  1. As a United supporter, I have never idolised Fergie, quite the opposite in fact; but to accuse him of responsibility for the current "mess" is a bit rich. The deep seated problem is the Glazers; Fergies biggest flaw in my eyes was his wholesale support of them ( self-survival I suppose). I am absolutely certain though, that the rejection of Mourhino (who would probably have enforced success fairly quickly) was also down to Ferguson's sense of self-importance rather than the clubs continued success.
  2. Have just read on Beebs News texts, that Vanessa Mae, the world renowned "fiddle player" and "hottie", has just met the qualification standards to compete. She is competing for Thailand, using her Thai (father) name, Vanessa Vanakorn.........Sounds a bit like the "Eddie the Eagle" venture to me, but good on her I say !
  3. I personally try to avoid the midnight - 0230 scrummage out of Bangkok to Europe, even if it means a slightly longer stopover in one of the middle east lounges. If I am using hotels in Pattaya, I've invariably had problems moving into a permanent room prior to1400, so would look for arrivals between midday and 1800.
  4. Another nail in Fat Sam's coffin today! The "king of mirth" was actually bleating that his team had the best record for clean sheets in the nether regions of the division. I suppose that's what can be achieved by sending out 10 defensive outfield players against mediocre opposition home or away! Hammers are my tip for the drop; Not sure as to who will accompany them yet, as even Sunderland are now showing the right attitude albeit with a very limited squad skillwise. West Brom and Fulham would be a guess if pushed, but both have redeeming qualities.
  5. There may well be a few more "Jellyvic" type moves coming up this month, as World Cup hopefuls need to get themselves in the spotlight. I am led to believe that this is the "secret reason" ( Mourinho-ism) for Lukaku being at Everton. De Bruyne must also be looking for a move temporarily, as this coming WC is looking to be a good one to represent Belgium in. On another track despite all the platitudes, I reckon today may well be "Judgement Day" for Fat Sam.
  6. Love the Angelwitch photo/joke M. Great read as ever!
  7. Seems every time ol' Sigi tries to get a bite, he shows himself up to be "the font of all ignorance" when it comes to most things "football" !!!
  8. LOL. Much as I admire Lucy Liu's looks …… to portray a woman as Watson is utter sacrilege IMHO !
  9. I have paid for my cousin to make the tour this time, ("Barmy Army" veteran who has suffered recently from UK government policy) who has traditionally saved all of his earnings to pay for these jaunts; and so know of the pretty enormous costs following this sport. It is not the fact that England are losing the Ashes (Alledgedly the majority of more knowledgable fans expected to lose a tight series), it is the manner of the losses.
  10. Love the decapitated teddybear shot ! Wonder what on earth that was really about. Many thanks Monks for the thought and effort consistently made in this section. ( Insert "Cheers" smiley) !
  11. Looks like England have been saving their best for this last test ! 25 for 5 at the moment!!! Feel free to move this to the "Jokes and Funnies" forum if more suited !
  12. I have just watched that vid and fail to see why anyone, no matter what your own views are, would whinge about it. If that is not what you see in Pattaya, then I must assume the alcholic fuzz has taken over. There was no "sensationalism" depicted there.
  13. Yeah I see that too… With Liverpool taking the 4th spot. However Liverpool will not qualify for Champion's League; Due to United pulling off a stunning and unexpected win in this year's Champions League Final !!!!! 5555555
  14. WOW… Even more remarkable that such a first post should appear on here, directly after you have been censored ( rightly or wrongly!).Do you perchance suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder, or just a member of some "League of Trolls" club. (Sorry, Emoticons unavailable)
  15. The drinking is not the problem;… It's when you stop and sleep that the damage is done !!!
  16. LOL Seen through the eyes of a "shed load" of San Mig.!!! I normally find that delicacies such as the "midnight Doner" take on that appearance!
  17. I assume he means bottled water by the term "sterile", and not distilled water. Tea made with distilled water is f'ing disgusting!
  18. …And most flyers from the North UK would tend to avoid an Heathrow transfer like the plague!
  19. Yes I'm sure Basil is right there, much in the same way some ancient threads get resurected on here by newbies, and then taken up by all and sundry until some "pedant" points it out !
  20. Nothing to do with the poster's equally anti-bigotry posts directed your way in another thread then ?!Having said that, I haven't quite sussed under which name he was posting somewhat contrarily here previously. "Modding gone mad" I say !!! LOL.
  21. Yes, either Schipol, Brussels, Manchester or Dublin from Glasgow.
  22. I've just checked Emirates site and they do have flights available for the mid-January slot you were looking for. A bit more expensive tho'. £743 return to Manila. Also you do know that Emirates fly directly to Angeles city (Clark Int Airport), don't you ? These flights are slightly cheaper, £694 or £714 for Fri,Sat & Sun departures. The stopover in Dubai is also very slightly shorter on the return !eg; still 8 hours though. One other thing about Emirates 777s in cattle class covering the Asian market; they squeeze in an extra seat across the aircraft. "Built for Thai girlfriends!"
  23. Yes, Spurs at Old Trafford could be an interesting barometer. United have had a good run, but against some of the worst teams in the league. Spurs have traditionally thrown games to United in particular ( media quote, not mine) in order to rot up other London teams (Arsenal in particular)…So will that be the case this time round ? …(I really need smileys here !). As I am fairly pragmatic about United not contending the League this season ( 4th place will be a minor miracle!) I am happy to see it so tight, and would love to see it go to the wire for 4 or more teams in the mix over the last two
