Well it was a dead thread that was started in May 2006 actually. Good point on the bike, I bought a truck as I felt some twunt would kill me on Sukhumvit, but now we are ino the dry season I prefer to take the bike (avoiding Sukhumvit).

I have had the kickstand hit the deck (Nuovo) many times and would love some warning light or something to stop me riding off that way. I went all the way from Klang, down Soi Lang Talat back onto second, and turned into the Grand Sole, a right turn, and bounced off the concreste raised part there as I straightened up just last week. I stayed up but it was a fair bounce..... one day I will come off and break a limb.

The Oz players are all European based, so they obviously know where to go to get a good game!

Well, your second sentence sums it up... where do you get 200 baht oily massage in Pattaya today? For one hour, just about most places, the aforementioned Soi Honey Inn, Soi Bua khao, Pattaya Klang.... second rd...many many places jack. I never pay more.... places are not dirty, and I often get a private room. So far little incidence, but there was an attempt to get over a neighbour's wall very recently. Many houses built around are an utter and complete security joke. Roof tiles that can be pushed back and break through a false ceiling, sliding windows that can be lifted out of their track, and doors with wooden panels that can be punched out. The security grills over windows are often fitted with the removal screws easily undone. That and a security man who spends most of the time sleeping and likes to make an extra few quid by calling some friends when you go on a road trip.

Yes, touch wood!I am looking at new windows and doors now and an upgrade of my alarm system...... The old extruded aluminium windows are a security joke and I don't fancy bars in the slightest, I would move out of town (or into a condo) before I did that. A dog seem to work but I don't like them..... like having a kid.

Well they don't seem to do walking, there are hardly any pavements or road crossings and pavements are taken over by noodle sellers or the workmen or as a display area for the nearby shop. Parents don't seem to like to do the drop off.... nor do they seem to see anything wrong in letting little somcahi ride off on the bike. Passed a bike ridden by a 7 year old just now and another 3-up, the driver I think was about 6, I say I think as I was unsure which of the 3 infants was in control. Actually it would likely not be your 'fault' if you hit one, as little sombrat does not have a licence. But since he doesn't have any money, you will need to pay his fine to get the police report to get the insurance to cover the damage.

You can go to the bank on it.... but I nevertheless manage to be up and about by 8am. But sometimes even then, if I wake with a hangover, I hate to lie there suffering and head for the coffee machine. I have always been a light sleeper. Often I get up when the chanting of the monks disturbs me......

Well I live well out of town and when I do not partake of fun, I go to bed early.The mornings are so pleasant I like to be up to enjoy them, as you appear to. I must be going native.....
