I think the micro-brewery there was ahead of its time....I think it closed much the same time that Brauhaus on Beach road opened .....But it had to compete with the soi 2 + 3 bars so not much chance of anybody enjoying a decent dark homebrew beer (they weren't called craft beers then I think) when they could have a Singha and BJ for the same price across the street

190 Baht for Phad Thai..??? 6 x King Prawns for 225 Baht look excellent value but just leave them in Garlic, suck the meat and juices out the head and wash it down with Hazelnut Brown Ale.........I would have thought 6 x King prawns would be under mains or a starter for 3 people so it looks well worth a visit!!

I noticed today in Big C the welcome return of Wolf Blass Chardonnay at 500 baht a bottle......It was my favourite tipple when TOPS first opened and I asked them to keep it in the fridge. The day started by taking a bottle down the beach with freshly steamed crab but always ended sending the girl of the day back to buy more..

I used to love having a dark beer sitting outside the German microbrewery there .....and having food inside at night listening to the band......It was replaced by Toys R Us, then Pizza Hut and now this.......All lacking a heart and soul.. Do tourists really want local food carts removed from the street both here and in Bangkok..?? ...If this is what they want why not stay at home ???

The chilli burger looks lush!!.... Each time I have taken a walk around that loop the GC tables were all being used so never had the chance to eat in there......but I have memories of going into one of the bars opposite (Metro?) and seeing that they had a GC menu....Perhaps you know which ones offer GC food and let us know...
