  1. Sorry Vic but Moray Awl was simply the better team once again. They really have it together at the moment. Crosby and Malkin aren't in a slump, they are in a hard-checking, forechecking vice. They can't break loose. Pens went the whole first half of the second period without a shot. For example. Pens can win but I have to give half a goal to les Habs now, back at the Mellon. .
  2. Okay but we were more interested in details about your luggage. Sorry, but some straight lines just sit there and go, PLEASE comment on me. .
  3. Scam? SCAM?? You can search the news sites for this one. A US Army captain (West Point) has been convicted of stealing $700,000 in aid money. The guy stole CASH when stationed in Iraq, and he had to mail it home to himself, the kindly officers who arrested him found $300,000 in his attic. I have no real doubt this was the guy who emailed me numerous times for help in getting money out of Iraq. If only I'd not been so suspicious about so-called "scams"! This is real. Here is one news story about it. Scam you say? Oh ye of sceptical bent! .
  4. Sigh. How wrong can one person be in one thread? I realise you think you are a spectacular thread-phuocker, but I specifically asked you to read before replying. It was ever such good advice for you. I guess you didn't read the advice either. There's a clue field just south of Pattaya where they hand out free clues all day. Have a gander. Do you good just to pick up a couple, since you're obviously in dire need. I think that figure of 130,000 tickets sold to Americans include the 129,000 sold to the superior American scalpers. I have to say that the Canucks AND the Hawks surprised me. I wouldn't put more than a coin against a large bill on it, but based on Monday's game, Vancouver COULD do what I thought they'd do at the start, and actually win. They were quite good. Chicago was not, looked as shaky as the Sharks in their Game 5. I still say the Philly-Boston series is the most entertaining of the quarter-finals. By coincidence, there's an excellent doco on the Broad Street Bullies going around right now that I torrented, very well done history -- ALL from the Philadelphia side but very watchable. Something I actually had forgotten was that Bill Clement was on that team, the guy that did ESPN hockey colour for a long time. .
  5. You Kiwis are a bunch of idiots who can't even read and haven't a lick of sense. And THINK ABOUT IT before you answer, jackass. There is an actual, real message in there for you. See if you can find it before it slaps your silly gay face. .
  6. Slap Stick!! hahahahahahahaha SLAP STICK! Gonzo, phuock off and start your own thread. What is it with you "people" that you have to JUMP on other people's threads with inane, stupid, uninformed, nonsensical horse puckey. Slap Stick. heh. hahahahaha Don't make me laugh my lips are chapped. How STUPID can one thread phuocker be? Slap Stick!! Jagoff .
  7. Singapore is a red flag because mules LOVE to go through Singapore and think they're clean because they went through Singapore. But customs guys think like drug mules -- they know Singapore is tough on drugs, but they also know Singapore doesn't find any more drugs than any other country. So it's "why did this guy spend a couple of days in Singapore, to get clean hmmmm????" .
  8. Really! I saw the second and most of the third period and I thought the Sharks were very tentative all of a sudden. And to cap it, a VERY undisciplined penalty to give Detroit 6 on 5 at the end. Again, teams have bad nights but two games in a row San Jose didn't look.... what? confident! The Thornton line had some moments but all in all not an inspiring finish. I presume they get Chicago, and they won't intimidate the Hawks. This MIGHT get interesting of a sudden. .
  9. You get searched, or what? .
  10. Well, that is easy. She WILL NOT break free. There are almost no exceptions. Thais, particularly women, do not ever leave their families. Do not count on this at all, there is almost no chance you'll see it. And what jacko said, in general. Taking the mother to the UK is the worst idea in the thread. .
  11. Talk about your off nights!! For all that, I don't think Detroit was that excellent, as much as San Jose was stumblin and fumblin. Nabokov... well, they could have had me in there for about the same result. It was either one bad hair day or the beginning of the worst NHL collapse since 1942. Chicago-Vancouver is very unimpressive. The last four East teams are putting on good entertainment but .... If they awarded the Cup on paper, I think the Sharks get it easily IF they win Game 5. .
  12. This is sort of what I was going to suggest. To the OP - what you are writing, you are saying you are NOT in the family and you're showing no inclination to be in it. Why not consider not being such an outsider? If you are in the family, then all those problems you have disappear. If you're actually serious, 20K a month is an awful lot for the hositility you're getting. There could be more to this story perhaps?? .
  13. Yes. Through LA I usually have less than two hours to a domestic flight and have never been rushed about it. Naturally that depends on being on time arriving, and on the nice Customs agents. But LAX is quite efficient. Be aware you'll probably have to catch a bus from the international terminal to the proper domestic terminal. . .
