  1. Can you read all road signs in Thailand, China, France, and Iceland?
  2. A friend of mine got a ticket here in the states for basically nothing, but he decided to dispute it right or wrong. He ended up having to make three trips to the court house and the case was eventually thrown out because the policeman had no desire to appear in court when he was working night shift. The lost work time probably cost the the guy $1000. The policeman obviously never intended to show for court. He knew the inconvienance would be punishment enough for the offense.
  3. Thanks for the explaination slimboy. Every business has problems but how they handle them is what sets them apart.
  4. Any person who held a Visa-, MasterCard- or Diners Club-branded credit, charge or debit/ATM card issued in the United States as of November 8, 2006 is a member of the Settlement Injunctive Class. Those persons who made a foreign transaction using a Visa-, MasterCard-, or Diners Club- branded credit, charge or debit/ATM card between February 1, 1996 and November 8, 2006 are members of the Settlement Damages Class. The website is http://www.ccfsettlement.com There are three different ways they are settling. Option 1. Get a straight $25 refund. Option 2. Get a 1% refund of transactions predicted based on amount of travel. Option 3. Show records and get up to a 3% refund. I suspect this only applies to Americans but may not be the case. I would think that some of the Retires that live off of their cards will get a big refund. Now if this information actually helps anyone, you owe me a drink.

This is in contrast to many state say something to the effect that anyone looking younger than 30 must show ID. Any business caught not inforcing the law will lose their beer/liquier license. The irony is that when I was a teenager in Tennesse I actually bought beer at drive through Weigels on a bicycle. My how times have changed.

  15. Jet in Thailand Crashes, 100 Feared Dead 40 minutes ago BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) — A passenger plane heading to one of Thailand's leading tourist destinations crashed Sunday as it tried to land in heavy rain and was engulfed in flames. A regional official said as many as 100 people were feared dead. Worapot Ratthaseema, deputy governor of Thailand's Phuket island, said that as many as 100 were dead, based on assessments that as few as 20 passengers made it of the wreck alive. "I believe 90 percent or about 100 passengers are fear dead," Worapot said, adding that Phuket airport in southern Thailand had been temporarily closed following the crash of the One-Two-GO jet. THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below. BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) — A One-To-Go Airlines jet crashed and was engulfed in flames as it attempted to land in heavy rain at the Phuket airport in southern Thailand on Sunday, authorities said. Maj. Gen. Deecha Butnamphet, police chief in Phuket, said on local television station TITV that "we believe that there are many people who are dead. We are taking the dead and injured out from the scene. "The airplane is completely destroyed and inflamed," he said. It wasn't immediately known how many people were on board, though TITV said without citing sources that 123 mostly foreign tourists were the passengers, which was traveling from Bangkok to Phuket, a popular resort area for tourists. TITV reported 60 dead, but Chaisak Angsuwan, director general of the Air Transport Authority of Thailand, could not confirm that. Angsuwan told The Associated Press by telephone he believes "there are people dead, but the number is still unclear." Earlier, Angsuwan had told TITV that there was heavy rain when One-To-Go airlines flight OG269 from Bangkok to Phuket attempted to make a landing. One-To-Go, a budget airline, is owned Orient Thai Airways. "The visibility was poor as the pilot attempted to land. He decided to make a go-around but the plane lost balance and crashed. It was torn into two parts," he said.

  19. Taken from an online news paper is a warning about the condition of the dollar. DECATUR, Ala. - A Thailand-based company announced plans Friday to develop a plant in north Alabama that will employ about 100 people. AlphaPet, a new subsidiary of Indorama Polymers of Bangkok, will manufacture polyethylene terephthalate resin at the $160 million plant in Decatur. The resin is used to make packaging materials for soft drinks and other beverages and liquids. Gov. Bob Riley joined CEO Aloke Lohia to announce the company's second plant in the United States. The first, StarPet, is in Asheboro, N.C. "We are very pleased that AlphaPet and Indorama have chosen Decatur as the location for their largest and most modern manufacturing facility, and we pledge to continue working with the company to make sure their operation in our state is very successful," the governor said at a news conference. The company plans to begin work on the plant immediately, Lohia said.

In return for a fee, the website would qualify the participants. Similiar to EBay but specialized to air travel.
