  1. Much better options available on the Soi, and I believe the Whitehouse condotel is the only one to have a dodgy guest policy.
  2. "Salty Leadshot" ! Hugely overrated in my very very 'umble opinion!
  3. I've just got access to my laptop and the editor was switched off on that (IE 9). I have now switched it on for my account and I will see later if that affects the Tablet browser. The toolbar was definately there before, as my posts have been 100% from said Tablet for many months now. I am not a member of any other forums,so I don't think that I will be able to effectively check against them, unless guest visits allow such privileges. Please don't bust a gut on this issue Martin, as the only real miss for me is the Emoticons; and "Ive always been misunderstood" anyway !
  4. Hopefully that worked. I really am not sure on this Samsung tablet's workings!
  5. I seem to have recently lost all but this basic reply box. I have the emoticons box ticked etc, but nothing is visible. A previously mentioned "switch" in top left of reply box is also not there. Any suggestions?
  6. As hinted at by Tom, these "yellow shirted assholes" don't want another election; which they will lose comprehensively every time. My own "blinkered" take is they will gradually cause more and more mayhem, until either the police/army violently surpress them, (highly unlikely) or the military take power again, after some clashes with "reds" which is probably their aim. I have a horrible feeling that this one is going to drag on and on, beyond February. On a more hopeful note tho'; My missus, who was an ardent "yellow" with appalling torylike attitudes, has "burnt her shirt" quite literally ove
  7. Get the CIA to "take out" Ronaldo ! That should even things up a bit.
  8. They have had retrospective bans for diving, gleaned from post match videos, for a couple of years now in the Scrotish Premier League. (Also Serie A in Italy, I believe). I don't watch SPL football, but staff that do assure me that it works reasonably well, although there are the odd gripes, seemingly based on the fact that the result still stands, which would be really difficult to compensate for. It also has been simple to impose; once the clubs somewhat surprisingly voted for it; and guilty cheats attract an automatic 2 match ban.
  9. Defoe seems to be one of those "unfortunate" players who never seems to do much wrong, but is dropped for long periods, normally to accomadate some "show pony". Crouch used to suffer in a similar way. I don't blame him chasing the limelight over in the States.
  10. The problems in the past were due to a large number of good quality counterfeits that were in circulation, and that the old notes were considered easy to copy. The new notes have been specifically designed to avoid this, and are readily welcomed at most if not all exchanges and banks.
  11. I do wonder sometimes at this loaning out of players , when I am feeling in a real "conspiracy theory" mood. Buy up an excess of top players… then loan them out too reasonable clubs; in the anticipation of them doing damage to your closest rivals, and additionally said team cannot play him against you, thereby disrupting their flow for those two games!
  12. Sounds extravagant I know, but one of my employees, who is a bit of a "big ol' boy" got caught in exactly the same predicament as you GP. He got one of the tailor shops to rustle up a couple of pairs for not too much Baht. They appeared the same day he ordered. Having said that, he regularly uses them for shirts and troos etc.
  13. Best of luck; menu looks just like the UK takeaway normal (minus my beloved mushroom fu yung !). Are you going down the Door2Door/WOW delivery road? I would imagine that to be fairly advisable, at least in the short term, until a "glorious name" is achieved.
  14. Off to Twickers on Saturday and fully expect a decking (use kiwi accent there ). They seem a bit miffed, and have quoted in places "that the France game was just a contended training session" in preparation! Still; we always play better as "underdogs", but I feel that England is too much in transition at the moment and missing too many first choices. Corbisiero is probably going to be the biggest miss. Oh well… miracles happened last year !
  15. That all looks great Martin, and a great "antidote" to the "catfood buttie in a bag" depicted in the preceding post! I agree, that shrimp cocktail is the biz!; just needs the bread from that catfood sarnie instead of the ubiquitous "Continental toast bread". Though hardly cheap, I thought the place to be of good value wrt quality and service.
  16. The old Kai Tek airport approach "down main street", had to be the most extreme experience afforded to passengers and pilots alike on a regular basis. To quote a Cathay pilot "Always breath-taking, but totally hair-raising for the first time"! Then of course you could always fall in the drink, if you overshot the landing zone,or didn't hammer the brakes on quick enough! It is used as a Cruise terminal now.
  17. No ! Something that did "hit home" with the older videos was the almost total disappearance of the trees and shrubbery today in comparison to the 80/90s. It sort of goes unnoticed when you are regularly visiting or living here.
  18. Mata Hari charged 1200 Baht for about 200g Calves Liver when it was on their menu. Current UK price is circa £30 or 1,500 Baht/ Kilo… if you can get hold of it. All veal related meats are a bit difficult to obtain readily in Scotland. Anyways thanks for the Cherry recommendation. I'll give it a shot later on in the month hopefully. Now if I could just get a trustworthy report on the Bali Breeze (Indonesian/Dutch) restaurant in Jomtien …
  19. Hotels tend to get cheaper from mid-Jan. Restaurants tend to give you 6 koong instead of the peak season 5 !!!! Sadly, the pesky Russians know this too!
  20. Probably Fraser Forster at the moment, with Ruddy having just blotted his copybook somewhat! Champions league participation will help his claim.
  21. No… the Calves liver is a main course item, grilled or fried, not a pate. It costs a fortune here in UK, more than fillet steak, and I have only come across it before in Pattaya at Mata Hari and Brunos, so you can imagine what they would be charging for it.
  22. If it really was "calves" liver available (Do you believe it to be so ?) then the 380 Baht is a real bargain for that alone!
