  1. I thought you yourself, given your board name might have preferred, the mature lady's more cavernous aperture ...... But even though historically my taste in women has been a 'broad church' I was aghast on seeing this lady.....Until I learned that they are not in fact tattoos and I'm sure once these puppies are washed off of her udders she would be perfectly acceptable...........Unless she has a cigarette habit ...I do have my standards you see!
  2. I heard that as from last Monday, these mini van shuttles stopped the drop off at Victory monument. 2000 vans a day causing all that congestion I can see why. However, that they will now travel instead to Mo Chit...(but not the BTS) is going to inconvenience a lot of people who rely on the service.
  3. Yes I'm tempted to use my Blackbelt in ballet!!
  4. Definitely post this on trip advisor. With two kids in the rain at night that is appalling. I will make a point of telling everyone I know and asking they pass it on to their aquaintences .its nothing to do with me but I'm fuming.
  5. I set my morning around viewing........turned it off after 30 mins.
  6. Sometimes you come across something that surprises........ And you want to share.. Perhaps as someone said.....music has no barriers...... Pink Floyd in woollen underwear! Two hasidic jews singing about diamonds.......Shouldn't be surprised I suppose....... Somehow this moved me more than the original.
  7. Depending on my route It's often on my way back from the darkside. First time I went I was alone it was mid week midday...... I 'calibrated' the quality of food by ordering something I know very well, a green curry......Along comes a side dish of various breads ..... ......Then the 'gang-keow-wan-kai' It was delicious......I mean really good. The boss came over and he was very considerate and informative. I asked about breakfasts.......He told me he couldn't produce a good one without prohibitive cost...Going into the constituents of a good sausage etc.......Knew his stuff. He talked about his Sunday fare..'Only the best products .......these cooked traditionally.......Individual portions no scrapping out from big tins' He had me sold. I have stunning, hi-so woman I see in her 50s, I met exercising.........She oozes quality and gets VIP attention wherever we go. When she pops out her 'pince-nez' from of her handbag ....peruses the menu and interrogates and confuses the waiter I always feel sorry for the guy....Girls she's less brusque with. We were both looking for somewhere new and with quality....I told her about this place and she picked me up. She doesn't drink much...and so we share the driving responsibilities ........In many ways she's the perfect woman. I called to book (something I only do that with her in tow)....... Despite booking no one seemed to know we were coming and the place was almost empty and at night time disappointingly un-atmospheric but the Boss came over and was great They found us a nice table...... the menus arrive and it's time for the cross-examination. I'm hoping the food lives up to his billing......The place is filling nicely. Thai groups..falang groups.....and the usual mixture of both. We had a good time we always do......Despite that frosty demeanour she's easy company. The Boss sent over some very sweet champagne which we both appreciated as a kind gesture but neither of us could finish.......(If they'd been a pot plant available!!) She paid.......We left....... Can't remember what we ate...... wasn't great though. This was about 6 months ago.......I've been thinking of returning for another go but with a 'low-so'. The guy is doing well. A good reputation in a bad location........There must be a reason. Give it a try.
  8. They say the best way to tell who wins is to watch with the sound off.......!!!
  9. I remember it being pretty hard to find even in London. We had pease-pudding, faggots and great saveloys from a shop in Church Street market....The best fish and chips in London in Lisson Grove....Pints of shrimps outside the pubs on Sundays and eels, cockles, whelks and winkles all week long in the market at the top of Bell Street.....But I didn't taste P&M until in the 60s, I was brought on a sort of Cockney Hadj from Marylebone to a 'pie and eel' somewhere in Hammersmith for my one and only taste.....Didn't live up to expectations.....But those that love it... luv it! Funnily enough, I was eating at 'Little India' in the arcade.... and noticed the restaurant next door....(as others have said), advertised Pie and Mash.....I hadn't thought about the stuff in years but it got me whistling......... ......'Umdidlydidilydidilyumdidilyeye' On the subject of olde London fare ......... My uncle loved those big 'orrible green chewy whelks.....I remember on a day trip to Margate....him buying some and while walking past a couple sitting at a posh restaurant window (I think it was a Wimpy).......He stopped next to them and loudly sneezed into a hanky....spat the well chewed whelk into it.... looking shocked himself at the result..........and then in 'orrah.. showed the couple the hanky's contents.
