  1. As my Father used to say about some of my sandwiches....."Are you going to eat it or climb it?"
  2. As long as The Devonshire does Cottage Pie I shall never be hungry...
  3. Yep....and you caught it when it was busy....
  4. It was a sad day for humanity when Marathon became Snickers. So well they might buy their own and huddle on a corner table to hide the fact that they are having them...!!!! All Snickers must be hunted down and destroyed!!!!
  5. Rosies regular ?...an oxymoron? Surely you didn't go back... Pig and whistle "making" you sit by the window bench seats... Robin Hood should be doing much much better compared to soi 7 ....
  6. .... and it's not the sort of food that I seek when I go to Blighty for a holiday.......
  7. They had Oggys on today as a special. I have had too many shit pasties here in Thailand so was looking forward to their version on the way back from the Post Office this morning .... but the escalator wasn't working.... I really hope to catch both in action when I walk past next.. Ow Oh Appy us shall be when us gets to the West Country Where the oggys grow on trees Oh Bugger Janner!!
  8. Gotcha! It's on a walking route with you being about one hour in so with the weather as it is now I will need a cold beer for starter... Good luck with the business....
  9. I was surprised to see san mig dark aswell but Lao Dark is lush too!! How far into soi 8 is it from Theprasit??? Sorry again but I don't do fb so can't see the map....
  10. That looks very nice indeed. Another Mexican here in Patts has better Thai food than it does Mexican food and it has two other significant features :- 1. A bad feature of having bogs up stairs through what looks like an iron door - Not good after a few cocktails so I hung on till it was time to leave... 2. It sells San Mig dark beer...effing delicious ... but then there is the problem of the bogs.. How does your place compare..??? (Sorry but I don't do FB)....
  11. Agree. I have been unable to finish my food in there before too....but I never made it in there for a 3rd time...
  12. I would love to see a remake of "On the Beach". It is the only book I have been unable to finish reading through pure emotion but the film didn't seem to capture the awefulness of killing your own children, the end of humanity and pointless pursuit by the Submarine along with it's Captain to refuse to accept his family had died without him.......
  13. I have lived in LOS 20 years+ and this place did the best Tomyam Goong I had ever had at the time of going....with gert big king prawns to suck the juice out of....I needed a towel to clean up afterwards!! .....I heard it was a bit of a rugger bugger community and went with my daughter to try and get her interested in playing.....but she insisted "I don't want a nose like yours daddy!!"
  14. We ( my Mum and sons) got up and walked out when the bitch started using the cattle prod on the tigers.. It was my eldest son that put me onto Elephants World and we went there year before last. They will be revisiting at Songkran and 2 nights are scheduled to be spent there.....As you say it is so very very sad especially when you see how their backs have become distorted from carrying tourists on those big heavy chairs...... but at least they are made happy in their final years....
  15. As you have already mentioned Erawan waterfalls I shall add a great day out at Elephants World.... This is truly a home for sick, injured and abused elephants. They collect you from your hotel and drop you off. Definately Definately no elephant rides other than a good scrub down in the river.... http://www.elephantsworld.org/ Nothing like Lamphang ooop North that still had elephants doing "tricks" last time I visited..
  16. Thanks. That is perfect. I have passed it on to my son who is visiting at Songkran and I shall use it when I take a holiday in sunny Dorset later in the year...
  17. Must be that time of year...I was on Soi Buakhao yesterday by the market and the leccy was off for an hour or so......and today it has dropped 3 times here in the slums for about 15 minutes a time...
  18. It's just a wind up ...........
  19. I have bought several here but they were shite, either too quiet or didn't keep time. I bought one in UK two years ago in a pound shop, a proper dingalingaling one, does the job brilliantly.
  20. Which company did you use..???
  21. The best thing I ever bought at an airport was my IDP at the Post Office at Departure on Terminal 3 Heathrow...Many moons ago it was underground between 2 and 3. You just turn up with a photo, fill the form and they issue it there and then. Do it after you've checked in but before you go into immigration...Brilliant ...Untill BA moved all their flights out to T5.. But in August I shall be flying Emirates and will get one one the way back....
  22. Thats what I enjoyed most about Bite Me was enjoying several starters in a row, each with a bottle of wine but it aint gonna happen in the 'Hood with Mont Clair...
  23. There are escalators that go up near Wine Connection. On the way down they end at Wine Connection. Wine Connection is a shop that sells Wine. It is located at the bottom of the escalator. You'd think somebody in the 'Hood would have the nouse to use the bloody escalator and negotiate a wholesale discount and carry the wine up the bloody escalator to serve to customers as an alternative to bloody MC...
  24. Here is a black and white version of what it is like in Pattaya these days.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFp3H8dnJps
  25. Thanks...Do the choice of bottled craft beers appear on any menu yet...????
