Tuesday the price for PNS to BKK was $1196 Thursday the price was $1293 This is for late September flight. I am betting that the price will drop for a week or so 90 days out. So, middle of June I'm hoping to get ticket for $1196 . We will see how that plan works out.

Geography was a one minute class. Canada is North. Mexico is South. Pretty much everything else is overseas.

Do not pay for you entire stay at Pattaya Bay Resort up front. Pay for two or three nights: you may not like the noise factor there and wish to rethink your hotel stay. Noise is always a crapshoot, maybe good maybe not.

And they have GREAT food. I think the owner/operator is a real chef. Eat there even if you don't stay there.

Why would the OP lie ? Too easy to check out if he is lying. Lots of facts given. I believe the OP. There are many places to visit in Pattaya, is a lot simpler to keep a list of places NOT to go than a list of places to go. Windmill and club69 are on my list now.

Thanks for the info. I would be fllying from the East coast (PNS) but that isn't the question. Is there some way the USA flyers could have a Topic that is for flight info to and from the USA ? Each post would have East West Central in their post so we could do a search ? Some way of exchanging Flight info ? I know I'm not good at finding rates, it would help me.

Thanks for posting this. It was very interesting reading. I will watch the IPB, maybe a great buy because of Merrill Lynch news today. -
You mention Febuary in your original post. If that is the beginning of your stay I would book for one week and then extend if I liked the place. Febuary there will be vacancies to be had easily. If your booking starts in early January then go ahead and book for 7 weeks. BUT in any case DO NOT pay ahead, at least not for more than a few days worth.

Settlement notice for Credit and Debit card users
JONPAT replied to short's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
All the options are dependent on how many people apply for how much. The number of eligibles is close to 30 Million. After the lawyers get their cut the remainder is about 9 dollars US for each of the 30 million. Sure hope that most of the 30 million decide not to apply, that would mean more for those who do. You may get up to $25 using option one; the other two options are also dependent on how many apply for how much. -
Thanks for letting us know about the fire, wish there were some pictures posted. Must of been fun watching the fire trucks navigate the torn up road out front of Nois bar.

arcadiapattaya@hotmail.com This is on my business card from there. 66 38 724054 and 66 38 724055 are the phone nbrs. 66 38 724 155 is the FAX these are from first week of oct 2007 397/46 Second Road, Soi 14, Pattaya City, Chonburi 20260 Be sure to use the laundry across from their front entrance, I like the people that work there. On a dead end street like Soi 14, they appreciate the business.

If this is the one on Soi 14 just down from Tim's Botique, then it is an acceptable hotel for what you pay. The deluxe is two rooms, two smallish balconies, BUT they face the beer bars on Soi Dianne. So, it will be noisy in your room until they turn the sound down sometime after midnight. Ok for some who are out till 2 in the morning. I tended to have my barfine and in bed by that time of night. The standard rooms are fine, I moved to one after the first night of noise, they have one balcony. Both rooms have nice size fridge. The standard rooms were MUCH less noisy. Right across fr

I stayed there on the 5th floor for last 4 days in Sept. Noise was not a problem. The construction went on from 8am till 8pm but it wasn't all that noticeable. No pile driving, could hear some metal cutting occasionally but not much. Mostly setting up the tie rods for the concrete. I wouldn't let the possible noise be a deciding factor.

Pattaya Bay Resort - is it noisy?
JONPAT replied to amsterdamguy's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I am/was in an odd number upper floor room. The construction noise is not a problem. The TV or LOUD talking from next door room may be if there is any. So far it has been only NIT NOY for me, so little that it doesn't bother me. The walls are not paper thin but barely cardboard thick, somehow noise just seems to carry in the building. Very nice rooms, great staff, wonderful entertainment center in my room. Short cut thru shopping center gets you to 2nd street in less than 5 minutes stroll. -
Can you please help with picking a hotel in Patts?
JONPAT replied to x4p3gsu's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Especially stay here if you are afraid you may end up with a Ladyboy, cause they will make sure you don't get to your room with her. So I am told. -
SEPTIC is a GOOD thing.

Try printing out PATTAYA in large letters. Attach the sign to your carryon when you get to the waiting area before the last leg of your journey. Bet that will get you a person to share the ride with.

Please let me piggyback on this thread. What was the price of your room. How did you get that price; email/walkin/website etc... Thanks. -
Only reason I can think of is that I don't live near a gateway city. It cost just to get to Los Angeles or San Francisco or New York. I thought 1200$ was okay from a small town in the middle of southeast USA. $400 of the cost would be from here to a gateway city, then $800 from there to BKK and back. There are great fares to be had if you live near a real airport but for a lot of us in the hinterland they are out of reach.

Kasikorn was a bad experience with their ATM. Using a Bank of America atm card I tried to take out 20,000 Baht. Wouldn't let me. Tried 17,500 ; wouldn't let me. Same with 15,000 and 12,500. Then at 10,000 baht it took my transaction Got charged $1.50 for each of the transactions. Not all their fault, some goes to Bank of America bandits. Use my credit union atm and there was only the $1 charge from them plus got 17,500 baht.

Someplace else said take bus 554 or 555 from Don Muang to the new airport. Then take the Bell bus service to Pattaya, I think they even get you to your hotel if you have one That is my plan when I fly into Don Muang from Udon Thani.

The number of retirement visas awarded last year isn't a real number of new people retiring in Thailand. Many of that number were there in Thailand the year before but on some other type of visa. The people that were already in Thailand but came of a last year were then eligible to get the retirement visas. Not all but certainly a lot.
-
No, you can not have the same experience. If you stay at the Nana then you experience the Nana. When you stay at some other hotel then you are having the same experience. If you hav the extra $50 or so, then by all means go for it, stay at the Nana. After that experience then stay at any other place and compare the Nana experience. Any other experience is NOT the same.
