  1. No video of this? There is a huge difference in the version of events from each side.
  2. United should have kept increasing the cash offers. However, once the decsion was made to forcibly remove passenegrs, 3 went peacefully and 1 choose to refuse. It amazes me that passengers do not understand the the contract they agree to, BUT NEVER READ, when they buy their tickets. This contract is written to protect the airline and not the passneger. The airline can refuse service for a number of reasons withonly limited liabilty. In this case however the nuclear option is getting the coverage. United is blamed for everything but once they called the police to remove the passenger, they
  3. "The U.S. CFR Title 14, Part 1, Section 1.1 defines "pilot in command" as:[3] ...the person who: Has final authority and responsibility for the operation and safety of the flight; Has been designated as pilot in command before or during the flight; and Holds the appropriate category, class, and type rating, if appropriate, for the conduct of the flight." If you truely believe that he does not have the authority to remove disruptive passengers at the gate, try showing up drunk and making a scene and see what happens. If have watched 2 different times where the captain came and
  4. The article you provided a link for is the only one I can find that says they were "stand-by" everything else I have seen says they were a flight crew needed for a flight the following morning. The UA CEO is defending the employees. It may seem harsh and unfair, but the airplane Captain is GOD. Once the passenger was told to leave, he was in fact breaking the law when he refused. Also, while United is getting the most crticism, it was in fact the Chicago airline police that removed the passenger. Once they were called to handle the disruptive passeneger ( by refusing to leave) it was pret
  5. If overbooking were banned, the airlines would be flying planes with lots of empty seats since passengers on full fare changeable tickets tend to be no shows. While working, I would guess that I changed to a different return flight close too 1/2 the time. To compensate for passengers that do that, Airlines would probably make the tickets valid for ONLY the flight you reserved. Changes would be permitted ahead of time (24 hours) but the cost would be such that it is better to toss the ticket and buy a new one. (Cebu Pacific comes to mind but I am sure there are other low cost carriers). Miss
  6. First off, as far as I can tell, they were not "Stand by" passengers, they were an aircrew that was need in Louisville for a flight the following morning. The flight in question was a puddle jumper that was operated by Republic airlines according to the reports I have read. Looking at the schedule for that route, only United has a non-stop, with one of those flights operated by Republic airlines and 4 operated by Trans States Airlines. The schedule shows that the Republic flight leaves at 5:41 PM with one later flight at 9PM operated by Trans States Airlines. In addition, to United, Am
  7. I would call them firm....exactly like I like mine. If you are used to sleeping on something very soft, then they would probably be too hard. However, I have had rooms in Thailand where the mattress is hard as a rock and the mattresses here are nowhere near that hard.
  8. I would bet not only frozen and imported but also Atlantic Salmon. After having freshly caught Pacific Salmon, I have given up ordering Salmon in restaurants. Atlantic Salmon is naturally white meat and is fed special food to artificially make it the pink color people expect.
  9. June 11, 2015 so under 2 years. In my book that is still recently.
  10. If you read the article, "But the ban appears to apply to 13 countries for the next 96 hours, according to Fox News, and could be in response to a new intelligence threat" it also says details will be posted Tuesday. As for detecting dynamite,A New York Post article says this (http://nypost.com/2015/06/11/10-things-the-tsa-isnt-telling-you/) "Recently, when the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which oversees the TSA, sent undercover agents into some of the nations busiest airports armed with banned weapons and faux explosives, it found that TSA agents let those items through s
  11. I have a FitBit Charge that I have been using about 1 1/2 years... well actually 4 since the bands on this model started to come apart after 3-4 months. FitBit sent out a new replacement the first 3 times but after the 1 year warranty expired, they would not. The unit works fine though..just make sure to get a model that has a better band.

He has been on a sucessful team. I would be more impressed with his acomploshmnets if the Patriots did not have a recird of cheating though
  14. Residence garden has 7 rooms per floor so noise is not an issue ( usually). Rooms 4 and 5 are across from the elevator and I try to avoid them. Rooms 1 and 7 are end rooms with windows in different palces and I find those much more noisy due to traffic. Room 1 is especially bad because the concrete building next door reflects the street noise. However, the noise is nothing compared to what you would get in bar areas or large hotels with lots of roms on a floor.
  15. When a company messes up software so badly they go from version 8 to version 10, it is very easy to see how they screwed up parts.
  16. Seems weird that you would even watch videos of someone doing that...missing Thailand?
  17. They do have a decent happy hour (2pm-6PM or something) . Plate of wings and a beer for a reasonable price
  18. They also have great prices SEA-BKK, the reasin I never consider them is the long layover (recall it being 14 hours) on the teturn flight. I will gladly pay $200 more for a decent flight. Has anyone actually flown them? Last trip back Delta cancelled BKK as a destination and switched me to ANA. The seat pitch was so bad that my knees were in the back of the seat in front.
  19. Why post something that happened 5 months ago?
  20. I get 100's , new bills (after 2013) no tears, no writting....
  21. After the play, Reporters asked Mrs. Lincoln " Besudes that nasty business duing the third act, did you enjoy the play" ?
  22. As stated in the above Post, they are the most prolific exchange booths ( at least it seems to me) and usual offers the best rates that I see. The want ID and accept US drivers license although I do recal one a year ago that did not insist because I did not have any. Yellow in color with black lettering. Hard to go far before seeing one. The picture in Post 58 looks like one. They seem to be picky on any damage or writing on the bills so make sure crisp clean 100's. There is one caveat to the "yellow building" on beach road heading south near walking street, there is another yellow building t
  23. I have been going to Boat since 1999. Food is cheap and good. I have never had a bad meal there nor have any of the people with me. I have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinners and it has been an even mix of Thai and Falang. Never been near closing time.
  24. A jump from 34.85 on Saturday to 35.7 today. Nice climb in a few days just in time for my trip Monday. I just hope I will be able to spend it.
