  1. I did the morning session with the Missus ( buy one get one free ) which came with lunch vouchers to be used whilst they are collating the results into a little booklet. When it came to changing my health insurance and getting another health check 3 months later I was able to show substantial improvements even though I still had high BP and BMI..... and I got the policy I wanted...
  2. For everything else BPH is extremely expensive for out patient if you are paying for it yourself..
  3. I was treated in Bumrungrad ..phew..probably 17 years ago with verbal consent by Bupa....but after the lump was removed and wasn't cancer they said it was "cosmetic" and didn't pay...
  4. BHP have summer and winter offers for health checkups...I did mine in the Summer and am very glad I did......
  5. Thanks.
  6. Fantastic job.Absolutely bloody fantastic!!!!
  7. When drinking hongthong I drink the bottles of soda it comes with from the shop. When I am out and about my choice is purely made on price which is why I will never use Retox again nor Jollys......No loss for them, except that I breakfast with friends so if any of us dislike a place the group doesn't meet there.. Funilly enough 5 Star Bar on beach road is the cheapest I have found at 30 baht...
  8. Wasn't there a gang of Europeans here in Pattaya at one time that tried to "help people out" at ATMs with the intent of watching the PIN being entered or some such thing
  9. Also sharing a bottle of hongthong with the neighbours as the sun rises is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy yourself........occassionally...
  10. Where exactly is the place,? its a brilliant location if its near that junction and quiet. Does it have a name / number..??? How much for leccy per unit..??
  11. What an excellent idea to include a photo of the Beauty, Brains and Brawn of the outfit.. By Brawn I mean muscle, if I were to compare anybody with a boiled pig's head it would be me....... Merry Xmas Peter!!!
  12. After leaving school and before joining the Army I worked in a Deli and was able to cut cheese or grab a handful of rashers at just the right weight.....but it could have something to do with my thumb on the scales...
  13. I need to disabuse you of any "Ricky" style drinking establishment. My reply was pure rhetoric. A long leisurely morning and afternoon was spent hoovering drinks at a moderate pace whilst enjoying convivial conversation...with a lovely view and excellent service......which brings us back rather nicely to an option for Xmas...the subject of the thread..
  14. My neighbours and I drink copious amounts of Hongthong. For 300 baht you get 1 big bottle of honkers/ 6 bottles of soda/bag of ice... I was charged 85 baht in the "new" cats corner for a sip of the stuff .... straight...3pm...with just a couple of women there that were probably too old to get a job in 5 star bar...!! Soda water...bloody soda water...some places charge 50 effing baht for a 330ml bottle...!!!!
  15. Hahaha yep I should be....It was like It's a knock out/Jeux sans Frontierre with the staff counting down each one and me with a big wobbly head and shiny nose......It was a very long session I might add....
  16. PBG is a good option for this as their lamb roast is very good and it has an excellent choice of Thai food....Their Long Islands are very very good ( my record in one sitting is eleven!!) ....and of course it is easy to get to most places by song teow too.......so no drinking and driving...
  17. I was in the "new" Tropical (Berts) up on Khao Talo this morning. The interesting thing about his Xmas menu is that you can BYO wine at just 50 baht corkage.....
  18. Oddly, I have never smoked but find secondary smoke quite comforting probably due to growing up in a household of smokers..........but of course it doesn't come without health risks.. Anyways, this thread proves yet again that we all have our little quirks but are able to express our points of view without vitriol..
  19. It's astonishing how each of my Thai wives were able to curl up into a tiny ball and sleep for the duration on long haul flights ....Including Biz Class flights.........Including Biz Class lounges....Including on National coaches .........
  20. And bring headphones to block out the constant shouting in the Thai Soaps she will be watching whilst awake..
  21. I do believe The Hog's Breath, Pattaya, (Not Nana) receives mail on behalf of the same group too.......It's what I was told last time I was in there about 2 months ago...
  22. I too am an outdoor / open air drinker/diner ......Were you refering to Coins or 18 Coins opposite???
  23. I've just dribbled over my keyboard..........."Home made rum truffles".....
  24. For "Decorative panels" read "Visual distraction" during the day and "Headlight distortion" at night...
  25. For many years I spent Xmas at a friend's house in CR. It also doubled as his eldest daughter's birthday so was quite a big gathering. I guess I moved down here about 4 years ago and also spent it around a friend's house. One thing is for sure, if I am by myself, I will go to Bite Me at 11 am opening...Peter is an excellent bloke and the whole place reminds me of Doug and Yim in Soi Rangnam......Although Peter has yet to ban me and reinstate me the next morning!!! I noticed the Devonshire (my old regiment) is interestingly priced per course which suits me as I wouldn't eat a pud anyway....I think it is 150/399/120 for each course...
