  1. It had a long wooden patio frontage for table dining (rather than stool/bench dining). All signs seem to be in Thai but I think it was part of the "Ete" chain. Most customers were Asian ( not sure which as I couldn't pick up any conversation as I walked past) with a couple of farang. The Asians seem to be in seperate groups rather than one whole tour group... I had my heart set on some craft beer so didn't take much more notice than that ....and it was full anyway...
  2. If one can afford craft beer one can afford Gaviscon can't one? Darling....
  3. Hahaha .....Yeh, buying Gaviscon..
  4. The place next door to Jim's was packed out when I went around 1pm.....
  5. After the closure of Bite Me I was out looking for a good choice of craft beer this morning so I first went to Robin Hood and there was nothing on offer I fancied so decided to hit Jim's Burgers for a lovely hazelnut brown ale.......But it was closed....and yes EP clearly states that it opens at 5pm........ Not my best day. In fact the most exciting part was dodging the kids riding the mobile elephants in Marina....
  6. Also that they offer the same choice of wine and craft beers rather than Mont Clair take it ir leave it. I really do wish the crew all the best and hope it is a very succesful venture but Retox "loyal followers" can spread thin on the ground if faced with same old same old..... I think it is bad order to knock somebody's rice bowl but how can you compare the female floor manager in Retox yelling at the servers in front of customers to the sublime people and customer management in Bite Me..??? Unfortunetely it is the size of the new place not access that deters me from going as "the personal touch" and customer interaction will get swallowed up in there..... But Good Luck to the team ...plastic pubs seem to be doing well going by the number of that ilk in business...but it's not for me..... Also my other watering hole, Super Lek's, opened and closed in 2016. I seem to have an adverse effect on new business' so perhaps it is better that I stay away..
  7. Thank You MM + thank you Pattaya Talk!! I was going in there today for a very, very long lunch - For health reasons I hadn't been out for a while and didn't know I loved the place and loved chatting to the girls. It was the size of the place that appealed to me just as much as the food and staff. It reminded me so much of my favourite Isaan/American refueling hole on Soi Rangnam in the mid '90s. The only place in Pattaya where I felt comfortable to let myself go and get "relaxed out of my head" .....Don't think I shall go to The Avenue. Shame! EDIT = The girls have moved here http://robinhoodpattaya.com/ ?? ........ .......
  8. Exactly the same as me in the UK...Exactly as you say.... For those unaware, if you snuff it in Thailand, the heirs get your stuff in the following order.... (Your missus is 7th on the list....) descendants parents brothers and sisters of full blood brothers and sisters of half blood grandparents uncles and aunts The surviving spouse is a statutory heir, subject to the special provisions of Section 1635 Civil and Commercial Code
  9. Magna have confirmed at 5,000 for me because it is a simple affair..
  10. Magna Carta are currently saying "Starts at 5,000"
  11. Sorry. What I meant to say is please can you recommend a good cheap wine and where to buy it and perhaps let us know how much it is...
  12. Does anybody have any recommendations with example costs???? Today I was walking around the outside of Tucom and popped into the solicitors opposite Deli Diner and they quoted 10,000 baht.
  13. I am tempted to believe that I used him in Yangon around 5 years ago....If so, he is an excellent doctor.. Just checked his CV...it wasn't him..
  14. For basic ailments you are really just paying extra for "the queue and the view"....I suppose it depends on how much you value your free time...
  15. What happened to the post that bumped the thread? I will want the same for my daughter...
  16. I thought this was leading up to a punchline.......
  17. Hi Peter, please pass my seasonal greetings to all of your beautiful, hard working team....things have been quite hectic here in the slums and I look forward to catching you for a drink ......You can only drink so much Hongthong and Tom Sep before your palate craves seared tuna and Barolo Reserve..!! As you might guess I have been banned from "Live"......again....... Martin
  18. It would be interesting to see what time each of you went... Personnally speaking my bill in Hippopo was 3,000 baht for the 2 of us for about 2 hours of eating and drinking....... it was a decision made because of shoes rather than the culinary experience.... but it turned out perfectly
  19. EP's plate looks like he had just finished eating and the small amount of meat on the plate were left overs...
  20. That meal in Hooters looks shocking! It was a chance to show their wares to a greater audience and from what I see on here it shot itself in the foot..... My daughter and I were so close to deciding to go there BUT because I'd agreed to let her go shopping in Central I had "Xmas Dinner" in Hippopo in Central then hit the cocktail menu whilst she shopped...
  21. When it first opened it was perfect for taking food and drink to the beach.......but times change I'm afraid...
  22. How many of them are married or in permanent relationships???? How many have you known for 15 years or more? Your double standards are shocking... At least I am only talking about one!!
