  1. Excellent.
  2. Price hike at Bliss..........? You'd expect them to 'go down'......I shall give them a mouthful next time I'm there.
  3. Yes I like to see skill over-come any physical disadvantage. What is he 6.2 6.4 ? That's relatively small I would think in top level BB where almost freakish height is the norm. A few more 'Jeremys' and I might start following the sport. Good luck to him. Interesting too to see the excitement in China at Lin's success. He's parents were from Taiwan......He grew up in America and is a devout Christian........But he's ethnic Chinese and they are going potty.
  4. I think most of us have, 'chased ghosts' at some time or other. I'm now of the opinion that if you are meant to meet again, you will.
  5. Good one.

I'm a little surprised that the FA can actually say they want an English......or British manager.

So it could be Redknapp..........He would be a good choice. Ironically, on current FA standards, Harry should have been removed from his club managers role at Tottenham while his case for tax evasion was outstanding. 'Guilty until proved innocent'
  8. Thanks I've had my blue book 4 yrs last Oct.....No one has ever asked for it...I'll make a copy and stick it in the glove box.

So the England managers job is up again and we've no captain. Great! I agree with 'Postman Pat' .....sacking Terry without it seems even consulting or informing the manager isn't right. In their understandable rush towards the safety of PC thought the FA has ignored Terry's human rights of being innocent until proven guilty. They also ignored their manager. Far dues to Capello and Terry must have a case with ECHR. My advice to Terry is to grow a long beard and convert to Islam then you can do and say whatever you like in the UK. As for the current situation....A new manager and a new captain.... depending who they are, might actually help England.
  10. Agree.......Wine, Port, Champagne! All the basics.
  11. Fairtex. 34 lengths about 1km.
  12. I once shagged a girl in the PH pool. We situated ourselves in a corner so that we could view anyone coming down the spiral stairs. We discovered later that day, that what we thought was an underwater mirror was infact a viewing window from the ajacent pool room.......'If 'anyone was in there they would have had a great view of atlas' white arse pounding away.
  13. Anyone connected to the hotel would know that they did, perhaps still do have handcuffs for sale in the top rooms..........I would have thought that someone connected with the place would not state the opposite. And there's a difference between raising a flag and stating. 'it's obvious that 'FB' is an owner or affiliated with the hotel'. He can only deny it, which would mean nothing to those who have already judged him..... or prove his honest credentials by continuing to contribute to the board that's been so unwelcoming of his opinion. If it was me........To be judged that, as my first post on here was a positive one, against the general negative trend of the thread, that 'that' is reason enough to have my motives and my honesty questioned....Well I don't think I'd hang around. We'll see.
  14. Can we summise from your post gaijin that you own a competing hotel in the area close to Penthouse and resent PH its custom? And that you are trying to blacken it's name? Probably wrong and certainly unfair to do that! Equally it's unfair to brand a new member as a fake. I for one always had a really great time at the PH and agree pretty much agree entirely with Franniebax's report. ......It's 'allowed' to disagree and to 'agree' on here.
  15. I used to always spend a couple of nights at the Penthouse. It was convenient and fun. The girls loved it once they found out I wasn't a pervert. There was this beautiful lead dancer from Malibu bar (not a LB ...I've seen some that were beautiful but NEVER one that could dance).... I had a great room on the top floor.......We emptied a whole bottle of bath foam into the jacuzzi....Foam was flying like snow flakes. Then she fashions a bikini from the bubbles and proceeded to pole dance on a platform above the tub. She could dance that one!! The right girl and the right room in the Penthouse and you're a millionaire!! Long live the Penthouse for those that enjoy living! ............I agree not for everyone on the board.
  16. My son, 11 then, learnt to count from 0 to 1 million in Thai in 30 minutes. It took me a couple of days. Little sod!! Incidently.....when my mother died a couple of years ago, I followed behind the herse.....Its number plate was 555. It crossed my mind to mention it to the funeral directors as a little inappropriate but i didn't. I think my mum would have enjoyed the joke.
  17. Absolutely.........Love clichés........Lots of truth in 'em.....'Throwing Stones and half-full glasses......' Though you'll forgive me saying you don't come across as a half -full man....Anyway...technically and with just a soupcon of pedantry......the glass is always full....water and air! Pointless nit-pick of the day was brought to you by atlas2....not to be confused with any other atlas on the other boards.
  18. Tesco lotus......usually sell it with a little plastic bag of coconut milk inside.
