  2. Chicken Surprise A couple go for a meal at a Chinese restaurant and order the 'Chicken Surprise'. The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot. Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back down. 'Good grief, did you see that?' she asks her husband. He hadn't, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes looking around before it slams down. Rather perturbed, he calls the waiter over, explai
  3. Hi Glyn, these were two smart long pleated sleeve "dress" shirts also with a pleat in the back, in a satin/silk material, with a special collar. The choice of material was mine and was as near a match to the original(Gordon Bennett)shirt that I took over for Par to copy. So YMMV dependant on choice of material.I paid 1300 baht total for the two shirts and a pair of casual trousers. I believe she said the shirts worked out at 400 baht each, plus the price of the trousers(500). I think thats about what it was.I gave her a generous tip on top of that anyway in appreciation of the e
  4. Give this lady a try. She(Par)made me two shirts on my recent trip this last month. She took me to choose the material, which I paid for separately, and then produced two beautiful shirts. She is very fast, efficient and reasonably priced and I thoroughly recommend her work. Details of her location opposite Wat Choi Mongkol temple on Pattaya Tai are included in the thread link below. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/44944-talented-seamstress/page__p__704334__hl__%2Btalented+%2Bseamstress__fromsearch__1#entry704334

  6. Many thanks MM.I had kinda chanced upon it previously but damned if I could get it back.I'm sure the explanations will be of benefit to other BMs who were maybe reluctant to ask. Thanks again.

  14. A "dead leg" is something done typically by say schoolboys at playtime/recreation time in the school yard. It involves a bang on the upper leg muscle of the person in receipt by the perpertrator who will effect the blow by raising his knee into the one thats getting the dead leg. This can be particularly painful resulting in a semi paralysis of the upper fleshy part of the leg . As for being winded. Its when you are unable to catch your breath after say having a blow to the stomach area or falling heavily when playing a rough contact sport such as Rugby Union. "Winding" the baby is j
  15. It's all to do with the tradition of English Pantomime. This is a seasonal,(Christmas or New Year) show mainly for the kids but Mum and Dad will come along too most of the time. Such shows are based on fiction such as Jack and The Beanstalk, Alladin and his Lamp or perhaps Babes in the Wood . The leading character is often an attractive female who is dressed up as a dashing young male hero, and there is in the cast a pantomime dame along with an "evil baddie" who is always out to commit heinous crimes to our panto hero. Throughout the pantomime this charcater will often creep up behin

  20. To the best of my knowledge, with EVA AIR and whether or not you get Air Miles accumulation depends on the class of the ticket, not who you booked it through. As a rule of thumb the cheaper the cost of the ticket, the less likely you are to get any airmiles accumulation. For example on the West East website after you have selected your flight preferences and you have pressed the "radio buttons" there is a small blue link, (lower left hand side), "Fare Rules" which describes in great detail the available options/otherwise with that class of ticket.
  21. I'm still looking for a digital super zoom camera since losing my Panasonic Lumix TZ5, and like the OP, was seeking a replacement. Noticed the other day that Panasonic has announced the Lumix TZ20 and TZ18, both 14.1 Mega Pixel, featuring 16 x Zoom lenses, and very impressive HD Movie capablities. GPS/Non GPS. Link here http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Panasoni...0/verdict.shtml The TZ20 looks set to retail at around £350, the TZ18, with not so many bells and whistles a bit less, and AFAIK both will be available in March this year. Hopefully that price will reduce in a fairly shor
