  1. Hang on, Siam Sam you came back with Bogart for The Big Sleep, here. The Bogart film was 1946! The one I used for Robert Mitchum was 1978. Different films! Both playing Marlowe Oh bugger it.... The Big Sleep!
  2. Well it isn't that bad. A Visa run can start at 6am and be done with at 3pm, albeit a white knuckle ride!. Getting an extension isn't pointless, simply a few hours travelling to Jomtiem, 1900 baht and good for a month. If you pursue a Non-Imm-O from UK let us know how it goes.
  3. A cool breeezy morning with wind from the North, usually this means season change.

  4. The Big Sleep
  5. Things have changed a good bit over 10 years! You are correct a Non-Imm O permits a 90 day stay. The visa is also valid for 3 months. For 3 months I believe a tourist visa (60 days) and either an extension or border run to get another month would work. A Non-Imm O would also work.. For pensioner (aged 50 or over) : A copy of pension statement if the applicant is a pensioner, or a copy of 1-month bank statement showing your income from pension, or 3-month bank statement of at least £10,000 Ah the good old easy days, I used to get a multiple Non-Imm O, valid for 1 year and a border run every 90 days and could stay a total of near 15 months.. It was straightforward to get, 100 quid from Hull consular office! No more.... The link I gave is quite comprehensive and explains things well.
  6. Forecast is for clear and sunny for a few days, perhaps rainy season is done with.

good to know , past couple days have been dry too....

  7. Time for the cameras! Worked well in Russia!
  8. Check out the embassy website... Link A non-Imm B would suggest you plan to do business or work, I suspect it more likely you mean O. Yes Non-Imm O gives 90 days and can be obtained based on retirement (with State Pension). Depends on how long you really expect to stay, a single entry tourist will give 60 days, with an extension for 30 more, also 3 months.
  9. Well I don't recall that F1 made it to Thailand yet, unless that was it whizzing past my restaurant on the Railway Line Bypass Rd last night! But hey, congratulations to Lewis Hamilton again!
  10. They might have enough material off this thread soon!
  11. He seemed pleasant enough when you talked to him. Last I heard he seemed to suddenly up sticks and leave taking family with him. Seemed odd as he was getting involved in bar ownership just prior. I miss the daily News reports we got on Sophon TV, one might almost believe drive by bag snatching and katoey muggings are a thing of the past.
  12. I don't see where immigration has defined what will be acceptable to them to prove sufficient income to live retired in Thailand and be issued an extension. We did go off on a tangent discussion of what Malaysia did and about getting a ten year stamp. In the realms of fantasy at the moment.
  13. The current UK State Pension alone, £159.55 a week I believe, would be well short of the amount required to get an extension based on retirement, it is a touch short for a married to a Thai extension! Some get less, as living in Thailand they may not be entitled to some past increments. It is all problematic.
  14. Serious thunderstorm yesterday!

  15. I shall keep my eye on the guy with the camera!
  16. Visit AA Insurance near The Big C South. AA Insurance Location.
  17. Wouldn't it just, and certainly worth 10x1900 baht!
  18. We aren't sure what immigration will accept in lieu of income letters at the moment.... As to your initial question, probably, but I don't know of a specific one, I use the bank deposit. Others may answer although that would not be discreet. A Google search may be a simple answer then a phone call!.
  19. Ford hit me with a 3% charge for using a Thai CC......!!!!
  20. Katharine Hepburn
  21. Humphrey Bogart
  22. The waiter recommended I pay with a credit card, his name was Charjit.