  10. First I'm supposed to have said I downloaded a version when I didn't and haven't.......Then called a Wuss... when I'm not......and declared a regular at the wonderful Cherry bar.....When I've only been there 3 times in it's existence. I'm not allowed out at night! Maybe I'm being confused with Atlas or atlas3?...Easily done! Now MM, 'Our Mutual Friend', will have read, or seen 'The Prince and the Pauper'....'The Third man'.....Hopefully read 'The Mating Season' by PGW.....Certainly 'Royal Flash' and they all have in common a theme of? (Yes you all got it), 'mistaken identity'....I'm not trying to 'Stoop to Conquer' here........But it's all just been a 'Comedy of Errors' I'm gonna have to read this bloody book now.... ain't I ? But first I'm sneaking downstairs to 'Switch-Bitch'......Now which finger am I supposed to put the band-aid on?
  11. Yes, and in Spanish is that 'San Miguel Special'.....or 'Special San Miguel'? I'm sure Jacko will have it in large print.
  12. โ€œThere is something spiteful and yet open-hearted about youโ€ โ€• Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
  13. Not me.....
  14. Which one?
  15. Not arguing but this is cut from the first page of your quoted search ie..............https://www.google.com/search?q=the+karamazov+brothers&oq=the+karamazov+&aqs=chrome.0.0j69i57j0l4.9604j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 And look what I got! 4.3/5 ยท Goodreads The Brothers Karamazov, also translated as The Karamazov Brothers, is the final novel by the Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Wikipedia Originally published: November 1880 Having said that you'll note I entered this thread by changing and the word order of the title to agree with you...... 16. Can be both. But somehow.......'The Karamazov Brothers' has more of a er........er..Bonanza feel
  17. This one from Dostoevsky about The Brothers kalashnikov.....sound up your firing range Gary.......... ...........Sorry SS.....but you might be, as the Thais say, (see sor hai kwai fang) 'playing violin for the buffalos' But I'm not alone in my admiration of you.
  18. You might be right....... How strange! Never happens with any other thread...
  19. "I can't really started on enjoying audio books. I did manage one or two while driving but in general much prefer reading." 'EDIT' (Ewe dun it agin......)
  20. 10Q Perhaps I should CUWTA..........But I DGARA....... ' This list claims it has them all......except for 'BBBJ' .......and that's the only one I need to know. http://www.netlingo.com/acronyms.php
  21. You're a little tinker Odense... You've confused me again.......A pun? Sarcasm? Typo?.........No doubt Jacko will put me right.
  22. I'll be changing my board name to SoDense in due course.
  23. Call me sOdense but what in this context is a CC.......?
  24. Not sure what's the most amazing........? ........Either that 'Brad Thor' is not a 'nom de plume'......... or that his parents were so lacking in imagination they couldn't be arsed to come up with anything and merely added 'jr' to his dad's name.......No doubt taking inspiration from the parents of Efram Zimbalist Jr. 'Job done darling' 'You're so clever Papa' I think you'll agree that calling myself atlas2 I know what I'm talking about.. I sore Thor interviewed on TV once and I thought the book he was touting sounded great.... ....I like 'Leather'.....apart from his first I've never really tried McNab........I'll give Bradley George Thor Jr's 'Last Patriot' a go..... sounds up my street. It's quite old now but 'Terence Strong's'.....(That MUST be a sobriquet) 'Whisper Who Dares' and the SAS books that followed I found to be very enjoyable.
  25. Congratulations to Siam Sam We have to give these things a go......But I felt the same way as Gary.....and had the same futile experience....An Important work it undoubtably is, and probably classic 17th Century entertainment.......But it wasn't for me. Still it's supposed to have influenced everything that followed...And it certainly influenced that Cyrano thing which I did enjoy....Even the Steve Martin film version. Now, 'The Emperor's new clothes' is the classic I appreciate the most.........It taught me a lot about what's a 'classic'....and wot aint!
