As your ' put down 'puts over so well winning over one biased Englishman holds little importance to a Scot of Murray's stature. Hopefully the new page one editorial respect he's been given this morning will have a chuffing effect.
-
Before that final Id admit to being a bit anti-Murray. The final however was the acid test. I like Federer and would support him against anyone..... except it turned out....Murray. I wanted Murray to win very badly by the end. Couldn't help myself. I know a lot of what Sam says is true of the Scots and how they feel about England and it's obviously the same with the English. Pity. Anyhow Murray has gained an English supporter.
-
Wasn't 'he' from Rhodesia? Could be a historic family achievement. Jonathan Murray just won the men's doubles!! And if the Scottish Herald can claim that, 'Scotland found the God particle' even though Higgs is an Englishman and Stella can turn the union flag to a salter blue and white, I shan't correct anyone who thinks Scotland and England are the same country. One thing's for sure, Murray will 'sporan' a much bigger pay-check than Fred Perry who got five pounds!

As an aside.......Well done Andy. His, 'anyone but England'.... 'aside'..... is forgotten (almost)! It was a great semi and I hope both players do themselves justice and play to the best of their ability........ As much as I like Federer, I'm hoping the saturnine, surly, canny Scot pulls off a historic victory. Ay'ell be watchin we'r ma wee bern!

That's Joekicker!

Well I was talking about the Italy game and Carroll's contribution during it, when compared to Welbeck's. However if you want to add transfer fees and Crouch to the debate you won't get an argument from me......Not even to be bloody-minded. Carroll, 35x better than Trevor Francis, the first 1 million pound Englishman??.... And 350x better than Jimmy Greaves? Ridiculous! Inflated prices for inflated egos out all proportion to any difference in skill levels.....It's the world we live in unfortunately........And kit-kats were better when they were 6d too! Peter Crouch...'Goal of the seaso

Welbeck contributed a defensive header out of the danger area from a cross and allowed a ball to go for a Joe hart goal-kick. I may have missed something but Ican't recall much else from him. Carroll repeatedly won possession from the aimless GK clearances and was holding the ball up for the odd micro-second before Italian order was restored. I was reduced to seeing this as a triumph.......Through my, 'relative triumph specs'......(You have to be English)!!!

England lose and the curse of 'Cheshire Tom' continues a hat trick! Congratulations. Only that octopus has had more success. Though the octopus (Paul?) backed winners, Tom works the reverse. Backs 'em to win in the hope ( in England's case at least) that they lose. Come on CT who's next for the chop? Italy deserved to win. Even if their coach looked like a head-waiter shouting "I sayd taggiatelli for taable 3" Italy play the Italian way so much better than we can. I'd rather we went out honestly than trying to ape them, they do the negative in a positive way. Thought Carroll play

I was waiting for my son arriving qantas 2....Kept getting different "confirmed' landing times ....Saw the diversions appearing on the arrivals board and was getting all jittery when nothing seemed to be landing. He is an un accompanied minor and a diversion in those circumstances is less trivial. He landed an hour late and the reason circulating was runway repairs!! Just happy to see him. Mind you this trip and his last one, just before Christmas Qantas managed to lose his luggage!

Watching the game on 'Snow-vision' with an old fashioned ariel....(Long story won't bore you).......It was disappointing and frustrating to see how many touches Joe Hart was getting from back passes. Now I played village football and understand the need sometimes to avoid giving the ball away yourself....better to give it to the keeper so that he can hoik it upfield straight to the opposition......No one expects otherwise of a GK put in that position and no one loses face. But this wasn't happening on the dog-shit encrusted playing fields of olde England. Glad Ashley Cole was booked for th

Yes she's an improvement on 'Stan the pan' our village team's sponge and bucket man........ Cahill's not even in the squad eh? Well there you go. Jamie was completely right then....I must pop up and give him a big green one.

Apparently after Drogba's departure from Chelsea there have been a number of redundancies made........2 physios, four stretcher bearers, 2 stunt coordinators and a drama coach!! I was vacuuming once and just knocked the telly and Drogba fell over!! I hate this crap and commentators that sigh and just call it "part and parcel of the game." Jamie above has the right idea for team selection for England's next game. If Cahill is fit I'd put him in for Lescott. Greece kicking Russia out is an excellent example of the importance that should be attached to Ukraine's threat.

My firery, 4 yr, on/off gik......(Let's make babies Saturday........Damning my eyes and smashing her phones against my condo floor and wall on Sunday....... 'What Ap'ing me love songs with her new phone on Monday)........ has her own condo with 2 non-Truevisions tvs, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom! Fortunately for me, we were still very much 'on' on the day of the England game. Instead of making the trip to Shananigans, I found myself in her bedroom, comfortably propped up with fluffy pillows....waited on with a bottle of wine and a large packet of crisps! Having just sampled

Thanks....... the Bangkok Post said they expected to sort out a deal with Grammy giving them the EPL rights in exchange. However I haven't heard if that's been worked through in time for tonight. I shall hang around my telly and if the dispute has not been sorted I'll nip down to Shenanigans. Thanks PS.....Just heard that the free upgrades are for 24 hrs......... PPS ...Just seen that the upgrade is from 10th June 'til the end of the competition. .....also that the NBTC have 'held firm' and are imposing a daily fine of 20,00 bt on True until the shenanigans are resolved. Anyone know if the TV problem has been resolved?

The Official X Zone Photo Thread
atlas2 replied to misteregg's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
This could be my answer to my football viewing dilemma. There used to be a little room with a one way window so that while you were being pleasured you could watch the girls go-go girls outside undulating in a most enticing manner. Now if it's still there and the TV is in sight............!!! -
Just reading....... "KIPPERS" .......is repeating on me!

A pretty girl I'm told was wandering the market bars off second rd Jomtien selling 'viewing licenses' to the bars for Euro 12. None of them have cable. Just a scam that the owner of the bar I heard about was on to.......She got short-shrift and moved to the next bar. I'm hoping Shananagans will be showing the games. Does anyone know a bar in Jomtien that will carry the matches?
-
Yes....Sod it! I don't have any other supplier. I'll find a bar!
-
You know in my lifetime this is the first time I can recall an England team going into a competition with nothing to lose. Not long to see if that assessment and the lack of expectations helps them to play freely as a team.........Or just proves to be a correct assumption. I'll be watching and kicking every ball as usual.
-
Jackie Charlton somehow managed a team of run-of-the-mill players. Probably none of his 'Irish'...(some picked because their grandmothers once owned an irish setter), team would have been an automatic choice for the England side of the day........But he got these gutsy professionals to bloody compete against the superstars. They were a handful for anyone That POSSIBILITY is all I have regarding this England team's chances against the likes of Spain..........Come on Hodgson.............Oh dear!
-
The good thing about this thread is that at the 'end of the day' we will know who's been right and who was wrong in their predictions. Let's hope football is the winner throughout the competition..........If England are, as predicted by several here, knocked out in the group stage I shall root for skill and sportsmanship to come through. I hate cheats in sport and women who grunt on the tennis court......
-
Well can't argue.....But we did win 4.2!! Having watched last night against Belgium we have a chance but only a slim one.
-
We've lost Lampard and there are fears for Scott Parker. Expectations are low......That's our only hope, we all know sport can confound!! We don't deserve it but nor did Chelsea. I shall enjoy England's run for as long as it lasts.....Then support Ireland and then Holland.........And then given a 50/50 chance..... there's a 90% chance I'll support the losers in the final.

How do you wake up Lady Ga Ga...............Poker face!!
