I agree. I think the sign say "Turn Left Waiting Light" ... Meaning ?? There are many of them mainly along/around 3rd road and I see policemen waiting for offenders at 3rd Road/South road crossing nearly every morning ! BTW offender are mainly motorbikes and mainly Thai...

It's my experience too. Looks like guys stay in their family (Europe, USA, ..) for Christmas and then come Pattaya for a 2 weeks holiday. The second wave February seems to depends of the Chinese New Year date, I think. And yes this first week iof November is very busy, at least in agogos I visited. See my last night experience in Baccara where they were refusing groups upstairs !

Getting from LK Metro to the south
Idefix replied to nkped's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
But most of these bahtbus who turn to Jomtien arrive from East of Pattaya Tai (BigC, Sukhumvit, 3rd Rd) Very few arrive from Soi Buakhao or Soi LK area, these ones tend to turn right in 2nd Rd as said before by many. -
Looks like the quoted requirement come from this site : http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g293915-c133830/Thailand:Driving.License.Requirements.html The same page shows that too: So yes, better to get an IDP even with a license in English The quote above says 60 days max but the documentation I got with my IDP says "3 months max" for Thailand, as Gabord just post it.

Getting from LK Metro to the south
Idefix replied to nkped's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
A lot easier to quit Soi LK than to go there IMHO. What Papillon said here is still right: You could even take one going North, but just get confirmation he will not go to BigC. Nowadays most bahtbus go straight to the beach (and then Walking Street) after they turn on Central Road, and don't turn anymore in 2nd Road toward Soi 6 & BigC (but some still do, so ask!). To go Soi LK by baht bus is not so easy. Many guys prefer take a bahtbus on 2nd Road and stop and walk along Soi Diana. -
I don't know for this precise boat, but seems to me that - following an accident and many controls maybe 2 or 3 years ago - ferries to the island have a big number of life vests, buoys and safety floating-objects. They may have had enough of them for 150 passengers. But as you say, 150 vests would not have be enough if 200+ people where on board, despite an official 150 passengers limit... BTW it's usual in many countries to force the wear of a life-vest on small boats (like speed boats here) but not on big boats (like this ferry) where you usually have more time to prepare to quit

Why do you absolutely want a pdf ? Can't you see a basic png as the one above ??

Hi. I think they will have to re-think their ferry ticket system, because now you can go to the island at any hour but many tourists try to stay as long as possible and then to come back with 1 of the 2 last ferries who are nearly always overcrowded... Taking into account that the night felt not long after the accident, I would think they are very lucky to have only 6 dead people. Clear night, rather quiet weather & sea. Could have be worse very easily.

Is mourning for Supreme Patriarch affecting Pattaya?
Idefix replied to ktappinen's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
... and a good number of ladies still wearing their Halloween headband today at the Soi Buakao Friday market -
I get blanks pages too. Pages suppressed from their website Still references to them (Abd1 & Abd2) in http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/download.aspx?id=20131029092152 but can't find the info anymore ?? Maybe a good idea to try ThaiVisa. They have a big live thread about Hull.

Is Russia really worse than Bangkok ?

Are you talking by experience or just from rumours ? Many (Most?) investors focuse on Condos, and yes you can legally own a Condo in your name. Corruption relative to R.E. investment ? What ? Where ? Everything is done at the Land Office, and the one in Pattaya has very good reputation

Please explain. I don't see any reason to no invest here, but as everywhere you must be careful and not buy something too expensive or in a non attractive place. There is good investment who can be done in Pattaya. Look at VT6 by example. 48 sqm were to sell at barely 2 Mbaht in 2008 and are sold now at 3 or 3.5 Mbaht. Not bad for a 5-years investment

Big fire back of Walking street
Idefix replied to aussiechic's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Just to add that Second Road is still blocked there. You can't turn left when you arrive down from Pattaya Tai. On beach Road they block the street at the level of Soi 13/4 to send it back on 2nd Road. Not the good moment to take you car to come in this area -
Big fire back of Walking street

From my room today. The hardware shop who burnt is just behind the big VC Hotel for me. 14h10, dark smoke and I can hear the noise of the fire 14h35, many explosions (gaz? petrol?...) 2 of the many vehicles I saw from my room 15h. Not so dark, but free smoke for all neighbours After 1 hour the rain come to help firemen... still lighter but important smoke more than 2 hours later. PS: Many ambulances still going to this place. I suspect a lot of hurt or intoxicated people. -
Hi. I think you mix up several rules here. There is no such limitations. AFAIK the 50'000 baht is the limit amount you can bring out the country in THB currency. As a farang, I don't know why we would bring Thai Baht with us in our country The limit in cash you can bring usually is $10'000 or 10'000€, depending of your country, (can be less for some) and yet it is a limit of cash without declaration. You can bring more but must declare it to customs. I never read anywhere anything like your 50'000 baht/day limit ? I already asked Kasikorn to transfer about USD 50'000 to my cou

I will never understand this kind of jealous comment. Yes Russian have better conditions for Visa and Stays in Thailand, but Russia allows Thai people to go Russia for 30 days without any visa ! How easy is it for Thai to go to UK ? Ask your country to get a similar bilateral agreements on visa waiving and you will have 30 days too at borders. Too easy to always criticize Thailand when it's often your (country) fault...
-
Why do you mix/add "the Thai govt" to this discussion ? Nowhere to show that this decision comes from Thailand Seems rather to come from the Thai Embassy in London. (Anywhere else concerned outside UK?)
-
No, I am French. I do know it's obvious with my many language mistakes, but most of time people here manage to understand what I (try to ) write. Why ?
-
No. YOU mentioned the "option for the cash to be in a Thai account" in post #12. You cannot get a non-O anymore in Hull in this case but you still can get a non-O and Extension in Jomtien :)
