On 5 occasions now, (with two girls) I have had the great satisfaction of driving to the airport……Giving the, 'Casablanca kiss' and watching my teelack's slow, tearful accent up the escalator for her bag check, passport control……. and return to hubby in Europe. I know! I'm a cad! It's in moments like these I wish I had a mustache to twiddle.

I was wondering the other day what things Americans miss living here! Apart from ginger preserve and ginger wine for my Christmas mulled wine I can get just about everything here ...... even curry. So what do all you Americans pine for and can't get here for love or money?

I rarely need a taxi but I reckon 90% of bms will want a reliable pick-up or drop off at Swampy from time-to-time. She's going to see a lot of Route 7. I'm no haruspex but it could be the start of her own Taxi fleet…….. Great to see.

It can be a nice distinction …...that fine line between, 'making merry' and 'malice,' but when you see 'making merry' being used to disguise 'malice'……. instinctively, (like MM here) you know it………and are repulsed and disgusted by the cowardly advantage being taken.

Don't Americans pull anything over the Christmas turkey other than the wish-bone? These crackers go crack when pulled. Whoever still has hold of the middle bit can search through its contents and find a cheap plastic gift…….Or if it's from Harrods….and expensive rolex. Also inside will be a dumb stinker of a joke. But thank you for explaining why Blacks call whites Crackers……..In England it would just mean bonkers. We also call a good looking woman a 'cracker'………Especially if we've managed to pull her.

I don't know how you can be so cold and heartless at a time like this Teelack! Christmas is the time to consider those less fortunate……….Good-will to all men ………..But what about God's creatures and particularly 'man's best friend'? My brother called from England yesterday and told me The RSPCA have gone broke and they've had to call in an official retriever!
