  1. I thought you guys called it "Soccer", the regular transatlantic variation, whilst we in the U.K call it "Football".

  4. Sorry getting mixed up with "Sizzler" in Royal Garden. BTW "Beef Eater" is a chain in the UK. http://www.beefeater.co.uk/. Didn't know if the Pattaya one was an offshoot !
  5. Is this the same "Beef Eater" chain as the one in Royal Garden Plaza fronting second road ?
  6. As usual Mr F your pics are very interesting, thanks for posting. By golly that guillotine looks a fearsome device although, really, it's nothing to lose your head about.!
  7. There are similarities bongo, particularly the engine cowling, but I think it is a Curtis P-40 Warhawk. Any experts out there ? http://www.world-war-2-planes.com/p-40-warhawk.html
  8. Your pictorial reports are very much appreciated. First class stuff. Many thanks !
  9. Perhaps also worth noting that you can choose your seat online100 days prior to the flight with EVA, or has that changed since I last flew with them ?
  10. Evil. Many thanks for the pics and write up.This is a must visit for me next trip. I've been fascinated by this type of 3D art work ever since I saw pavement drawings by Julian Beever. He does stuff all over Europe and visited my home city a year or so ago. He must have been one of the pioneers for this type of art. http://www.julianbeever.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1&Itemid=1
  11. Spent many an early morning there. Never had a bad meal yet !
  12. It's an abbreviation for "Promenade Concerts", an "English/British Institution", if you like, usually held in London's Royal Albert Hall. Lots of waving the Union Jack flag and "Land of Hope and Glory" and "stiff upper lip" old boy !The orchestra conductor always has a bit of fun and repartee with the audience ! see link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Proms
  13. A decent full english breakfast is to be had at Queen Victoria, Soi 6, Pattaya Beer Garden, Sea Fresh(Thrappraya Rd) and many many more. Not sure about the Earl Grey tea though, but I've had a decent cuppa in all of these !
  14. As sure as I can be, and I appreciate its got "Lone Star" in the title surely it must be ? Everything else seems to add up along with the menu similarities as Bobs BBQ !
  15. Soi Lengkee for the Lone Star Texas Grill http://www.lonestarpattaya.com/
  16. Not sure whether you're buying in UK or else where, but whatever, why not try "PANDORA" ? Stores are in most cities in the uk and worldwide. http://www.pandora.net/en-gb There is an infinite selection of charms and baubles and (for info)there is a store at Central Festival area of Pattaya, also one in Royal Garden Plaza. The brand is International. The bracelets are very strong and secure. Build it up through the years.Charms start at around £30 sterling right up to the sky is almost the limit. I'm sure she will love the idea.
  17. No, but this may help http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g293919-d1174227-Reviews-Romeo_Palace_Hotel-Pattaya_Chonburi_Province.html#REVIEWS
  18. Love the dumb mute one !
  19. Whilst I acknowledge there are numerous places to eat/breakfast in the vicinity I have always found that the ten minute walk up the road to "Seafresh" http://www.seafreshpattaya.com/ was well worth it. Ate there on many occasions last trip. Was always given a warm welcome and the food was always freshly cooked and of good quality.I looked upon the walk as part of a daily exercise/constitutional.This place is also "family friendly", clean and efficiently run. I see their website now advertises a home delivery option. Ideal for R.G residents.
  20. There used to be "Formula One" cafe over the road, not sure if it's still there, as I haven't been for a couple of years, but if so, it was ok for a breakfast. In the R.G itself the breakfast menu, I think, still finishes sometime mid/late morning, then its on to the menu proper. Certainly agree about the walk to Walking street. That works up a nice thirst
