Let's hear what's going on with you now...similar to Facebook
Fatboyfat replied to MM's topic in Idle Chit Chat
I was told that many of the troupe have achieved Naturalised status in the UK now; they have been a regular fixture at the Edinburgh Festival for seemingly yonks. -
I use fast track every time, due to class of flight. In general my arrivals tie in with the general "flood" from the middle-eastern carriers. Every time, without fail, I arrive at the luggage carousel before my bags ( which are additionally fast-tracked by the airline). So if that quick arrival passage through the airport is important, then the extra fee for fast-track would be worth it. (Unless it is silly money of course!) Departure does not seem to have much effect, but only put it to the test once, when the "missus" went through normal and I went through fast-track (only economy seats lef

Can back up the Changthong. Haven't stayed there myself, but visited someone staying there a few weeks back. I was quite impressed as to standard and value of room.

Probably wise; a rise in interest rates is thought to be imminent in UK, and is probably fuelling the strengthening of Sterling. That traditionally improves exchange rates, just as Thailand's recent cut has been detrimental to the Baht. Greece could cause havoc to European currencies of course, and not only to Euro based countries.

Is that ol' BigPeanutUSA behind JFK in that video pic?

Why did Greece's bid to host the 2018 Football World Cup fail?
Fatboyfat replied to Basil B's topic in Funnies Section
History does not bode well. For those of us old enough and sober enough to remember, Blatter was meant to be the "breath of fresh air" and was well supported by UK amongst many others at the time, to clean up it's act after the decidedly dodgy Havalange's reign. I also don't believe that EUFA are squeaky clean either.Hmmm.....thread appears out of place now ! Must be heading for another petulant "back to the OPs original quote" type admonishment ! -

Ironic... in the light of real events occurring at the moment! -
Maybe for "newbies" such as yourself ! Certainly not for any "ancient mariners" or pioneers!

Yes Gus, I tried google and couldn't find any trend good or bad; as you say mixed but I didn't notice anything exceptional just the normal whinges on tripadvisor that any company gets. The credit card charge was not noted though, and would add on some ï¿¡60 for this fare, so thanks for that. No great problem though if the product is what I would normally get, due to savings involved, and the insurance provided by credit card use is a must really. I haven't used a third party booking agency for ages now, generally booking direct through airlines websites, and only came across this lot by accident

I am getting some quite remarkable quotes for flights from this company. Eg a saving of some £1300 on a 1st class return flight from Glasgow to BKK with Emirates. Being a bit of a cynic I tend to be suspicious of things that appear almost too good to be true. Anybody had any dealings with this booking company, especially with regards to premium class flights?

I'm not too sure that the player problems, in particular Sterling, can be attributed to Rodgers, and I am certain tht Mario Battlebelly was forced upon him. Much the same as Man.City, I don't see them knee-jerking unless a big name comes available, Ancelloti possibly; but as a "top" club manager, Rodgers is still learning, and they knew that would be the case when he was appointed. As the only British manager of a "top" side I sincerely hope he isn't given the boot. As regards Gerrard, I honestly believe that these ultimately corrupt "Fair Play Regulations" are forcing clubs to offload their

I seriously doubt there will be any favours (Only "Shagger" Giggs remains in the buisness end of the playing squad and management from Bruce's days) and many assessors will be looking for that very action. Having said that, I can see no reason as to why Hull could not win; We have slipped back to playing very average football again, and they could already be on the beach, assuming that an early start to training may be required for next season's CL qualifiers. All the talk is that Newcastle cannot win or even get a draw; Sadly I disagree, West Ham have been going through the motions for some

I was once advised by a "real" doctor that much of the "so called" food poisoning with respect to the Brit tourist can be attributed to drinking beer at a far, far colder temperature than they are used to. Even the chilled lagers in UK do not reach the icy lows needed to make Thai beers palatable, and the stomach takes time to attune to that.

