I have taken trains three times over 18 years (Bangkok to Chiang Mai in a 1st class sleeper car, Hua Hin to Bangkok in 2nd class sleeper and finally BKK to Pattaya in cheap charley class) I recall it was not the most comfortable ride, seats were a pain in the butt almost immediately. Schedules are not for anyone expecting to get to the destination even close to ontime. Still, if you fancy something different, go for it. Massages to work out pains are cheap :-)

I was in line for 4 1/2 hours and got to the temple gates at 3. Not sure what circuit you refer to but but at 3 it was several short lines to get a flower and then to the plates to present it. Just how many people are interested in an open jaw flight out of LA and then having to find a way from Kuala Lumpor to Bangkok. The flight you show is the last one that day. Later flight means next day or shelping bags to Haneda for a midnight deoarture. How does the representative help if your arrival in NRT is 60 minutes late? ANA's website says minimum of 45 minutes connection time...but that is only for no costs to you not a guarantee that you will make the connection. They certainly will not delay the departing flight for a few passengers, especially if it is already oversold. The trip meets that requirement so you would not be out of pocket for changes and they would reschedule you on the next available flight.... Maybe a different airline. Maybe the next day. Off the plane, Security screening and getting to the next gate has taken me as little as 10minutes ( business class or front row coach seats, premium security line and no other flights arriving minutes before) to and as long as 45 minutes with long security lines due to bad timing on arrival. Arriving 30 minutes late ( not a longshot on a 10 hour international flight) late and they rush you through security with your carryon, good luck on checked bags though. Flying Cheap Charley airlines with terrible connections to save a few dollars is not for me. I do not want to emulate OJ running through airports outbound and then resting hours on the way back You have never missed a short connection relying on flights to arrive ontime and/or connections departing late? Must either not fly much or been very lucky. I applaud your luck. My experiences have been very different. Most people really want to get to their destination rather then hoping nothing goes wrong. But then what could possibly go wrong flying these days? I only wish my schedule is as flexible as yours one day. But even then, the few $$ you are saving still wouldn't be worth it for me. A simple flight tracker search shows arrival times for the flight from LAX tendto be early....... BUT the flght departing LAX on 19 July arrived in Narita at 1644. Your 55 minute connection just shortend to 31 minutes. Unless you are flying in business class, are afrequent flyer with status to get preferential treatment and special security line access or counting on a delayed departure for your connection, you better hope that no other flights arrived a few minutes before yours. I prefer to have enough time to comfortable go through the security line and board early enough to still have room for my small carryon in the bin and not last where I will be sitting on the bag for hours. But whatever floats your boat

They fly to HND from there. I was only looking at flights to NRT when they still had the NRT-BKK flight. No way would I fly into Haneda and depart from Narita. Moot point now since they have stopped Bangkok flights.

The passengers on flights with no IFE systems would be in for a rude awakening if the US ever does ban electronics larger than cellphones. As for long non-stops, I can see it being a bit more convenient for passengers not to connect in A hub, but the airlines would have to see a market for daily flights to that market. The hub system was setup to enable airlines to fly full planes by consolidating pasengers from many depature points onto one flight to the destination. With more non-stops, many passengers would by SOL. I fly Delta and had to always connect in Tokyo to get to BKK. They now have only 4 US departures ( SEA, PDX, DET and ATL I think) to Tokyo and have dropped BKK completely. The market does not support flying more non-stops from USA. Anyone flying from a LAX, SFO, ORD, IAD..... are forced to fky to a delarture city. If non-stops from more cities are started, it is likely to be a few times a week and not daily.

Just when would the airline accept a bid? I would suspect that as the flight fills, the amount bid would have to increase and low bids would not be accepted until the airline is almost certain they could not sell them. At say 50% full, you would expect a low bid to be accepted. At 90% full it would need to be close to the full price. Once on the plane, how would you feel seeing most people not travelling as a group having an empty seat that you just paid for. Another problem would be the possibilty of someone in a full row wanting to move to a row with only 1 person in it ( but paid for 2 empty seats). With the problems already seen like fights over reclining , i could see this being an issue

I had that same issue on my 3GS. Went to a phone shop in Tukcom and they fixed me right up and turned off internet. As for your old Iphone, if it is truely an original iPhone, it is worth a few bucks.... Apple never actually had an Iphone 2 but some people refer to the original as the Iphone 2 because it only supported 2g. Some Thai providers have said they will no longer support 2G, Not sure if that ever happened though

Not much has changed. The road is alot busier and the baht buses have to make a left at the overpass. Rooms are still nice. If you ask nicely they still give you the rate (1500) they did before...at least for me :-)
