Emirates - New 2 class configuration A380 starting soon.
Fatboyfat replied to Fatboyfat's topic in Airline Discussion
I suppose that would be a fair argument for them changing to the 2 class high density model on the Manchester flight then. I only tend to use the A380 for the Bangkok legs, and the 1st class is generally at capacity (of course I don't know how many of them have been upgraded; Some occasionally "stand out like sore thumbs" though ) My UK legs were normally to Glasgow, and First was always at capacity there, but there are only 8 suites on the 777s used on that route.Your mate must be a lucky guy, or well thought of, as there were many quite high tier Skywards members complaining that Emirates w -

I had one of these come to the bar I had aeons ago. Cheeky bar steward wanted 33% of each drink that "his" crowd bought; and suggested that I up the charge to those customers, in order to maintain profits! I suggested that he "went forth and multipled" ! -
Especially as the flashing of headlights which often accompanies the approaching vehicle is normally considered in the UK as an invitation to "go ahead" , whereas in Thailand it means "Get the f*** out of my way" !

Many years ago I asked a Thai driver with whom I was riding shotgun, "what is the crossing marked out on Sai 2 opposite Royal Garden Plaza all about" ? His genuine reply was that it was to make the road look pretty for the tourists! TIT !

As an apology for posting a Kanye West track earlier Here is one or a medley by the brilliant Dick Dale. 78 years old now, and still kicking up a storm on stage, despite pretty crippling cancer. This one is his "tribute" to Jimi Hendrix who in a sort of 360 degree way was very much influenced by Dick. I cannot recommend his live concerts highly enough , but doubt he will tour outside of the States any more. Upcoming gigs are in California and Vegas.

Unbelievable ! Put a stupid 100/1 each way bet on Prince of Penzance (betting on a name is a silly practice ) and it has only gone and won it ! Shame I only had £2.50p e/w on ! Even had a "bimbo" on as jockey too!

Those photo's of the various and manyfold concrete flyovers/carriageways etc. always make me wonder about the "building practices" used and whether future disasters could come Bangkok's way. Plymouth in UK had many concrete vehicle routes and multi-story car parks riddled with "concrete cancer", as did large sections of the M6 motorway due to poor and dubious building practices (Read profiteering), which were uncovered in time, and renovated with great expense. I am never overly impressed with modern Thai building standards !

Looking forward to the Final tomorrow. Forecast is for 20 degrees and dry, Nearly November in UK!! (Might wear the one and only short-sleeve shirt I brought to fly in this time ) Hoping that might open up the game a bit, as the finals are normally pretty dour affairs for the neutrals. Hard to see the Blacks being beaten, but one never knows, I'll be shouting for the Aussies anyway! The "missus" will no doubt be supporting whoever has the "prettiest" boy in the side ! Sold the tickets for last nights play off to a very appreciative pair of Argentinian girls (Sadly not "that" appreciative t

Yes, and I see Brown 1950s post above would make both legs similar; I'd lay odds on them dropping the early morning Manchester flight (777) when the high density starts on that route too. For the moment that morning option would be preferable as the BKK A380 flights involved are not changing, and the 777 biz accomodation looks to be the same as on the A380s, but no bar (The Glasgow route uses these, and although I used the boxes up front, which are exactly the same, the biz section also looked the same as the A380).I think most people anticipated the biz section being at the front, with the -

Re the above rant........ and just as in the case of my earlier gloating at the league cup demise of Arsenal and Chelski, right on cue reality comes back to haunt My United get dumped out by the "Smoggies". LVG must really hate this cup!!!; And a fine example as to why the England national side do so well at penalty shoot-outs!

Yes there are steps at the back, but the point you highlighted is exactly the one that is causing a brouhaha on the dedicated flying forums.I was picturing the Biz class pax struggling through the economy sections with "the great unwashed" ( : poor taste ?) chucking garbage at them, unhappy at being told to remain seated whilst the "hoity-toity amble through. Bizarre decision indeed! The one saving light is that at least in economy upstairs the config. Is 2-4-2 rather than the 3-4-3 downstairs. -
I found that a few hotels that used to happily just swipe your card for security, and charge in full at the end of the stay, had changed last year, and now require the payment in advance. However, they all let me pay in whatever period I chose. (I generally opted for weekly payments for any longer stays).

Arsenal got tonked last night in the league cup. Weakened side, but then again so was Sheffield Wednesday. Probably the most loyal fans in the country (Still maintain exceptional crowd sizes despite many years flitting between the 2nd and 3rd divisions), and deserve success if only for that. Both Owls and Leeds really should be in the premiership, and have suffered with inane owners and boards for far too long. At least the Thai owners at Sheffield "seem" to be acting better than predecessors. Chelski out too despite fielding full strength side; Expect even more Moaninhoing now! The med

I'm not too sure if this flight is much used by transit travellers, but I have on occasions used it when just travelling as far as Dubai, due to "sociable" hours, but will no longer do so due to 1st removal. They are introducing their mass people carrier on the EK376/377 flights in early December (Arrives BKK 1300 Departs BKK 1600) These monstrocities have had the 1st class removed and Business class capacity greatly reduced. Capacity now up to about 615; Boarding and clearing immigrationq, luggage etc gets even more fraught I would imagine, especially as they have bizarrely configured the Bi

I used to see this fellow at numerous concerts back in late 60s/early 70s. He seemed to be the opening act to 2-3 other major bands for what seemed like every other concert I went to! One of the best exponents at "electifying" the acoustic guitar. RIP.

For those tapping into Sky Sports TV there has recently been an excellent advert for Skybet with a really "good and dirty" bass loop going on in the background. This is it....Not my favourite artist and future president of the USA, but the track.......I likee velly much!!!!!
