  1. Hi. The lake Hui Chak Nok today: compared to 3 weeks ago: The water level raised about 70 cm but still 2 meters below what it should be and about 3 meters below the "full" mark.
  2. I not really agree. October is the most rainy month at Pattaya. Yes we should have had more rain in September, and months before, but October this year is nothing exceptional, and still below what rainfall should have been.
  3. The Ruble lost 1/4 of its value % THB this years, and lost 1/3 of its value % THB in 5 years... It continues to fall very fast last 3 months... ... to the point we may soon see many Russian condo for re-sale ?...

  5. Problem with VT6 is their big terrace. OK it may be nice when you are here for short holidays, but to live in the inside space is only 38 sqm, and 33 sqm if you exclude the bathroom. The terrace then looks like a big lost space that you don't use much.
  6. Don't know for others, but for me a bigger room, more "space", is part of the comfort and one of many advantages of Pattaya is that "space" here is far cheaper than in our countries IMHO 40 sqm is enough only if you live always outside and use it just to look TV/computer and to go bed.
  7. Sorry Butch but I thing you are wrong here. Sure recent/modern hotels here have bigger room than in the past, but I am unsure that they all are as big as 32 sqm ?? At the opposite, if not as low as 15 sqm (didn't measure them) I am certain that there are in Pattaya hundreds or thousands of hotel rooms just about 20 sqm. Nobody force them to respect "a standard".
  8. Hi. I knew that there were a lot of nice really big condos in Pattaya but didn't know that the were so many for sell. Just a list of about 20 for example: http://pattayacondoguide.com/condo-search-size/condos-for-sale-size-between-400-600-sqm,400:600.html 11 Millions for 433 sqm. A bargain http://pattayacondoguide.com/details-for/stylish-condo-in-naklua-for-sale-in-Naklua-Pattaya,60691.html 143 Millions for 565 sqm "only"... WOW! http://pattayacondoguide.com/details-for/the-cove-for-sale-in-Wong-Amat-Pattaya,70584.html
  9. In Center Condo, on South Rd, near Wat Chaimongkron, 500m Walking Street A bit sorry for this "thread fucking" in the Accommodation forum... Could you please "cut" or "separate" the topic from my first message MM? (or a Moderator?)
  10. My point was that when you promote a "condo" you should compare to other "condos" to describe it as "large". And about my "z category condo" you probably have no idea what you are talking about: - a condo occupied at > 80% by farangs - a 30 yo condo, yes, but with extensive renovations going on - great high floor sea view of the whole Pattaya Bay - a 100+ sqm condo where one can live, not a shoebox - ideal location to make the most of Pattaya - ...
  11. Hi Gabor. I know it's a bit out of subject, but I just see that your "Large condo" is 42 sqm... only So just from a vocabulary point of view, how would you call : - a 60 sqm condo: - a 100 sqm condo: - a 150 sqm condo: - a 300 sqm condo: And how "big" is : - a small condo: - a very small condo: In Pattaya condo size varies from 22 sqm to 500+ sqm from what I know :)
  12. Hi. Yes Pizza Italy is a good place for Pizza. I use to go there about twice a month with a friend. This restaurant used to be on Soi Xcite (next to the St Georges Bar) at a far better location, but this area has been razed for a new condo project. I am a little sad for them to rarely see more than 2 or 3 other tables occupied when we go eat there. Lost off the main Soi. Only those who know it will find it In Soi Xcite it was sometime difficult to get a table. Thanks for this report Evil. It may help them :)
  13. Hi, About this type of "No Turn Left at Red Light" panels: I saw Police checking that people stop at red this morning, and again this afternoon, at 3rd Rd & Pattaya Tai, but not at their usual location: they were on 3rd Rd stopping people arriving from South Rd (like Tukcom) and turning left towards Central Rd. I only stayed there a few minutes, at red light waiting to go towards Sukhumvit, but saw them stop many vehicles in this short time. (bikes, motorbike taxis (yes), cars, and even a bahtbus (yes!)). Too far to see and count well, but at least 6 policemen.
  14. Hi. How can you reply without asking which laptop model it is? There are a few ones whose HDMI can be used in INPUT too, allowing the laptop to be used as a TV display or a monitor. Not so many, I agree, but at least Alienware and Sony have such laptops. :)
  15. It seems to me that you don't know... Why would you call "Visa" something whose stamp clearly says "Extension" ? (Look at your passport) Why would you need a Visa (i.e. an Entry authorisation) when you already are in the country ?
  16. Hi. Some short but very strong rain and wind last night. Some result in Wat Chaimongkron area The cars park The school Hard to reach now Shop in South Rd :(
  17. A little bit in 2nd Rd and South Road, but not even at the level of what we got 1 month ago. I bet it will at best add 1 cm of water to the very low Pattaya reservoirs
  18. Hi guys. Be careful if you intend to get a Retirement Extension in Jomtien soon. It was a rumour for 2-3 days but ThaiVisa seems to confirm it: Pattaya immigration no longer does conversion to non-O visa That means that if you just have a Tourist-Visa or used Visa Exemption, you can't get a Retirement Extension in Jomtien anymore. You will need to go Bangkok to convert your visa to a non-O first. With more controls? Could be a kind of sanction towards Jomtien in relation to the many visa agencies who offer "very easy retirement 'visa'"...
  19. Lol. Did not want compete with you Patna Your photos were for 90% in my decision to go visit this place
  20. Pattayas overhaul of motorbike-taxi sector stuck in neutral http://www.pattayamail.com/localnews/pattaya-s-overhaul-of-motorbike-taxi-sector-stuck-in-neutral-41796 Looks like Pattaya will need the Junta/military to solve thise problem...
  21. Hi. A visit to the 2 main reservoirs of Pattaya this afternoon. Compared to 10 days ago we can barely see the effect of the rains we had in this period. We would need at least 10x more rain to see a noteworthy increase of these lakes' level... Lake Huai Chak Nok : Note the water level gauge on the right (in yellow on the pillar) Lake Map Phrachan : Sure doesn't look like a rainy season sky... On the way Unusual We have to hope it will rain again and more in the 5 next weeks, becaus
  22. Hi. I went eat a pizza tonight at Brooklyn Diner, following this topic and the nice pics We took a Pizza Napoletana (#5) and I will be honest... It's probably the best pizza that I eat this year in Pattaya . Ok, not everyone like pizza the same way, so I will say it was very similar to the pizza I used to eat in the South of France or North-West of Italia. A nice pizza, easy to eat by hand, crispy and each ingredient very tastefully (tomatoes, cheese, black olives, anchovies, ...) A few observations: The place is easy to find, on Soi Buakhao opposite Soi LK. You can stop
  23. It could become worse, because I think that on this land along the road you are authorized to build up to 14m (?) high, about 5 stories.
  24. For a better idea of Kantary impact on VT6 :
