  1. Walking back home tonight with a hungarian girlfriend.... more tomorrow...
  2. I promised to check the area.... so here is my report: http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/56382-just-arrived/page__view__findpost__p__917511-
  3. What do you mean ? Wow... I only hoped someone will approach from the dark to save the uniforms... and grass me on this forum... and again hijacking the thread explaining the characteristic of gabor's mental conditions.... instead to argue or say something alternative... You gave me a great possibility to rave about my ban, to insult some unfriendy formations, but I don't want to hijack this thread...Feel free to open a new topic if you are uncertain and have unanswered or untold questions, as it seems you are highly uninformed.... Good points... however my point was, if I want live music I go to a live band venue, if I want to eat I go to an eatery.... and if the girls in the question, I go to a GOGO bar... Please don't be sulky because you are american and please note the " etc. " remarks... I was bantered/insulted many times as a hungarian, but I'm immune of it, it's just a coincidence where I or you was born, I don't believe in the patriotism and in the other herd activities.... As the insulting of the other nationalities on this board.... Whet do you think how an indian or a russian reader would comment it ??? The latest.... However I may agree with Ergodyne the generalizations are usually founded.... until you don't know the given person... BTW, I don't like the LK Metro area, as I have very little experiences ( see in the " Just arrived " topic...) on this trip one bar and 40 minutes... But I give a chance .... maybe ? Why not ?
  4. Thanx God... maybe no two week millionaries and the PA & Shhh misled mental sickos... Who the fuck care about the live music, the decent food, freelancers, russian tourists when going on the hunt ?? No Americans etc.. thanx God, they won't spoil the scene with their mental weakness... I can share only my only one yesterday's visit in the Champagne...there were more stunners in one bar, than in a half dozen WS bars you mentioned... I'm only guess you visited the WS bars long ago...
  5. Recently my internet and water was disconnected... I called the internet provider ( Sophon ) they turned on my internet connection BEFORE to pay anything and on the next day I had to pay 500 baht for the reconnection + the future bills. The water was cut by the condo for a 72 ( seventy two ) baht debt and I had to pay 300 baht fine... ( hmmm... If I arrive after 6pm, I can't even shit... Electric bill is a nightmare....arrived for years with the electric was cut off... My last experience is 3 year old about it, so maybe not perfect nowadays.... I had to ask a new electric metres in Naklua in the electric office and it took 3 months to pay it automatic from my thai bank account ( this is true today too ) Without a TGs assistance I would still sit in the dark.... However, I gave 200 baht for the local maintenance guy, who made me a short cut, so I used the electric for 1 months for free... until the new metres arrived...
  6. I would... and do any times... Anyway, pay barfine for 2 weeks shows he is a cretin... On the other side, when I had a live in and her sponsor ( I paid no barfine or salary and I don't planned to marry her ) arrived for 2 weeks I suggested her to spend some days with him , not to loose her golden goose...
  7. I'm not sure...
  8. For me less fun to meet the known girls ( GOGO ) at the lobby, so I'm happy to pay the barfines, just because I love the variety... However, many regulars are - or would be - happy with the 1000 baht...
  9. By your calculation my price would be 3.500 baht...
  10. Sounds great.. I never met this food, but I will try...
  11. Yes, my generalization was: Thai seafood is crap because tasteless or too spicy.... Pizza company wasn't mentioned by me, I just replied.... I like very much the thai food and usually eat it.... rarely eat farang food... However I never moaned about the non-availability of the decent farang food, just mentioned: the thai seafood is crap ( because tasteless or too spicy ) to compare to the mediterranian seafood ( which is much better for my taste because of the fine combination of the garlic, parshley, wine )
  12. I like the local food like a local food, not the castrated Hotel chain versions... I tried some thai food in the Royal Cliff Royal Wing... the tom yam khung wasthe same ( and a bit dumber ) like in a hole in the wall restaurant except the huge size of the shrimps... I know the difference in many kitchens between the " house style " and the " hotel style "... the latter refined for everybody's taste... ie. no real style.
  13. Read what I wrote: seafood....All countries has different kithens in the midland and in the seaside.... Define the thai foods you mention...I made a generalization: Thai seafood either tasteless, either spicy like hell I tried the Pizza Company... usual fastfood... Not bad at all, just fastfood.. Pizza company and the many Pizza chains use the Italo-American style... Believe or not, whilst in the USA the pizza was a popular ( originated from the south ) Italian food in north Italy it was .... not unknown, but not used...It became more american ( and international ) food, than italian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pizza_in_the_United_States Well... easier to buy a frozen one.... However true, not too difficult to cook... ( and here too, the mediterranian style I mentioned: garlic, parshley, wine ) As the curries... I'm not an expert, but curries isn't indian origin ? However I heard something like a kind curry became an english national food ?
