Dr. Preecha Paijitrochana Smile Time Dental 406/335 Thapphraya rd. Jomtien Use the bahtbus that fill up on 2nd rd just south of South road. Get off bahtbus directly after it turns right towards the Jomtien Beach, just where the Monkey Statue is. Around the 5th or so shop from the stop lights as you look towards the beach on your left hand side. Speaks English well enough.

Falang should not be surprised by Thai Air seating priority, you are last; be glad they don't fly dogs.

Cash, ten thousand baht. Hope it is enough to getto the closest border.

You are right. My information is either incorrect or out of date. Wasa 4 years ago I checked into going to the end of the line on the Bangkok to Pattaya line, I was sure it kept on going south for an hour or two. Oh well, guess Pattaya may be the end of the line after all.

My info says the train stops at Pattaya and continues on down to Rayong. Then returns to Bangkok stopping in Pattaya. I always thought it'd be a nice day out to train down to Rayong and return, just to sight see jungles, tin shanties, and such.

These letters from SS asking if you are still alive; are they registered letters you must sign for?

Sounds like a crap shoot, maybe enforced and maybe not. So, how is the fine calculated? What is the maximum fine? Can the fine be negotiated?

The Whisper Hotel, Soi 15 off 2nd Road
JONPAT replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I stayed when the rooms were 1200 baht, good value at that price. The buffet was ruined by a Russian hacking and coughing without covering his mouth; as if he wanted his germs/spit to go all over the open food in the buffet. I couldn't even finish my toast and coffee. I just assumed the Russians that stayed across the road would gravitate to the Whisper. It was maybe the best shower I've been in, lots of room. No charge for the girl I brought back for a short time. They did want a deposit of a thousand or maybe two but returned if no damage to the room upon departure. -
International transfers (American Bank to Thai Bank)
JONPAT replied to simplelife's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Scottrade rule for having an account is that you have a domestic phone number which they can contact you. They tried to contact my number and it has been disconnected. I told them I didn't have a domestic phone because I was on an extended vacation overseas. So , guess I told them. So now I have 58 days to liquidate the account and find another stock company that doesn't have their rules for an account. Any one have an overseas stock broker account like Schwab or TD Ameritrade or Merril Lynch ? -
International transfers (American Bank to Thai Bank)
JONPAT replied to simplelife's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
SCOTTRADE has done the same to me. Close my account regular account and my ROTH. I have 60 days to move the money/stocks somewhere else. I thought I did maintain a USA residence, Illinois thinks so: the State of Illinois taxes my residence, I pay income tax to Illinois, I am registered to vote, have a driving license, pay for a car plate, have an address. Scottrade says I travel outside the USA too much. I've been with them since the mid 1990s. What a bunch of zealots or there is someone upset I come to Thailand 8 months a year for therapeutic sex. Do NOT do business with Scottrade or TD Ame -
Road Rage and Its Aftermath

NEVER use your road rage to be an excuse to challenge a Thai's road rage or loss of Face. -
Hotel balcony falls - suicide or accident?
JONPAT replied to Yujin's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Suicide, accident, or murder? I'd imagine some of each. My difficulty is walking the uneven pavements when there is pavements. -
I hope they can keep a few parking places out front for the stop and go customers. I've eaten the Sunday Roast and would be happy to stop and get a take out if I could park the car on 2nd road for the ten minutes it takes to get the go. Best of luck to you.

I drink two cups a day, in the mornings. I've gone two days without coffee and go thru withdrawal symptoms(terrific headache). You don't think you are addicted try going two days without cafeine from some method.

Under 300 Baht ... And Good! (updated July 4, 2022)
JONPAT replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
Thanks for post on Took La Dae at Royal Garden, I never knew there was one there. I've eaten at several around Thailand and always enjoyed them. Not the best food but good enough to say I had edible Thai food. Good source to 'try' different dishes, not too much lost if they don't suit your pallet. -
"Now, of course, the Dolphins are being called racist by some:" I imagine they are also being called patriotic by some others? The Southern United States is a different culture than Seattle.

Hotel recommendation wanted
JONPAT replied to midlifecrisis's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I had to pay 1170 for last minute reservations. They ask for a thousand baht deposit for damages. Very quite rooms, clean, great water pressure, front desk that was actually studying english when not busy with customers. Had a Russian mid twenties guy that ruined breakfast for me, not the hotels fault, he was coughing on all the food, I think on purpose not covering his mouth at all. I had my coffee and didn't eat anything. Easy to get to from Soi Buakhoa too, just down/up the dirt road next to the bar complex that didn't do so well. -
How'd that pizza from Tesco turn out?

Bangkok Hospital South Pattaya branch
JONPAT replied to nkped's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
Well see there, I thought you was going to walk over and check up on the blood tests service offered and their costs. Lose a portion of a kilo just checking up on the prices and posting for all us other lazy parentless folk. -
'The Idiot' by Dostoyevsky: free download from amazon to the Kindle Paperwhite. Usually read spy, mysteries, police procedural, or apocaliptic dystopia

I hope you have seen 'The Conversation', one heck of a good movie. I like Hackman too. David Janssen TV & screen, Richard Boone , Broderick Crawford (10-4), Myrna Loy, Dick Powell, Orson Wells, ... just so many that I enjoyed; I am a lucky man to have so much to choose from.

The 18th of June I tried Bell Bus for morning of 26th June, no seats left until late afternoon. Can not wait 8 hours for a bus. I thought sure a week in advance would be enough time; no luck at Bell Bus.
