To the OP, yes the lobster and the tiger prawns are silly prices in the seafood restaurants over the sea on Walking St. Particularly on Valentines day, when filled with romantic sods who want to spend $250 before they die on their sweethearts. Prices have come a long way since I had a lobster dinner in 1985 for $20. On regular days lobsters can go on special for 2000 baht. I use restaurants off the WS and things are much cheaper, although these days the big mud crabs and lobster can be a lot even at those places. They sell them where they can get the most, of course. Even in the Thai community there are plenty of guys out to impress their gals.

Well it is a little bit less than that, more like 9 hours. I agree with your comaparison, it is like what Costa Del Sol was to British and German holidaymakers in the mid-70s. There is obviously a well organised marketing and package tour organisation in Russia for Bangkok. Thailand, and a few neighbours, are visa free for Russians too, that will help. They aren't only in Pattaya, I came across a lot flying out of Bangkok on Air Asia, off to Malaysia.

They stop frequently to drop people off once you get past Chonburi... now and again someone seems to get on. It can get a little frustrating as you get nearer to Pattaya and anticipation builds, and you seem to stop to drop off more and more... sometimes just a few hundred yards on. As for deviating, well actually an odd flyover may be missed to allow someone to disembark.

My neighbour has a Hutch dongle as a back-up to his ADSL. It works but appears slow to him ... I also believe it is only available in selected areas of Thailand. I think it is overpriced.