  14. It's called mediterranian sea style, many similarities between the kitchens.. ( YES, I know, Croatia on the Adriatic sea, but anyway the same tastes about the seafood on the base: garlic, parshley, wine.... go and try if you are unfamiliar ) We aren't talking about the french and italian restaurants in Pattaya ( usually not near to the original ) but we talking about the thai seafood and about the mediterranian seafood... Compare the Pizza factory product with the original... is somethink like to compare the Texas steak houses with the Mc Donald's... "Marinara (mariner's) sauce is a southern Italian tomato sauce usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs (such as basil), and onion.[1][2][3] However, there are many variations. Some of these include the addition of capers, olives and spices.[4][5] Traditional southern Italian cuisine utilizes this sauce to add flavor to pasta, rice, seafood and pizza.[6][7] This sauce is also widely used in Italian-American cuisine which has diverged significantly from its Old World origins." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marinara_sauce Visit Italy and see the menu...it's called Spaghetti Vongole...( a specific food from the many others ) maybe in your country it's called Spaghetti clam sauce, just like you may call goulash a specific soup, but we have about 30 kind of goulashes....
  15. How did you guessed ?
  16. Not all the thai seafood...I correct myself, I meant the fruit of the sea..... but usually it's either tasteless served with some sauces to dip to give some taste or so spicy you can't enjoy the variation of the tastes... see the dozens of the refined ways the french cook the mussels, the classic ( garlic, parshley, wine ) italian / croatian style squids, the various type of the pastas with the fruit of the seas etc.... even the so popular lobster thermidor isn't thai style... However I like very much the thai style shrimp balls and I can eat oysters only the thai way...
  17. You are right... but my own personal experiences says.. the Pattaya pix are dramatized... The croatians are ... ok... close to the reality... The good thing there, the beaches are rocky and small... so no crowded and you can jump right into the deep and clear water, good to snorkeling to see the fishes.... definately not for the sandy beach lovers...
  18. If only the beaches, the mood of the city I would forget Pattaya vs Croatia...( my own preferences ) Small ancient cities with really tasty seafood ( thai seafood is crap ) and azure blue sea.... And the... However, still many people prefer the italian beaches ( on the other side of the sea ) I hate...
  19. I know a LOT of the hungarians visiting Pattaya.... many says, what I told on my very first visit ( as a family tourist ) it was a two in one trip: the first and the last.... Many are returning, just because of the friends, the hungarian community ( 90% are non mongers ) Some goes to the beach and swimming in the sea, despite one of the nicest seaside in the world ( Croatia ) is 6 hour drive from the capitol of Hungary... Some are just happy living the social life around the swimming pools and never step in the sea... For the returning ( and long timer ) visitors three main factor plays roles: The mates, the summer in the wintertime and the value for the money scale ( NOT the cheap prices !!! ) ... many migrated from Cuba as their usual winter destination because of the value for the money thing changed...... ( remember, most of them are NOT mongers, relatively rich and high spenders, but like to see the value for their money.. ) In the last few years I witnessed many goes back to Cuba as the value for the money ( NOT only the prices !!! ) is decreasing in Pattaya... 3-4 years ago my circles were around 30-40 people, on my last trip maybe 10-20...

  21. They may think you want to hire the whole car... just jump in, ( the last car ) sit down and wait until the songthaew is full... go... ring where you want to off and pay: 10 baht
  22. I never was charged any extras, true I'm an early bird going home max 1-2am. Yes, always take the girls home on the regular bahtbus... sometimes we sit in the driver's cabin....
  23. I live on Jomtien and I like it very much.... much quiter, than Pattaya, less pollution and noise... For me Pattaya too busy for the daytime to live... Ten minutes to the WS and day and night no problem to return from Pattaya with the bahtbus from the school... The beach slightly, but only slightly better, than Pattaya... also a sewer... However interesting to see the vendors, the people etc... The bar scene ( 1 GOGO bar with their own clientele ) and many beer bars, but the quality of the girls are not the best... just like in the Pattaya beer bars... On my last trip I broke the ice and after 11 year behind me barfined a girl from a Jomtien beer bar.... It was like a time journey about her attitude.... I told her, she can go home, I still pay LT... but no, she stayed... cleaned my room, washed the dishes and cooked breakfast... despite I eat only fruits at the morning, but she didn't knew about it.... She was a 18 year old, big but pretty girl.. no mamasan and ladydrink crap... 300 baht barfine and a big wai receiving the 1000 baht..
  24. Agree, very good in the air, however the field staff are rude with bad attitude...
  25. I bought this original ( ZTE Libra ) and happy with it... ( 7.000 baht ) Knows almost the same like the SAMSUNG Galaxy S2.. ( a bit slower.. not noticable and no gorilla display.. must put a film on the display ... that's all )
