In an additional blow to air travellers, passengers flying long-haul with a stop off in an EU airport may have to go through security screening again when changing flights, including having bags re-scanned. Strange, whenever I go via Frankfurt, I've always had to go through another security check. In fact nearly got arrested last time, because I forgot I had a bottle of water in my hand luggage.

Yes my flight was from Manchester. I had only traveled with Emirates on one previous occasion, and was at the lowest status level (Blue) I also have basic status with Lufthansa & Etihad, however I think the key is to book direct through the airline rather than a bucket shop

If VAR was in play, we'd still be at the top of the league. My theory to the upgrades were; 1. Single Traveler 2. Smartly Dressed 3. Full Economy Class / Not so full Business Class 4. Member of Airlines Rewards Scheme 5. Handsum Man The trouble with the upgrades is I don't think I can ever go back to Economy .I've had my head turned.

On my recent trip, I booked direct with Emirates, and to my delight was upgraded to Business Class on all 4 legs. Not sure how I wangled that, but it was the first time I booked direct through the Airline.

On my return from BKK in June via Dubai I disembarked to catch the Manchester flight, and went straight through security checks. After a long ramble I finally found my way to the A gate only to discover it was a bus. After a 40 minute tour of the Airport driving around the apron under A380's wings and views any airline enthusiast would dream of, I was dropped of at...........................yes, another security check. Bit harsh. When I was on Pratamnak Beach recently an ashtray in the form of a paper cup filled with sand was left on the table next to the sunbed. This was then cleared away by the beach vendor when I left. Bet the BIB are rubbing their hands together over this.

Personally, I would go to Pattaya at any time I got the opportunity. I have been during every month of the year, and have never experienced it being 'Dead' As a first time visitor Songkran probably would be 'jumping in at the deep-end', however I would recommend everyone see's it at least once. I like the low-season (June-October), mainly due to the accommodation costs being cheaper, and the place being less crowded.

Thanks, what I meant was are there any ATM's that don't charge a fee for using them. I know there used to be a couple that din't charge the B150 or whatever it is now.

Can somebody remind me where (if any), the fee-free ATM's are located.
