Seems to be common in China.... maybe they don't like cold drinks or are too cheap to turn the fridges up. A pal flew them LHR to BKK and back via Canton and said, they do what it says on the tin. Knowing him I expect they were the best price-wise. That was Dreamliner and 737.

Yes I have done that near Pattaya, but I would say it was 35 years ago! Nearby Islands, koh Larn unlikely, further out Koh Phai, similarly. There is another just past there I can't speak for called Koh Luam. The group of Islands to the south off Sattahip are Navy controlled.

Obviously Holiday Inn. I believe the Dusit has been renovated too and could again be a contender.

Its the LHR transfer that puts me off in that case. I only recently decided to go via BA/LHR because at least that way it is a straightforward T5/T5, but it was still not very good. BA can't get the shuttles off on time. (And BA Biz Class wasn't worth the money on the old equipment)

Sobering indeed. It hasn't really explained why one member of my family did this to himself, and I could not grasp it and lacked sympathy. It has elevated my perception perhaps of how he suffered and my guilt of how I left him to his own devices. Not sure I am comfortable with that.
