  1. "Moderator, moderate thyself !"
  2. Absolutely essential. Great advice Gary……….Though I'd add one more person not to trust………Though you sort of covered that too..
  3. This is where threads meet. I'd been to Telephone bar found nothing to my liking….. and I ain't fussy. But had to U turn on Suk to get onto the rail road to head over to Paradise, Black sheep etc. lots of new one ways. Couldn't get a left in. Had to go back on myself a long way..... Then no problem other than when I got to the DS bars the girls now want to go to a hotel which is 400 baht on top of the bar fine.
  4. Excellent heads up Idefix the Gaul. Thanks!
  5. I've come late to Ed Sheeran……... Saw him at the Grammys and with Beyonce at the Stevie Wonder tribute and thought he's the real deal…….. There's a danger that he might even make ginger coooool. Backed by John Mayer on guitar and Herbbie Hancock trying to be originally discordant on 'lead piano'….. http://youtu.be/t5xJvr5JFMY And here he is……..eventually………with the wonderful Beyonce and later Gary Clark……. I love the way, (I think it's Jaimie Fox) at 3.45….seems to say to himself after initially reserving judgement ….."This honky ain't complete shit!!" http://youtu.be/WaoF9SbCzs0
  6. And my one's back......
  7. Someone neg'd the above post ……..You have a phantom 'neggar' following you Teelack.
  8. I like Dudley ………Can talk with him for hours. His recounting is filled with terrific insights into the past, present and future of Pattaya. I last stayed at the Penthouse in April 2014 and my mate, (a first-timer over from England after his wife of 35+ years died), well he was knocked out by it and found 'The Classroom' opposite a convenient place to both watch his beloved Chelsea and stock his Jacuzzi. As a visitor to Thailand I always spent some time staying there and the Penthouse has many special memories for me………In those days I kept a photo record of the hello girls from Rodeo….Bubbles…….Lipstick and WS dancers passing through the revolving door of my room………Sometime later I destroyed those photographs………It felt like a sordid 'butterfly collection' I wish I hadn't done that now, it would be nice to still be able to reminisce about those girls that I've long since forgotten. Of course there are moments enjoyed in The Penthouse when I've felt I wouldn't want to be anywhere else on Earth... and I don't need photos to recall them…. they are scorched onto my retina. I can still see The Malibu's number one lady dancer, dressed in a bikini she'd creatively fashioned with the Jacuzzi bubbles that clung to her perfect body…... covered but unfettered …… She danced for me alone on the pole set amidst the mirrors at the water's edge……While I lounged back with a cool drink watching the disco lights change the colour of her bikini and skin-tone….. Her expert undulations, the music, the warm ripples on my skin, the coolness of the beer and the raging boner made for the most perfect of moments. I remember thinking, "atlas my son, this is too good to be true!" ………That's when I spotted crimson speckle the bubbles between her legs……."Ah well not perfect then…….. we'll just have to make do" The Penthouse is a treasure……….Long may it last………Well longer than I did that night!
  9. Cold? Cold? "During the war when I was running convoys in the North Atlantic it was so cold it froze the flame on my lighter"
  10. I'm aware that this thread isn't paid much attention too and ignored by most visitors. Can't blame anyone interested in the Pattaya scene for that….. However what I'm posting here is a gift to you all. I listened to this live on BBC radio. I taped it and played it a lot over the years in my car. When I came to Thailand I had it transferred to CD. It's wonderful but has never been released. Kamen was planning on doing so but those plans were shattered when Eric Clapton's son Conner fell from that window in New York…….And Eric regrouped alone with his nylon strung guitar……. Not long after Kamen died so that was that. This live recording from it's debut at the Albert Hall is all we have of their collaboration. It's a tour through American music. Even though Eric extemporises in parts….There are other parts he had to learn precisely. He can't read music so it's quite a feat. I found it beautiful. I can only post the site I got this from and you can read more and listen to the sound cloud. It's a good chunk of music but worth the effort. Hope some of you have a listen. https://soundcloud.com/aminofski
  11. I got stuck a few times now I don't venture over there if it looks like rain. I hate being stuck in traffic I could have avoided. Another thought……. This could wreak havoc with the timetabling of the Airport bus from Jomtien.
  12. Parts of the 'Railway Road' regularly flood and are closed in the rainy season……..If I was still stuck into a forced schedule like Fondles I'd be dreading those threatening skies. I want to go to Index today…..Better fill-up before I set off.
  13. It's one of my favourite places to just watch Thais being Thais. Shopping….mooching….unaware…..relaxed. I've no reason other than people watching to go there these days, so I don't make it as often……….As it happens, after a gap of many months I went along last week. I sat in the Dolphin Restaurant and was pleased to see, 'Tennis ball lady' was still going strong. She's an old girl now and wisely doesn't attempt any new tricks. Years of holding the ball in her outstretched hand……letting it go…….and catching it before it falls still excites her……and she forever expects it to dazzle her audience trapped at the tables. Visitors to the market come and go…..they change weekly but she's a constant and whoever she performs for they seem to understand and play along. Most smile indulgently….some laugh with her……Some pass over a few coins. She walks off proud and happy…. still catching that bloody ball. I wondered where she lived?…..how she managed?….What she did between market days? And realised that if I ever came here and she wasn't around…….carted off to 'Arkham' perhaps, or 'Time' was called from the Umpire's chair…….. Then the market would have lost something.
  14. Well done Wobbly one! I gave you and syd a green. Saved a lot of us any bother.
  15. Who called the play Coach or QB?
  16. Great game…... NE deserved to win but a 'play' I can't fathom and a tiny nudge sealed it. We all liked the fight really.
  17. My one gripe, as always is that watching American Football is like watching a movie with constant buffering.
  18. I don't recognise a single song………….Or Katy Perry? Oh here comes an ostinato that sounds familiar……….. Good effects though, and the Superbowl itself is a wonderful spectacle.
  19. The Great Lao-Tzu said: "It is only when you see a mosquito landing on your testicles that you realise there is always a way to solve problems without resorting to violence."
  20. I registered one last time…..(for what?)….I think my other phone is also registered but I guess I will have to check 'to be sure to be sure' Dumped True Vision earlier this month…….I'd suggest you get an android TV Jacko but I've heard they don't work as well with true internet. Bit of a fag for you to start all over again.
  21. I looked through 7 pages of this on TV...I couldn't find clarification because as MM says the edict itself is contradictory. Things will all be back to normal before clarification anyway.
  22. Just heard from a usually reliable source that The Ocean Pacific construction in Jomtien, a part of the Nova group has been cancelled. Not suspended. ……Ended. Investors who have already paid up-front or made deposits will be offered other condos in finished buildings or I suppose their money back. Nova is a reputable company with the resources to do this…….I wonder how many other projects are in trouble but scared to come out and say so. Still taking the money and hoping for better times or ready to do a legal runner….. This could be the tipping point and we'll see a real softening in the over-priced,( when compared to BKK) Pattaya condo market.
  23. They're just finishing work on the sales office for The Rivera....flowers down the central reservation on soi 2 jomtien even mature trees planted......... Smacks of desperation to me.
  24. I think it's the last quarter's figures that are the most relevant to the direction the Russian sector of the tousism economy is heading. Confirms local impression.....though there are still masses of them. How this impacts on the condo situation is the next question soon to be answered I think.
  25. Read this link if it works………. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/64051-nams-taxi-lady-driver/ Just a few pages ago.
