Humm... Not sure that the disparity in Thailand is worse than in some of our "civilized countries" who get a few people having a fortune of tens of billion of $ while some people just have a few hundred $/month to live with... PS: Example of my country: France: - we have billionaires whose fortune is ~40'000'000'000 US$ - people without resource (work) get a "Solidarity income" of barely 500€ ~680 US$ Disparity?

Good idea. So tourists can go to bars & restaurants, but they find them closed as Thai have to respect the curfew... What else did you read ?

@cbrib: for me the definition of "proportional" means that if a PCX is only 10% "bigger" than a Nuovo, then you should pay only 10% more on the price, by example 33 baht if you pay 30 baht for a Nuovo. Here it's a price by steps, and PCX is just at the beginning of the upper steps, the worse case. But ok, I don't want play on/with words. The important thing is what MM said: Be prepared to pay more for park if you rent a PCX.
-
You don't pay proportionally to the size of your bike . There are just "small bike" and "big bike", there is a separation between small & big, and PCX fall just over the limit. Its higher price may have "helped" to put it in the "big bikes" class. Already saw discussions about that with 20 baht for scooters but 40 for PCX. True that the PCX is not that big, but it looks bigger than it is.

Make me think about the bikes parked all the length of Soi 14: there are now often in double or triple parking rows! Guys who manage the bikes' park at the big hotel near WS may have a problem sooner or later. Police already reminded them that Soi 14 is a "security access to WS for ambulances and firemen" and then must never be obstructed...

Funny that you say that, because this morning a BG got in the lift when I went out. She had a pretty face, but a bit chubby for me. She was a living dead though, sleeping standing up . 6am is a bit early to left though...?

It was closed early Monday morning. No surprised in that: Its customers are mainly people coming from discos when they close, and as now discos don't open at night...

Bad news for 30 day tourist visa exempt stamp holders
Idefix replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
There are pages and pages of discussion on this subject on ThaiVisa, but I still fail to see how it make it more difficult for "real" tourists. You are a "real tourist": use visa exemption and/or tourist visas You live here most of time: get an appropriate long stay visa -
Spankys VIP X Pat Card

A poster you find allover South Pattaya area -
I used to ask to get it at their office. It made the turn of near hostels before and at about 7:00 it was their last stop at their office before "running". I usually was back at 2 PM I don't make visaruns anymore (thanks) but know people who continue to use this agency. Agree that you should not take a minibus who pickup at hotels. You can easily lost 1 hour, at start and at arrival!
-
Inter-Cambo on Soi Buakhao is still at 1'800 baht, they use brand new minibus, total travel is usually 6-7 hours, and price include a food and drink at a big petrol station on the way back. :-) Except if you are 3 or 4 to share a car, it's far cheaper and faster to use this kind of visa run company.
-
It's "always" possible because the officer who will look at your file/papers may forget to check this point, but official rules are that to get a 5-years licence you need to have a non-immigrant visa... Good luck ;-)

Availability of Smartphone replicas
Idefix replied to villaman's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I disagree. I agree. Maybe I would not use them for my work in my country, but for your need in Thailand they are perfect. You can currently get in Tukcom phones "similar" to S3 or S4 for 1'500-2'500 baht, compared to about 12'000 for S3 and 16'000 for S4... Most of these phones are not a "copy" or a "fake phone". They are real phones, with no brand, and are rather similar to famous S3 or S4 (and iPhone probably too). They are sold in some Asia's countries under brand names you probably never heard about. They usualy have less memory/storage than Samsung ones, and the camera len -
Spankys VIP X Pat Card
Idefix replied to spankys bar soi diamond's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Huh? Maybe you mean no more "agency girls"? I know that medicine I take these days make my brain work at slow speed, but I would swear I saw coyotes inside Spankys (from the Soi Diamond) last week-end...?? -
I went there once and will not return. Sure the place is nice and "different". We reserved a table for 4 "in the tree" and girls were impressed by the location, decoration & view. On these points nothing to say, but good. What I didn't like is that the food was very average and the service extremely slow. Classic Thai plates start at about 150 baht. At this price I expect them to be good. BTW, don't forget your repellent cream against mosquitos.

No. This affirmation is false, and I think the OP would only get 15 days.

No,no. The link button is still there :) It's at the top of the left panel, the small icon right of the printer one, and it offers a box to choose "short url" to get the goo.gl one. I use that very often :) If you don't see the left panel, you have a small arrow icon at the top left of the map to open it.
-
Not that popular? I know/read/hear that some guys prefer gels, but I do see many people using pills or asking where they can get Kamagra pills. I don't have any statistics though. And you ?
-
I remember that the first time I saw this panel I understood it the wrong way; like "(you can) Turn Left (at) Waiting Light", so "Can turn left at red light"... It would have been a lot of clear (to me) with a wording like "No Turn Left at Red Light"... BTW why this red arrow? A "standard" no turn left panel would have been lot of clearer:

Getting from LK Metro to the south
Idefix replied to nkped's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
My today experience, just to pour some more oil on the fire I just arrived home (Center Condo) 30 minutes ago I took a baht bus at the Central Road entrance of Soi Buakhao Rather that stopping opposite my condo I stay 100m more and stopped opposite Wat Chaimonkon, then I look at my bahtbus going... He turned on the right to 2nd Road. So for today: 100% of bahtbus I took on Soi Buakhao turned on the right in 2nd Road.
