Naando's (Balti Towers) Indian Restaurant on 3rd Road
Bullfrog replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
I have just spent a lovely couple of hours in the new " Carry a Curry, Indian fine cuisine" at the bottom of Khao Talo and by direct comparison with the above example the price would have come to 660 Baht with free delivery..... It has only been open a couple of weeks and is lovely and fresh inside....but I decided to eat outside.. If you want a light lunch...just order onion bhajis for 90 baht...you get about 6 of the buggers and they were the best I have ever eaten.. For my light lunch I also had several beer chang at 55 baht and more than several double hongthongs at 50 baht...... -
Since posting about some bad food experiences at PBG some time ago I have returned numerous times because the location, booze, serving staff and WIB make PBG one of the best places to go in Pattaya - if not the best.. During that time I have had 2 meals, both of which were perfect. 1. Dory is a very "soggy" fish and difficult to get right but PBG is the only place I know that cooks it to perfection. The mash spud and white sauce were both bloody excellent.. 2. I have had larb moo and somtam too....Again both of these can be very difficult to get right for individual tastes expecially as you are not standing next to the chef dipping your finger in to give direction on how you want it......dipping your finger into the sauce I meant not the chef!!! Anyways, they were both perfect for my tastes..... No matter where or what I am eating and am asked "you want spicy?" my response is always the same "spicy for a farang, little bit spicy for Isaan" and it seems to do the trick.... It would be totally arrogant of me to think I had any input into any improvements but whatever has happened I am very pleased to see it back on top of the game...

That's understandable.... The priests may turn it all into blood..!!

Fuck me upto the mid 90s the rear 6 seats were smoking seats (the last 2 rows didn't have lift up arms though) which is where I sat even as a non smoker just to get a lay down.. BA Jumbos had business non smoking "upstairs" so thats where I sat when I could afford it...

I am a sad bastard and use it whenever my sons visit me.... and then leave...

Hahaha yeh. They can get him all soaped up and slithery then squirt him out the window and across the road...albeit naked... Japanese tourists sitting in that first noodle shop watching a soapy naked Englishman fly past screaming... -

Funnily enough I was on soi honey yesterday and was thinking how easy it is there for somebody on their first trip to get a massage/BJ/shag .... As for the Big C Marina, I would say doing the walk of death crossing that road on your first day is not to be recommended.... -
My own experiences of flying from Southampton into Schipol then onwards should prove as a warning to others.. 1. If the incoming flight is late then it is that carrier that has to find you a new flight if you miss your onward flight. In my case KLM UK didn't have a presence in Schipol and I was left stranded because they basically kick you out of the prop plane and its upto you to go begging at the desk of your onward flight carrier.. in my case it was down to wherever I was flying to in Africa at the time.. 2. When I was flying with my first Thai wife in from BKK we had to be escorted by an immigration official ( after a lot of harrasment) through to the KLM UK departure gate because she only had a visa for UK and not a Shengen visa. As you say in your OP you really need to do your homework before you start looking at these cheap flights...

It was my Mum's favourite hotel !! I also have a soft spot for it as it is where I met up with BM Murgatroyd many years ago.... Having said that I agree that it really is out of the way nowadays and my own experience of BR Songteows is that many don't stop as they appear to be touting for tour group private hire... -
Excellent pics mate. Thanks very much.. I am now tempted to walk down Suk from Wat Dam and see if I can manage to get up that foot bridge and enjoy the view in person...

Excellent idea.. Funnily enough I checked the Devonshire on Trip Advisor after I posted about it and some entries were quite bizarre in that they were polar opposite from my own experiences there ......So it is a good idea to get BMs own POVs... -

I have been spending quite a few mornings in the Devonshire on soi Lengkee recently. The food is good quality at a reasonable price,it is served promptly by friendly long legged beauties in short shorts, people watching of those leaving the Opey de Place is very entertaining and they do a large carafe of wine for 195 baht with an ice bucket if you wish ( and for Cedar Creek, I wish it)..... They also have rooms but I have no idea what they are like..... If anybody is interested I'll get one of the girls to show me a room........ EDIT = For a first time traveller it would be perfect. A choice of English comfort food and Thai food to keep you going whilst you find your way around. I have seen the English owner sit and advise guests when asked..In fact it has a friendly open atmosphere that allows chatting between tables if you want to ask any questions...... and a short walk to several choices of naughtiness , including Soi Honey ..... and it's on the Baht Bus route for going further afield.. -
Post deleted...Red deleted ..fine by me..
-
I love the fact that I got redded for this post......I walked 2 fucking hours today and talked to people rather than reproduce what is said on other forums... Previously I walked fucking hours to ask about Sandy Springs and quiz nights.. Fuck you you lazy cunt that redded me!!
-
Thanks. I shall revert to posting "elsewhere"..as it seems better informed.. I walked a couple of hours today to see for myself........but can't be assed to post what I now know.......... and what I now know aint gonna be posted "elsewhere"..... but why the fuck should I bother
-
I was down there last week ( to check my PO Box you understand) and they were happily calling people in around 2pm...
-
My immediate concern is for the QV and the visa shop out back....Surely the QV will have a daytime licence .... I may check today..
-
Thanks.. Neither of the other 2 Scooters appeals to me (day or night), my visits to Le Pub are giving me grief ( for personal reasons I normally stay away from WS), sois Honey and Chayapoom are for ST activity only......Looks like I shall be spending more time in NP and Soi Post Office then..... Bugger!!
-
I arrived at Scooters , soi 6, yesterday just before 11am but it hadn't yet opened which was a surprise because the Tom is normally quite happy to serve me early. I was then told by the cleaner that no bars on soi 6 were allowed to open yesterday before 6pm. Today I spoke to a cashier from one of the bars and she said that for the forseeable future bars can open at 5pm and start serving at 6pm... Apparantly she got a hefty fine (not sure what for) which her boss paid for her... Anyone know WTF is going on...?..

Any reduction in price..???

Never in the Poo .........??
