He is off to a great start but it is about years of success, not a few starts and not one or two years. Tim Lincecum - 2 straight Cy Young awards and he had 5 consecutive horrible starts. The league is adjusting. Pablo Sandoval, number two in the league in hitting last year and hitting in the .280s with limited power. Pitchers have found his weaknesses. I do wish the kid success and he is good for baseball and baseball in D.C.! I just don't get too excited by hype. Pitchers especially are prone to arm injuries (Mark Fidrych comes to mind). However, his rookie baseball card might be a good investment.

well that's a drag! glad they did not change your outbound date. Where do you fly from (home port)? Do they frequently have problems filling planes? You might try calling customer service. They may be willing to fly you after your original date rather than before.

WTF do they just not have the balls to ban these things from the stadiums? I enjoy the EPL but I turn off la Liga because the Italians seem to like these also. Even in my living room they are annoying. God help me if I was in the stadium without earplugs - and I have been to many a major sporting event and rock concert. Tom, Scots and Irish, etc are not Brits. The rest was my opinion based on my life long observations of world and national sports. You, as usual, criticize without offering rebuttal.

In almost every country the best athletes at the professional level are soccer players. That will never happen in America where the best athletes play baseball, basketball, football and even hockey (you can add golf too if you wish). Soccer is a second tier professional market here, for good or ill. The money is elsewhere and the athletes - the top athletes - play sports that offer them a lucrative future for the most part. TV and marketing pour money into the sports I mentioned. Soccer is just not in the same league, so to speak. Look at all the great players on England, a much less populated nation the USA. The best British athletes are soccer players. We played as a team and will probably make it to the next round. England may have learned a lesson from this and they almost certainly will move on to the next round also. The USA will not be devestated if we bow out. It will be "Oh, well, we never expected much." For the Brits, the tie was like a loss.

Well, you know Christiano Renaldo will get mentioned so let us get him out of the way! I like him, skill wise, and huge egos are a part of celebrity it seems.

I am rooting for the USA but to be honest, I see England winning 4-1. Well, I love premium economy but may need to adjust in order to find a better price and use Kayak and other sites to get a better deal.

Well, it seems that prices will be high but hopefully not as high as currently and waiting may be the wisest choice.

I prefer to fly premium economy. I am stunned at the prices being asked to fly to and from Bangkok in December. I have checked EVA, Thai Air, JAL and Delta and the lowest premium economy I found was over $2200 with many airlines charging near or over $2000 for economy. A Vietnamese friend suggests that prices will go down after Labor Day but I am not so sure. I have a room booked so I can wait quite a while before getting my ticket. I have booked tickets before at all times of the year and have travelled overseas in all seasons except Christmas. I am not sure what is going on here. Oil prices are relatively low. The dollar has been fairly stable if not as high an exchange rate as we might like. The only thing I can think of is supply and demand. When I returned to the States in February, EVA premium economy was $1600 and business class was like $4000+ mow it is $2400 and $5000 respectively. What do you guys think the reasons are for this? Do you think the prices will go down or up? Should I wait a bit or is it prudent to book a flight for Christmas 6 months in advance?

I fly EVA all the time. The price is going up and up as demand is increasing for Elite (Deluxe) class. A bit more comfortable on a 12 hour flight from SFO to Taiwan with economy food. It beats me up less than economy but it still beats up my sports ravaged 59 year old body. It is not in any way a business class light. It is an economy upgrade.

Now that is a program ill-advised for windows users. What has AVG to say about this?
