  1. That was with Kasikorn ... but the rate is set by VISA in UK. It seemed too good to be true ... and it was! It takes a few days to get posted to account, and I had assumed that my available balance would have also had the charges deducted .... but now it has been posted .... I can see that it hadn't. So the actual rate I got was 45.51 .... which calculates to 44.52 after charges .... which is around what I thought it was going to be! Still better than the 43.70 that I got when I changed the last of my cash about 12 days ago. I thought at the time that there was no way it w
  2. No .... did it at the counter in bank. Spud
  3. Used my Nationwide FlexAccount debit card to get cash yesterday and got a rate of 46.45. After the 2% and £1 charge ... worked out at 45.43. Spud
  4. Hi Flew up here a few days ago on Orient Thai from Swampy, coming from Patts. Flying back in a couple of weeks on Nok Air to Don Muang, as preferred the flight times and plan to go on to Hua Hin, and only slightly more expensive this time. I usually find Orient Air cheaper, but all have promotions now and then. Given the choice I would fly Nok Air, as have newer aircraft ... I think. Stopped flying Air Asia a year or two back when they started all the addons .... before that they normally came up cheaper. Spud
  5. True ... I only intended to stay for 10 nights, then head up north ... but the floods put a spanner in the works .... so for the first time in 22 years I spent my whole trip in Pattaya. As I was there, and it was nice, I couldn't be assed to move .... but would have choosen a cheaper hotel if I knew that I would be staying a month. But had a fookin' great time .... just shity to have been back home a week ... although hopefully will be buying a ticket for my next trip this week Spud
  6. Just stayed here for a month. Nice hotel, friendly staff, spacious room, quiet. As said .. roof top pool nice, but small ... and was empty most times I used as well (though be careful of the shiny floor tiles in the poolside loo .... I went ass over tit on them ) Paid B350 for the member card, which lasts 2 years, and covers Sandy Spring as well, which gives you B300 off per night ... so B1390 a night. Spud
  7. After JPS dried up a few trips back I smoke L & M Red now when in LoS ... would smoke marlboro, but about B20 more a pack, and not worth the extra in my opinion, especially the rate I get through them! Not as good as the Drum tobacco I normally smoke, but can't be assed to roll much at these prices! Spud
  8. Hi I used http://www.kayak.co.uk/ when looking for my last flight. You can set up a search with a daily e-mail .... which was handy. Spud
  9. Thanks for clearing that up teelack ... I just read somewhere that they were supposedly being demolished, unless I read it wrong. Glad they are not .. back in 4 weeks, and staying that end of town. Spud
  10. Hi So all the bars have now gone between soi 2 and soi 3? Spud
  11. There was 6.73 GB DVD ISO posted 60 days ago in a.b.dvdr on UseNet Search for P_THE_POSSESSED_2005_THAI on http://binsearch.info to download an nzb Spud
  12. EVA are fine ... normally fly with them these days. The Bank holidays are great this year .. saving me 4 days annual leave Spud
  13. Hi Just booked for a 4 week trip, departing UK end of April, for £522 all in, with Netflights. Went through Quidco, so will get £5 cashback too ... every little helps! A month ago Eva were doing my dates for £540, but it took my boss 2 weeks to approve my leave and the price went up by £150! Been checking everyday since waiting for the price to drop again. Almost booked the BA deal tonight for £580 ... but did the rounds and came across this deal .... booked straight away! SWEET! Spud
  14. Cheers Lumbai5 I'm just about to book my flight for May and was wondering if it was worth paying and extra 20-30 quid for a Q class ticket with full milage. The extra cost for miles would be worth it if flying Thai internally, but with Air Asia being soo much cheaper, and if you have to pay the taxes on top of using miles, it would work out more or less the same. Although the Thai domestic flights are more comfortable and you do get a free sarnie! Spud
  15. Hi Does anyone know if when using Thai FF miles for, say, an internal flight, if there is anything to pay? Do the FF miles cover everything, or do you have to pay the taxes, etc? Can't find it stated on their website. Spud
  16. Hi I was staying at the Grande the week before last, so popped round and had a look at each of the 3 room types. Even the deluxe appeared to be quite a bit smaller than a room at the Grande, and in my opinion, the decor wasn't as nice. Did have a nice flat screen TV though, and they say they have 80 odd channels. Despite their website saying "Comfortable leather couch ... in every room", all the rooms I looked at only had a single seater leather comfy chair, and not a two seater couch like rooms at the Grande. I'll still be staying at the Grande on future trips. Spud
  17. E-mailed as well and was told: Standard Summer room ( not seaview ) 1,200 baht/room/night Standard Spring room ( facing seaview low floor 2 -4 ) 1,290 baht/room/night Deluxe Spring room ( seaview room floor 4 -7 ) 1,590 baht/room/night Suite Seaview room ( one living + one bed room floor 6 -7 ) 2,990 baht/room/night It's good that they have used some of the space for a sofa, I wonder if there is one in all the rooms? 18. Booked an Eva flight this morning with Opodo, £499.20, out 9th Oct back 8th Nov, so still some under £500 flights out there. Don't forget to book via Quidco for 1% cashback back ... every little helps! Spud
  19. It's not really hassle! One e-mail to Mr Toom and he replies with confirmation. Job done! In the past I used to use the Thai mini buses, but got fed up with having to wait around for the set departure times. Moved onto the unlicenced taxi's, which you could negotiate a good price for. Then they had a clamp down on those and for a while were harder to find, so I used Thai limosine, which was cheaper back then. These days I just can't be arsed! I'm on holiday so what the fuck.....I'll treat myself to a B1200 ride to Patts. That's under 20 quid. Here I can't even get a car to take
  20. Me too. Good location, nice rooms, great bathrooms and a good breakfast included. You can usually get good rates on-line. Spud
  21. Just booked Eva for a 3 week trip, May 3 to May 25, for £454.49 with eBookers. Went through quidco and paid with Egg Money card, so should get about £9 cash back. I've been holding out for a Thai deal, but was well disapointed in the week when a £559 special came available! WTF! Spud
