  1. I'd like to read some other couples' trip reports! Wehey! Andy Cap
  2. Yes, you can get it from a cart for 35 baht or in the No Name at North Buakhao market for 50 baht etc etc etc etc. (In that respect expensive "sort of" - but not by how much you would pay for it in any restaurant in Pattaya where you can also get farang food).
  3. It's mostly the inexpensiveness of the farang food that's the draw Parkwahn. Going to put up one of the good Thai ones IOHO...
  4. "Swinging in Pattaya" - paying for s*x is not swinging (bloody awful word - says nothing). "Swingers" (cringe) look around for other people to have s*x with for free. Much easier to come to Pattaya and pay for some p*ssy. End of story. All good advice above - have the courage to ask for what you want (before you spend a lot on lady drinks) and go ahead. If you're looking for other couples, go to Cap d'Agde like the Dutch people above said. If you're looking for extra guys, go online (millions of them all around wherever you live). The BM who talked about "loss of face" is partia
  5. It is impossible to recommend the accommodation at Malee Apartment as the building is wracked with maintenance issues but all that is eclipsed by the price, quality.variety and value of its restaurant. The Thai food is great and good value.- zero to mega-spicy - all around 100-200 baht a dish PAD THAI 100 baht SQUID KRAPOW 125 baht? The Western food is great and good value - try the burgers CLUB SANDWICH 99 baht They have Dutch and Indonesian dishes PORK SATAY as the owner (he who is stingy on maintenance) is Dutch The real treat is the 99 baht daily special which see
  6. Thanks Jacko! Still available from 7/11 I see, so same procedure as usual.
  7. As a visitor I would also like to have the answer to MLC's question. I'm bringing my own unlocked phone. Please keep it simple because I am.... :) Andy
  8. Many thanks frosty and jacko. I'll look into both your fixes before leaving here. Cheers Andy
  9. Lots of Ancient Greeks (3rd 4th generation) in Alexandria.... I went to university there in '81/'82. Are we still rolling?
  10. Walking along it one night ankle deep after rain, the missus took off her shoes. I told her to put them back on. "You can always get new shoes"......(shudder....)
  11. Can we go there next month Uncle Evil, please Uncle Evil, PLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEE? (even with terrible Euro rate, it still looks good, and how many times have we said we should.....) All the best, Andy
  12. Should have put this in Technical Problems and Questions or course - doh!
  13. Massive LOL jacko! Right there in 11 days time. Cheers, Andy
  14. Hello All Soon to head to Pattaya with tablet and Chromecast. Question 1 I use the HMA Pro (Hide My Ass) virtual personal network in France and connect to UK media via the "France, Paris - Virtual UK" node. I'm confused. In Thailand should I use the "Thailand, Bangkok" node? Surely that will show me as being in Thailand and I won't have access to UK-only media. If I use a UK node will it work/be of sufficient quality? Any HMA users on the board? How do you do it? Question 2 I can't get my Chromecast, "connected" to my home wi-fi box in France to cast UK-only me
  15. works here in France.. Interesting that the profits are shared equally between federations, didn't know that!
  16. Is that the hand that's not doing something else, or am I reading too much into the post. Brilliant stuff MM; thanks. Only useful for about two of my students but, as I'm sitting at work, I'm putting it on Facebook so Bushcraft can see it again. My favo(u)rite is number (#) 14 (original and Bushcraft flavo(u)rs). Going to wade through (thru?) the rest now.......! Cheers Andy
  17. All a bit same-same-but-different, focusing mostly on the weird and wonderful (the tourists I mean). Six episodes was about enough, right? There'll be people feigning injury just to get to visit the clinic and see the doctor (Geng) who's a pop star, people pushing-in at immigration just to get Captain A to move them back and switching lines so that Captain Jack stamps their passport (ching, ching) - Flo will say it's the start of the holiday, let's have fun NOW! Women, eh? Andy Cap
  18. Ditto.... both looked dangerous (the refreshing drink and the refreshing boobs). Looks like a "day-off" destination for August MM - thanks for the post.
  19. BM Dungheap is a good contact too...
  20. Probably a good guess MM, although the mother is "studying law" so the daughter had better watch herself..... Some "ordinary" boring people in episode 3 ! Couple who picked up the wrong bag (your name's on it dufus) and 'meek bloke' who might inherit the earth but went to the back of the queue when told by Captain A leaving his wife at the front.... More nutcases please! Andy Cap
  21. Have saved last night's episode to watch tonight. Wasn't that girl Toy in customer service in episode 2 the more typical example? Face like thunder and constantly on the phone AND she was in the last three for the award that VAT man won! (oh sorry keyman, I see you covered that...) The Brits are all complete arseholes - think they'll show it in Thailand with subtitles! Riveting!
  22. That looked like the bit next to "our" immigration where the ASEAN nationals arrive. When the immigation guy "Captain Jack" asked "why you come to Thailand" (with a smile) to the Indian-looking guy he nearly s*a* himself! AC
  23. So it must be true!!! Either that or they turn either way..... I'm confused now. Can one bus turn both ways? Andy P.S. I hear some bahtbuses are being fitted with DNA testing machines (you'll just feel a little prick.....) on the right hand pole you use to pull yourself up to get on the bus, the aim being to test for Slavic blood and thence intended destination. However, the intention in the medium term is to detect American and southern British blood and to branch out into partnerships with dodgy lawyers on paternity suits, which will, in turn, be made by other partners, par
  24. They go both ways of course. IMHO the driver flips a coin in his head as he approaches the lights and makes his mind up based on: - where he fancies going - where he thinks the most business will be some cynics would say - where the least of the current passengers want to go (I don't think that's true - bad karma) To stay on topic... It's the same when you take the bahtbus north on soi Buakhao from LK Metro (aha! on topic) it rarely turns east on Klang (never seen it) but at Klang/2nd might turn right for soi 6 etc. or go straight for Beach Road and Walking Street - win/win. Wehe
  25. Pigeon: "Just a few more pecks and CONCREEEEEEEEEETE" Looks like the Moke girl in the fish nets has aircon..... Andy