What a Steak Dinner Should Look Like
Fatboyfat replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
It doesn't always hold out that high prices in the land of production lead to a rise in export prices. A while back I used to trade Argentina & Uruguay; The exported beef was among the cheapest available for quality beef, however was an extortionate price in the restaurants and shops of both BA and Montivideo, if it was available at all. -
Pogba's departure was due largely to a clash of character. Ferguson always won out in those situations, of which there were many. If United had kept all of the players that fell foul of the "super ego", (including the early departure of Schmeichal alledgedly) United may possibly have been the best ever clubside in the world, over a long period. Conversely they could have exploded in a flurry of recriminations. Who knows? For all our success and parochial domination in the Ferguson era, the European return was relatively dismal.

I think the latest drop is ll about the pound rather than the Baht this time. "Pumped Up " plonker Dave looking less and less likely to get in again, and markets showing trepedation. Poor UK manufacturing figures released on Friday too.

I, along with I daresay the majority of contributors here, have been using room safes or lobby boxes all over the world for more than half a century now; andd have NEVER been robbed. Now should you be one of the vey unlucky ones you will likely take a different view, but I would recommend avoiding paranoia on the subject. However, should you still continue to worry, a check on the hotels trip advisor pages would likely highlight any repetetive problems with a hotel, and I would advise against huge sums of cash notes being held. I am highly suspicious of those claims involving huge sums thoug

Just a possibility, but one that does affect me. If you redirect your e-mail from your providers site to say "outlook" on your pc, then you will likely have 2 spam bin folders, one that you have set up in outlook and one that your provider has set up at source. Many e-mails are filtered out into this original folder before messages forward to your outlook account. I only noticed this when I started using a tablet, and was required to access my providers account for emails when away from home. This problem multiplies further if even more redirections occur, such as Gmail etc.

If there is any club deserving of a relegation slot, it must be Newcastle in my very 'umble opinion. An owner that hates the supporters, a crowd that ridiculously made a perfectly good manager's life unbearable. The appointment of the club's "kitman" as manager, once the inevitable happened ( surely another spiteful action by the owner); and a team of a few relatively untalented local players supplemented by a huge number of selfish and pointless mercenary journeyman continentals, who gave up playing yonks ago! A game against Newcastle is on every club's wishlist at the moment. As for the top

Where can I watch Pacquiao/Mayweather on May 2?
Fatboyfat replied to MeGoDanceNow's topic in Sports Talk
I was amazed at the number of purchasers for the "ppv" on tv, at the ridiculously high charge; Especially when the result and style was so predictable. The equivalent of 1000 baht here in UAE, and similar in UK I believe. -
What a Steak Dinner Should Look Like
Fatboyfat replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
The names of these steaks can be quite confusing. For example Hub's NY Strip (UK sirloin) looks to be exactly the same as MM's Rib Eye. I do like Rib eye, but in UK there is generally a large"ish" circle of fat in it (I always assumed that to be the eye) which nicely bastes the steak during cooking. As for taste, I always find that the length of time that it has been hung dictates much more than feed etc.; although I am led to believe that the cattle must be grain fed in order to facillitate long aging processes. EU regulations somewhat decimated the good beef taste in UK many years ago, but -
Unfortunately the answer to that is almost certainly no. The whole "Premier League" set up was devised partly to repel intruders. Bournemouth in particular would have to seriously strengthen their squad, and having come from recent administration, will not go nuts, much as Burnley have done. In common with Burnley though, they do have a much admired, and additionally, young manager; who may become hot property after a season in the top echelon.

Bournemouth into the premier league next season ...... Who'd have thought it !..And Southampton get a genuine local derby match again.

The UK exchange rates are fairly changeable at the moment, and do seem to fluctuate with certain statements. That last significant drop coincided with an Osbourne statement on an Andrew Marr interview, that he did not foresee any early rise in interest rates should the Tories get in again. Talk of referendums on Europe obviously seem to cause jitters too.
