I've got a large laptop and the room safes at Sabai Lodge take them with plenty room to spare for all your other crap. Don't put anything that's irreplaceable in them though. Often these safes are glued or screwed onto a flimsy wardrobe surface or worse just left lying on the floor in a cupboard. These safes are not too heavy and a determined thief will take the whole safe! Don't be flashing a diamond encrusted Rolex in front of the Bellboy and then leave it in your roomsafe when you go swimming, lol. Better still, leave your Bling at home!

I can also highly recommend the Sabai Lodge. I have stayed there a few times and it's great. Soi 2 has Baht buses coming down from Second Road and turning left at the bottom (Beach Road). They are very frequent so no worries for anybody who has difficulty on their feet (me at 04.00). There was building work going on in January which I doubt is finished yet so you might want to check that out. I was given a fantastic room, heavily discounted because of the noise. It never bothered me at all. In fact, I sound like a bulldozer when I start snoring so I probably annoyed the builders more!

rockinjerry, if it's just a few doors down and on the same side as the Majestic, I reckon that's the place I want. Up a few steps from the street, reception on the left as you enter, lift towards the rear on the right hand side and I seem to remember some stupid little dog always running around reception, the TG would pick it up and pet it, lol. I think I'll go ahead and book it, it's only for 1 night anyway. Thanks to tric11 & Greg_B too. Now I think about it, Parkway Inn sounds really familiar. Damn!

On my last night in Bangkok I stayed at a Hotel on Sukhumvit but don't remember the name of it. I want to book it for 1 night next month. Can anybody help with the name of the place? If you were to walk from Nana to Suk and turn right, you will soon come to the Majestic? If you then carry on a little bit there's a small hotel. The room I had was clean and tidy and cheap for Bangkok. Any ideas?

Has anybody used the wireless internet access here and if so is it available in the rooms oronly the foyer/business centre? How much per minute?

Walked in off the street to the Bangkok Dynasty and asked to see the room first. It was small and dark with no window. I was out of there in 2 minutes. What a dump.

When it rains in Aug and Sept.
papillon replied to marketinsider's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I got caught out by the rain in Bangkok on my trip last June. I was having a few drinks in Nana Plaza before catching a Taxi to the airport. All of a sudden the Heavens broke. I tried to wait it out but in the end it was get wet or miss the plane. The water came up to the middle of my calf muscles on Sukhumvit. Any other day I'd have had on my 3/4 length shorts and sandals. I only just finished getting my boots polished by some kid in Nana as well and had to go home on the plane with wet feet, lol. I've been to Pattaya in September/October before and it seemed to rain once every few days for -
LMAO, that's just too easy!

Try your local bakery and if they don't have any, try a shop that sells safes.

Matty, yeah I noticed them as well last night @ £29 for adult sizes. Later on while watching the Sweden V England farce I noticed they come in both long sleeve or short sleeve styles. Didn't notice if they were different prices or not at Sainsburys. I think I'll wait till I get to Pattaya in June before I buy one, seeing as England's next game is in June anyway. Come on England :)

My advice would be to get to Bangkok as cheap as you can and then get a flight to Vietnam from there. What have you found so far? I'm thinking about doing either Vietnam or Indonesia.

So how do customs identify you as being on a blacklist when you walk through? Once you've cleared passport control, you could be anybody right? Do they scan/punch your passport number into a computer at passport control and then escort you to the customs area or what? Edit: Forgot to say, I heard something on the radio this morning about Sainsburys having the shirts in their stores from today. Something about Sainsburys being official sponsors. Not sure, as I'd only just woke up from a good session last night on the piss.

samaka, Hi, download and install 'ABC-WIN32-EXE' from here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=88285 And then click on the links here: http://www.suprnova.org/ Have fun :)

Sod that then! I'm looking for a cheap DIRECT flight. I've done 2 stopover flights before and the saving isn't worth the extra time (imho).
-
Why even bother buying them? Get yourself a broadband internet connection at home and download all your movies. Every format is out there waiting to be downloaded, DivX, Xvid, VCD, SVCD, KVCD, DVD, plus all the others I've forgotten. Free to download plus no hassle going through customs! I've got hundreds of movies downloaded, the only trouble is finding the time to watch them all.

I can't see a combination of alcohol and Viagra being a problem. I used both last trip and all the alcohol does is kill the effects of the Viagra. Abusing alcohol will kill you. Abusing Viagra will kill you also but combining them makes no difference whatsoever, you'll still die

Depends how long you're going to be renting for and how many of those nights you're going to be going to Pattaya for Sanuk. At night when the regular Baht Buses have stopped running, you'll have to do a 'private hire' with the driver to get back to Jomtien. Expect to pay @ 100 Baht plus the extra time and aggravation arranging/doing the journey. Either that or two moto taxis @ 100 Baht each. After a few beers and with a hot date eager for some action, I could do without all that extra hassle. Your date will expect her fare home again as well. Many won't do the journey back on their own becaus

Is that a direct flight or stop @ Dubai?
-
I applied for that after reading your post and it works out at £365 INCLUDING taxes. Quite good still and I'm seriously tempted. Thanks for the post.
-
It's here for £325 plus taxes per person, 2 people travelling: http://www.leestravel.co.uk/offers.htm Trouble is I've got no friends I want to travel Heathrow to Bangkok on 4th June for 2 weeks. I'm flexible but MUST be there on June 15th. P.M. me anybody that wants to hook up, no strings attached
-
I'm on broadband and it's taking upto a minute for a page to load. Just me or others having this problem? Also, how do you tell when there's a new post? The envelopes on the left are all the same light blue colour, even though there's new posts that I haven't read yet.
