  1. I set up direct debit to my bank account when I bought my condo 12 years ago. Works fine. Little Roy
  2. According to today's BP the PM Gen. Prayuth has stated there will be no ban. Little Roy
  3. Stapleton was looking for attention and got it. His "facts" are not accurate. Several places in the piece her refers to the "bloody military coup." I guess I missed it. That statement put me off the rest of the piece. Yes, bad things happen. Sometimes the farangs are themselves to blame. Shit happens everywhere. And, yes, Thai attitudes toward farangs have changed....maybe partially due to the shitty attitudes of some farangs. There is enough blame to go around. Corruption is more visible here than in farangland mostly because farangland has learned to keep it somewhat out of signt. I enjoy Thailand, though I must say that the areas becoming urban have lost their appeal to me. But that is true for most of farangland. I guess I rambled a bit there. Sorry. Little Roy
  4. We see so many cons in LOS that we become very cynical and questioning...which can be a good thing. Am happy to see this was a legit study. Little Roy
  5. If I were in-country now I would go just to see what it's all about. I hope someone will attend and report back what it is all about. Really. Little Roy
  6. A few years ago my now wife asked me to buy her a bike. I told her that if I bought her a bike it was because I wanted her to die. End of discussion. And we have been together for almost 13 years now. It doesn't matter how good a bike rider you are. You ride in Pattaya you are asking for trouble. Little Roy
  7. Yep, another one is Neil Colov. In his case he is also ego driven. And he did pretty well for a long time. Little Roy
  8. I met the guy some years ago when many were listening to his line. I knew several people who thought he was influential and a big influence peddler. He struck me then as a shady character and I successfully avoided him after that. Little Roy
  9. Boo 2 Little Roy
  10. You might want to keep your GF around for awhile. Little Roy
  11. Sovietus Interruptus.....? Little Roy (I probably shouldn't have signed this one)
  12. You have a good eye for interesting sights. As do I, but....I often forget to carry my camera. CRS? Thanks for your efforts! Little Roy
  13. I understand. And I sent you a PM. Little Roy
  14. MM, what banned books did you have in mind? Little Roy
  15. I was a regular customer of the book store on the second floor of Tops. Then I discovered Kindle. Have had mine for several years now. No problem downloading books while in Thailand. I have now finished 186 books and have three waiting for me...including Jonathan Kellerman's latest. I bought it pre-release several months ago and it showed up automatically on the Kindle yesterday. The latest one I finished was Jake Needham's latest which I had also purchased pre-release. OK, so I'm too lazy to go to a bookstore....and it's snowing again here in the States so I'm passing the snow test. I'll be back in Thailand later this year....and with the Kindle. Little Roy
  16. IMHO her best song was, "Do it to me one more time." Does anyone have a video of that one? Little Roy
  17. Acually she was a good hostess at Secrets. And I have some history with her. Multiple. She was always very...uh...cooperative. Little Roy
  18. A walking pole. Two long sticks of the length you desire. So....why not cut a couple of sticks to the length you desire and call them "walking poles"? Someone once said, "Necessity is the mother of invention." Somehow this inventions doesn't seem very complex......? Little Roy
  19. All those series are good. But the best portrayal of Holmes was by Jeremy Slate in the old Brit series. Little Roy
  20. I've been to a few bars for coupling purposes, but.........oh....sorry. Little Roy
  21. Do they have a web site? And if so, please share. Little Roy
  22. Sue's Place has been there for a very long time. I went there often before I became domesticated (mostly). Sue looked after me and made some great recommendations for someone to share the night with me. You might say I had a take-away that, while edible, was not fattening. This was over 12 years ago. And the memories linger on...... Little Roy
  23. Thanks for the info. Better info here than on either Thai Visa or Bangkok Post. I know some people near there. I hope all are OK. No news yet on casualties.....? Little Roy
  24. Funky, thanks for the info. One of my favorite bars is the Chick n Coop Bar next door. The last time I was there the "new" and now old owners hadn't taken over yet. The place was empty most of the time while Coops Bar was very active. The difference is always that the best run and friendly bars have business. Am looking forward to seeing Coop and his wife (the "Chick") when I return later this year. Thanks again for replying. Little Roy
  25. The Triangle Bar has been posting daily for a long time. That reminded me that the Martini Bar also did that...but then went silent after posting last September. Anybody know if they're still is business? Just curious. Little Roy