  14. Well, so much for lesser sports like baseball, American football and hockey, never mind the doomed Nascar. Too bad, it looked for a while like soccer might make an impact, but it's all over now: New Zealand's Black Caps, the national cricket team, and the Sri Lanka national team will play a three match, Twenty20 series in Lauderhill, Florida, in May to launch a new strategic partnership between USA Cricket and New Zealand Cricket. The event makes sporting history, according to the organizers, as the first international matches to be played in the United States by full members of the International Cricket Council, the sport's governing body. Twenty20 is a shortened format of the game. The last time the sport made significant history in the United States was in 1844, according to news releases, with a Canada v United States match that was the first international sporting event between two nations in world history. Gitcher tickets! .
  15. I'd say 99.999 to 0.001 but only because I never say "never". I agree that it's what worries the hell out of people because people aren't rational. In the real world, it's probably more likely you'll win 2,000 baht on the Thai lottery or get a free taxi ride to Pattaya or screw the stewardess on your flight to Bangkok than having the airport closed. Well, yes. The army WOULD definitely, absolutely let "them" if "they" tried. Don't think the army can/would/should stop "them". To the OP: Your friends are nuts. You must ignore them but you can safely mock them. .
  16. For sheer watchability, this Boston-Philly series is a real thriller - up and down the ice and just very exciting hockey. First game was overtime, I think there were like two whistles in about 18 minutes. Boston is up 2-0 but it could easily be 1-1 or 0-2, it's that close and that much fun, all-out all the time. .
  17. Good report, Plahgat, as always. Only missing your usual pics of the babes encountered. It may have a sign saying that. The people who put up the signs pay for them. But it is first, last and uniquely the "Utapao Royal Thai Navy Airfield". .
  18. Of whom four have tickets? Terribly wrong. You could argue wrong-headedly that he is currently the second best player in the world, and I would understand your bias. But he most definitely doesn't suck. His series against World Number 2 Sid the Kid last year was classic. Preaching to the choir. I still have a very noticeable mark from one I took at age 8. I only saw the last 25 minutes of the Thursday morning game but I simply was gaping open-mouthed of the incredible skill of Montreal at it. Caps totally dominated the play, Montreal totally deserved the W. Mind you, not even half those blocks "took" anything at all, they were off sticks and skates. Very, very few of them were sliding into the shot. But that didn't make it suck. It was a hugely skillful performance. .
  19. Fantastic job, never heard of that many blocks. Stunning. Washington totally dominated the game, but the Habs got the job done. Tell you though, it all came down to THE worst defensive lapse of about one second in the third period, four minutes to go. ONE mistake and it gave the Moray Awls their second goal and Caps came right back and got their first -- without that one solitary error by the Caps, it would have gone to OT. Good for the Moray Awls, they went and won it. .
  20. VERY impressive. Who would have thought they could do English? .
  21. Brothers from the same small town!?! Heck of a coincidence. Heh. Anyhow. Fastest three goals off the third man on that line. Hell of a record. 21 seconds! There's a record that is truly unlikely to be broken. .
  22. Hard to believe. Europe doesn't subsidise. That is a well known, frequently reported FACT. Did anyone notice that several days after this sensational story of panic at Bangkok International Airport broke, that the Daily Mail is still exclusive, that no other media has managed to match or better this story? So did I. Join the line of socialism-drugged "it's not my fault" Europeans, then. Sorry, but to me a "crisis" is just a teensy bit more than being stranded somewhere with free food, board and entertainment. Do British embassies do loans? I don't think so, but if they do, I doubt they STOPPED doing loans because of a volcano 10,000 miles away. .
  23. This Round of 16 as the Brits call it has been damned good -- MOSTLY on form, but goodbye Buffalo, which floored me. AND New Jersey. That pushed Lemaire through the door. Marvelous coach, but truly I wish he had never invented the bloody zone defence. I only got to watch the last half of the Montreal game but they really brought it -- very slick and superior to the Caps on the night. I'd risk about, oh, 10 baht on the Caps in Game 7 but not much more - Moray All might have one more game in them. Ah, you old chicken-counter, you. You bypassed the hatchery again. .
  24. Fair enough, but what crisis was there and what help was provideable? "These people" are to represent the UK government and do whatever boosts British interests (at the pleasure of the government of course). The idea that they work for British citizens is actually wrong. It *is* nice when they do it, but it's not what "they are for." I would guess that the person at the airport was sent there to do a report on what the British mobs were doing at the airport and how things were going with them -- since there was no actual crisis in progress. Just a guess, mind you. .
  25. Now, now, don't sell yourself short. You ought to hear what these guys say when you're not here. I try to defend you, but they never listen, mind-stuck buggers. .