  19. The Chnese of course have a history of distaste for anyone not Chinese. The History between China, Britain and other western powers has been the usual shameful stuff. On both sides........All sides. Money has always been important to men. Don't matter the breed, 'man' and 'woman' have been 'at it' and will go on being 'at it' until Yellowstone blows. Those pointing fingers at any country are wasting their time. I'm not sure that the Opium War meant as much to China's rulers as the burning of the 'Summer Palace'. Which was chiefly a British decision designed to punish the ruling elite. As always the French wrung their hands and disagreed....... but whlie 'Tommy' set about his work 'Jean Claude' carried home most of the treasures. That gigantic slap across the Chinese face and pulling of pig-tails was, as it was intended to be, personally felt. The Chinese have long memories....It seems from this discussion we all have. .............Long and selective memories! This is a pointless and futile discussion. Carry on!
  20. Sorry....I should have said.......Al Huraisi...........Not Al Hamizi.........I was translating from the original Arabic.........bit rusty!! Thankyou.
  21. Saudi Arabia......* 'Al Huaraisi' Arrested for drinking beer ......at home!! He was beaten.............His skull split open............eyeball dislodged from it's socket... Died in the custody of........Mutaween Religious Police. Absolutely nothing to do with Religion of course. A comforting thought for Ms Al-Huaraisi and her children. "It's not the religion Ms Huariasi. Oh absolutely not.....How could you even connect the two? Silly goose! ....OK, we are the Religious police Ms Huaraisi.........But think of us as the Islam's Health and Safety police. You know anything could happen if you have beer at home. Dangerous stuff beer.............people die you know. No. No need to thank us Ms Huaraisi all part of the service....as long as you understand.......You DO understand Ms Huaraisi.......... Just to be sure that you DO ....it's important for YOUR future health......Once again, absolutely nothing to do with Islam. Why there was a man in Kentucky...Absolutely exactly the same thing happened there. Can happen when beer is invoved, nasty stuff......So nothing to do with Islam. Good night........Allah be with you!!" *Edited name change.
  22. He applied for the job but didn't get it. Conflict of interests with his other full-time job I guess. Fair enough! Only paid 40,K a month for a 24 hr a day job...When the BKK equivalent grade gets 65 K ...Why he bothered applying beats me. But then to ask the poor bugger to stay on for nothing until April when the new.........(Lady I think and Thai/British) takes up her position and then train her on the job..... again for nowt is disgusting treatment. Good luck to 'HiM' Now we are faced with a consulate that opens for 3 hrs every Thursday morning. Could be chaos!
  23. Well OK....I haven't time to check this out with Wiki just now but you can........ From memory the Qua 'ranists are Muslims who 'only' take the Qua'ran for their guidance. 'The Qua'ran the whole Qua'ran and nothing but the Qua'ran.' The qua'ran isn't specific about dress.......Just says, 'dress like he did and his wives would've' . Some decency, hide the body shape....'Hijab' means curtain. men were supposed to talk with women separated by a curtain. The qua'ran, as you say is quiet on the subject of dress code....... And other areas, for instance 'it' says nothing about menstruating women not touching the Qua'ran so the Qua'ranists women are allowed too. Where the Qua'ran is silent.......Over 100s of years Muslim Scholars have filled in the blanks and come up with an authority for Muslim Jurisprudence. 'Fiqh' is one such element. It applies the laws on behaviour. And it rules!! The leader of the tolerant and comparatitively moderate Qua'ranists whose other main achievement was to translate the Qua'ran into English was as you would guess assassinated in Pakistan in 1991.
  24. As you know Joe 'Quaranists'.............."The Quar'an, the whole Quar'an and nothing but the Quar'an" are a rare breed. The rest draw upon religious if not sacred texts consisting of, 'what they say he said God said'...........But these texts have established historical authority. It's a very brave Muslim that would raise 2 fingers against them., or not give a "Fiqh" From the point of view of the forcefully 'en buq'ad'...............If it walks like a penguin and 'quacks' like a penguin.............It's a penguin. Their 'religion' says it must be worn....What can they do? I think a lot of BMs have sympathy. PS. For the benefit of Obssession, 'Yuck-o' is apparently a well known clown. When he called me that in a post he thought it was hilarious that I'd never come across this gentleman, (not being an American) and that consequently I was pathetically un-aware I was being insulted............
  25. Yes there are lots of, 'distinguishing uniforms'...........Worn by practically any religion....or cult you care to name........Not long after the beatle hair-cut.....flowers in the hair and a cow-bell round the neck were de-rigor too. Not compulsory, but there was pressure to conform....I've burned all the photos of course!.....Except for the one of me in a red military jacket....Funny how the sixties peace fashions collided without our noticing. But you're spot on with religious dress. When I was a kid growing up in London I remember thinking only posh people could go to church...... "Sunday best" was/is a sign of respect...I think. Pressure to conform but some leeway. It's still the case today in Christian church, Synagoge.....or Thai Temple. And the consequences of not being deemed to be dressed appropriately range from a severe 'tutting' to being barred entry. But I think even the Catholics have stopped using the whip.!
