Where can I find a good English (Irish or Scottish) breakfast
Fatboyfat replied to goldeni's topic in Restaurants and food
The Continental probably has the largest selection of breakfasts; and every one of the best brekky venues mentioned will be using their bread too. -
Most of the more notable chefs in the UK all say that the secret to perfect fish & chips (apart from the obvious quality and freshness of the fish) is down to the cooking medium;…And animal fats (lard) is the best option available. However I only know of a few places around the Grimsby/Cleethorpes/Hull area and a couple of top fish restaurants in Scotland that still cook it that way, oh and Rick Stein's places, obviously. Well worth a detour IMHO, but not to be noshed on a regular basis!

Gawd … I thought you might have had a chance on that first one, but not with 9 men! Nobody is really saying much about Newcastle (remarkable for the normally verbose Geordies), but they are riding quite high at the moment.Top results more or less went to plan yesterday, but a lot of turn-ups at the bottom. City are "something else" at home nowadays, and I reckon Barcelona will not be too happy with their Champion's League draw. Belated Merry Xmas to participants of the most civilised Footie thread, ever !

Hope you never went to an Elvis or Meatloaf concert !

I see the OPs restaurant is now on Door2Door. Good move, from a business point of view. LOL Maybe Bigmick could have his delivered in a coolbox, for home-cooking?!

Are those things in MacDonalds, Burger King etc actually made of potato?

Looking for the spice: Saffron
Fatboyfat replied to rmicheald's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
As you can see from posts above Saffron is not really a Thai spice and consequently is more expensive than it is in UK and probably States as well. I think I have seen it on sale at Abu Dhabi airport, and if your flights take in a Middle Eastern stopover, it may be a better option to get it there. -
What is that tube construction thingy in the last set of photos?
-
Excellent photo-set as ever RT. I was trying to remember whether the Ambassador had one of the notorious "coffee bars" annexed to it in the 60s. We visited one, which I was sure had that name, and had a whale of a time. Prior to that we had tended to frequent the Mosquito bar and others around that dock area. Altogether a far sleazier experience.

You are right ; Hemel Hempstead is where I was thinking of. Also I notice CTs submission is a photoshopped version of the actual Swindon version.LOL… Milton Keynes has enough ridicule to put up with, without one of those crackpot schemes !!!!
-
Good Grief ! At least they aren't trying to apply the "Milton _Keynes" abortions, where the traffic reverses direction around each of the mini-roundabouts!
-
Part-time really, just renting an extortionately priced "duplex"; but I moved the buisness base here a few years ago.

I know your post twas in jest; but Holland is the somewhat surprising answer, according to one of the older establishments blurb. Can ' t remember which one now tho'. (It was Simon's)

Pretty daft comparing prices of fish and chips ,especially imported fish, between UK and Pattaya IMHO. Jeez, Ive just paid the equivalent of 450 baht for a, not very special, Pad Thai in Edinburgh! Same silly comparison !
-
I wouldn't bank on it! This is my team, and I plus several other ticket holders in my vicinity are getting more and more pissed off with these antics, which are almost certainly coming from the Carrington Road training ground. Young,Nani,Janovic,Welbeck, and a few others, even a noticedly reluctant Rooney on occasions, are at it. I would be interested to hear from a Villa supporter wrt Young's play when he was there; I don't recollect him being a diver there, just a very effective penalty taker. We do appear to be the "diviest" team in the premiership and it has to stop. Even Ronaldo seems to

I'm with MM on this one. To block off a roundabout in the way that they did was ridiculous, accident or no accident. Motorcycles driving on the wrong side of the road, against the traffic would appear to be a bigger killer than roundabout etiquette. If they are that worried about a roundabout they should have replaced it with yet another set of lights.

That could well happen in the Summer anyway, if one of 3 clubs come calling. The new contract was all about stopping a January departure IMHO. The problem was that he, along with all Liverpool players was on a relative pittance in comparison to Rooney, Van Persie, Aguerro etc; Less than half their weekly wad in fact. That is no longer the case, although it is still just below the ridiculous £260,000 per week that we pay Sick Van Persie and Rooney!

How full do the Thai Airways flights get on the LHR-BKK route?
Fatboyfat replied to Gus's topic in Airline Discussion
Beware also Gus; The Biz seat for the UK to Istanbul leg is just an ordinary economy seat with the middle seat of 3 left unoccupied. -
Does your "View New Content" result look like this ?

How full do the Thai Airways flights get on the LHR-BKK route?
Fatboyfat replied to Gus's topic in Airline Discussion
Emirates business seats are not great on the A380. Quite narrow in fact. Etihad is a better product for Biz and should be of a similar price, and limo included as well. Oman Air is the one receiving all the favourable reports at the moment Gus from London. Haven't checked out their prices tho'. -
AVB has to be on borrowed time now. To be honest I have never seen any exceptional talent from him at any of his clubs, apart from his multi-lingual abilities. Klinsman would be a great acquisition for Spurs; but that'll never happen, Klopp might tho', if the price and time are right. Then again Wenger's job may be the eventual EPL target for him.

LOL. As a Guinness & Murphy's afficianado, I can guarantee you that not ALL stout lovers will love it ! Way too sweet IMHO.
-
I purposely avoided that one LOL. So I think maybe a draw!

"Mystic Mug" predicts really comprehensive wins for City, Chelski and Everton; A tight win for Suarez and further embarrassment for my lot in "the land of a million speech impediments" ! Closer to the relegation zone than the top, and now Van Persie taken to his customary "sick-bed" for a while, the near future does not look rosy! IF Ferguson was still in charge, he would have come out with the statement that " Of course, the Community Shield was the main aim for this season" by now !

Current status in Bangkok and Pattaya 11 Dec 2013
Fatboyfat replied to short's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Are they the hicks ? (Sorry, I'm on smiley suspension at the mo')
