I also have to say that I have curtailed my 45,000 baht a month wine at home expenditure......

Well my life here still hasn't settled down....I don't think it ever will mainly because of me!! I started getting my Army pension in December with the long term aim of living off it, with savings as a back up, but I can't even attempt it yet as my eldest son visits me in April and I will take a 3 week holiday in August so quite honestly this year will be impossible to even attempt at sticking to a budget.. I moved down here about 4 years ago and the "concrete table" culture appeals to me - It's how I lived up country for 16 years so why not here?. It is what I enjoy in life...and ye

My flight originates here (in Thailand). In the past I used to fly in to any terminal I fancied, used a free hoppa to a hotel and have a good nights kip then rent a car... Interestingly I considered Emirates business class which advertises a free chauffer driven car within a 70 mile radius of the arrival point... How bored are you today?? If you have time check out the Devizes Travelodge (SN10 2HL)radius to LHR...Even check out the AA shortest route......Emirates say it is outside !!!!!!

I shall have to go and take a look tomorrow..There was a Thai nutter around there when I was sat in 5 Star Bar on Saturday and I didn't notice anything missing............. but each piece of wood probably cost 20,000 baht so no wonder they have been stolen....... -
I have 2 experiences with this. 1. I travelled in from Greece and my Thai wife travelled in from Bangkok. I arrived first and waited at immigration for her. We were grilled and intimidated by a smirking, sniggering official who actually said "There's nowt as queer as folk".He actually bloody said it!!! These were the days when I was capable of decking someone and I came very close to it... 2. Travelling in together from Africa. They started to grill us but after a few minutes I just said "Either let us in or we'll use our return tickets to leave now!". It is important to secu

Shared with his friendssssss I have a 16 year old niece that needs somewhere to stay for two nights. She is very inexperienced and hoping for your friends to show her around...She is willing to pay your friends 20$ a night if that's OK? OH It is from PA! Thanks to everybody for your replies and ideas. I sent my daughter to Tucom to investigate and also asked my sons in UK to check out options.. This morning I received this reply from my eldest son in UK via Skype...." ive pinched a pedometer from work for you they happened to be giving them out"....He gets here 8th April so I'll give it a try....

I use these as a reference along with Skyscanner and airline websites... http://sunnyonlinetravel.com/flights/ I normally used EVA Premium Economy to LHR but due to my Mum's death I no longer travel to Dorset but to Wiltshire which gives limiting factors with National coaches. I will now fly cabbage class with Emirates purely due to arrival time and terminal...

Well said...I will be flying home to Blighty in August and have already selected Airline, dates, times and seats ....Doing this enables me to book a Travelodge well in advance saving at least 200 quid over the whole holiday period.....I can also book National coaches well in advance... Sometimes peace of mind is more important than a couple of quid..

Walked passed yesterday. From the front it looks the same with "Barrel tables" accross the door but I think some work has been done on the upper floor and the new bar area... My prediction? Open for Songkran cos I think the view from the front is um er a front........

I have no political affiliation so am loving the entertainment coming to us from the USA at the moment. Quality programming from the country that gave us the original reality broadcast by Orson Wells ... Brilliant for those of us gawkers perversely watching from behind the settee waiting for the next "Breaking Fake News" story.. Are you enjoying it too..??
