Yes, my experience of seeing Somchai cleaning his patch did actually involve him removing the rubbish... and throwing it back into the sea further along.Is the rubbish some clever scheme to prevent the erosion of the sand?

From the rank outside the airport, I last paid 1500 baht. I think that included tolls and the 50 baht rank surcharge. It is a bit of a gamble as one week, the girl on the desk may offer the 'fixed price'... another day they try it on. Generally the meter is turned off. My information may be dated as the last 3 or 4 trips I have booked Toom for 1200 baht.

I have also heard of issues like this with unofficial copies of Windows...

Shit, I saw exactly the same thing on Koh Larn, poor mut must have been hit by a vehicle and he kept falling in the rain channel at the side of the road.That was 10 years ago, so the poor mut has made it a long way now, wonder where he is heading.

Sattahip, too far for me, Bang Saen, correct side of Pattaya but still a bit far... have they finished those damned roadworks between Banglamung and Laem Chabang yet? Know anywhere good between Banglamung and Sri Racha? There are a few coming out of Pattaya on Rt3, beach side before 36 junction. I use one right on Sukhumvit which does a Tom Yam Khung to die for. Plently of places down on the beach there but a bit hit and miss on quality... yet are influenced by Pattaya prices. Just might be good to try going North... (my last attempt found a little place in Laem Chabang but pretty mediocre). Always looking for dining alternatives that avoid driving in Pattaya....

But for sure, some of the his taxis that arrived were... one was from around the corner of my old place on Soi Siam CC. If I buy a bottle of beer or can of coke on the beach, I expect the deckchair operator should clear up the empties. A small trash can near the chairs might work too. I have not seen many trash cans on the beach itself.... there are perhaps some up on the promenade, packed full, and I fear stuffing something in there for whatever might reside there.

By coincidence Dontcha I walked down Beach Rd last night and thought the beaches were disgusting and the worst I have ever seen them. I am used to seeing spilled blue trash cans off the beaten path... and dumped rubbish, but the beaches are their source of income and you would expect more effort. Even sailed through a 'floating island' of rubbish on the way to beautiful Koh Tao. It will be blamed on the tourists.. who apparently arrive at the airport with suitcases full of trash to leave on the beaches.

I've had the same there and even worse, I paid a lot for it!
