Looked like a damn good party with a sprinkling of Diamonds. Pun looked great and my mouth was watering for a taste of that Pig on the Spit. Cheers Hammer

Let's be honest, unless you're running a bar like DaveThailand does (Blues Factory) then you are making money from sex. Even the Blues Factory makes money from sex, albeit indirectly, from punters bringing their Barfines there to be entertained but you could never call Dave Thailand a Pimp. BTW. I still find DT a Hypocrite for wanting Pattaya to be a non P4P Town yet he doesn't mind taking the Mongers' money if they go to his bar That's why I have never set foot inside the place. I would love to spend a few quid in there because it gets good reviews but some of us have principles

Did you not bother to read the thread before answering? If you go back about three posts you'll see that Alan has said it already

Why are you quoting a post made by Bullfrog way back in October 2006 from another thread? Wierd -
She can still text! Do they have video phones in Los yet? Maybe the BMs can buy two video phones for her?

I prefer the older method. You know. The one where you can actually see the pictures

FREE drinks and a FREE bar fine
papillon replied to alan lad's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I always go to the bar anyway when I'm in town and I've barfined there before as well a few times. Just commenting that the offer has no appeal to me and I think it's misleading. You're also entitled to your own opinions. The guys that think they're being done a favour? Sure, if you're a balloon chaser that's gonna drink your free beer and then disappear without spending a Satang. I think most boardies would enter into the spirit of things and buy a couple of Ladydrinks, tip the waitresses, etc. That means you're doing the bar a favour. Get it? -

Unlucky mate! Trials and tribulations, etc, etc. I appreciate your honesty. Will seek out your bar on my next trip. Be lucky -
FREE drinks and a FREE bar fine
papillon replied to alan lad's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Free draught beer for 90 mins is a generous offer and a good incentive to visit the bar. The raffle for a single barfine is also a nice gesture. What time does the raffle take place? Personally, I wouldn't hang around all night waiting for a raffle where I might win a free barfine. Odds are that I will lose and then I am without a date at a late hour. I also don't drink draught beer in bars because I can't be sure of what I'm pouring down my neck. Good offer if you're on a limited budget or on a long stay (ex pat). Not for me. I think the Topic Title is misleading. Good marketing? I don't think so. I think the net result of this offer will be more pissed off punters than happy ones. People will be unlikely to return if they feel they have been conned. Sometimes less is more. -

What exactly are you offering? Unlimited free beer for 90 minutes and then every BM gets a free barfine? Or.... One glass of draught beer and a raffle for a solitary free barfine at 2 am? Happy New Year -

Could somebody please explain to me why anybody in their right state of mind would pay @ 12 mil Baht for a 3 bed condo in Pattaya? Especially as we all know that a Coup can take place at any time.

Defragmenting an NTFS drive. Another complete waste of time. Your mate was right.

Whitespider has programs installed on his PC that he wants to transfer onto his laptop. The majority of the programs will need to be reinstalled on the laptop. Transfering the files using Xcopy will not install the files, it will merely transfer the files. Xcopy is only good for transferring data in this instance. Try it yourself and see.
-
Making an image file and restoring it to the laptop WILL NOT WORK. Windows will not boot on the laptop from the restored file because the hardware is different. Ghost or XCopy is no good for what he wants to do.
-
Don't waste your time with the above info. It is not secure.
-
I can tell you how to do what you ask, the problem is that it would be a complete waste of time because Windows will not run on your laptop after you've done it. Basically, what you're hoping to achieve can't be done. As has been suggested already, rip the hard drive out of your old PC and bring it to Thailand with you. A Techie will then be able to transfer the DATA to your laptop for you if that's what you want. The best thing to do is buy an external hard drive enclosure and transfer the data yourself. You will have to install all your programs again on the laptop. If I was moving to Los, I would remove everything from my PC and just buy a new case in Thailand. Once you dismantle a PC, the components take little space in your suitcase.

I have spent time in the Visayas. Leyte and Samar. I agree with what you say about the unspoilt beauty in general. You're right that you can live simply and cheaply but you still have problems buying land in your own name and you encounter corruption at every level. I don't think I want to be an old man, mostly defenceless in an environment like that. You often hear of foreigners getting murdered over there by the Filipina wife's family, for the money of course. It goes unreported a lot of the time because nobody is ever prosecuted. I'm a long way off retirement so hopefully things will get better. -
I was confused before I read this post. Now I am even more confused.

You can get advice on a forum like this but is it going to be any good? What info are you hoping to hear that will be a deciding factor as to whether you buy or not? Unless real estate is your business, buying property is going to be a gamble, simple as that. Can you afford to play?
