There is an old adage about putting guys in uniforms turning them into cunts. There was a video clip recently of a customs official refusing to be subjected to security checks and actually assaulting the worker for having the affrontery. You can often see the 'my shit don't stink' expressions on the male Immigration officials. I go for the female queue.
  15. Jeez, are you sure you are going for a holiday? 4 monitors on a single computer? Would it be worth considering buying them from a second hand shop?
  16. Big Fish
  17. Is the German place (Antons) on Naklue Rd still going. Pretty good buffet for those who like to eat hearty.

  19. And to add to yours...... I hooked up with GPRS in the Nakhon Nowhere region when travelling once and was quite surprised how fast it seemed. I could only guess that there was plenty of network capacity in the rural areas. it was much poorer on the darkside.
  20. Once stopped and had my suitcase opened. But that is a lot lot less than one in 10 for me. Somedays everyone is strolling past and they let the xray machines do the work. Now and again I see some people having their underwear displayed.
  21. Wonderful pics...... I felt I was there. I am freezing cold now!
  22. You don't seem to be asking a question directly to anybody. See what Joe said, many factors, many different experiences. I live quite remote 12 km out of Pattaya but on my street there is TOT, 3BB and Truemove available (ie there are cables run up the street to the end). The telephones are TOT, and I have my ADSL on that line. I wouldn't recommend it. Speed can be quite good domestically, but the bottle neck is going to Europe or USA. Personally I cannot stream video most times of day. Outages are 'occasional' But you cannot predict them, it is often associated with some scalywags on a cable stealing spree which may cause a day or two offline. If an outage lasts I can hook up on EDGE/GPRS using my mobile phone, but that is much slower, and also subject to slowdown at peak times. It sounds like you are going to be doing some spread betting/ trading and there is a chance you may end up throwing the laptop out of the window one day.
  23. Intriguing to know what brings on the back pains. I think I have nailed it down to riding my motorbike... seems like I get it after a longish ride.
  24. Very good... most of that must be taxes!
