If you are thinkig about making a connection thru Shanghai, be aware that you must go thru immigration and customs when you arrive. If you have checked bags, you must pick them up and then go up to departures and recheck them on your next flight. There is no transit procedure as in other airports such as Tokyo, Hong Kong, Inchon, or Taiwan.

Just shows how the same thing can be a different experience for different people. I had the ear cleaning at a barber shop on Soi Buckaroo as well, perhaps the same one as the OP, but I enjoyed it. No pain at all. Maybe my ultra waxy ear canals saved me.

Emil is correct. The theaters are where they have always been. The ticket booth has been moved again, now next to the bowling alley. And I have to agree, opening it up to the market vendors sure makes it hard to walk thru at night.

Personally I don't care for BKK but if you've never been, you may want to experience it. If you choose to go to Pattaya and have the money for a taxi, based on your arrival time of 11pm you can most likely be in Pattaya no later than 2am. Still plenty of action available at that time.

I had a burger and fries there in mid-November. The food was fine although I think it's still over-priced compared to similar fare at other places.

Don and the Cowboys vs Bart Starr and the Packers....some great games back then. Watching MNF was a highlight of the week for me when I was a 12 year old kid. His arguments with Cosell made it all the better even if the game was boring. He also had a short stint as an actor after MNF.

My trip last month was just over $1200 from Fort Myers, FL. on Korean Air. I booked it in August however.

I went thru a travel agent in Pattaya as well back in 2005 or 2006, can't remember. Had a great hotel, mini-bus pick-up to ferry, and minibus pick-up on island. Everything smooth as silk. Don't know about nightlife as I just stayed at hotel all three days with girl from Pattaya. Great place for a change of pace.
