  1. I have always been able to get 30,000 baht from the Family Mart next to the Robins Nest on Soi Diana. As said before, to do that I had my US bank raise my daily withdrawal limit.
  2. I'd say spend your money in Pattaya but if you've never been to BKK you may want to give it a night or two.
  3. I went to those ruins north of Korat back in the early 90s. Do they still charge foreigners at least twice the price as the Thais pay?
  4. Stupidest play ever!!!!!!
  5. I thought the prehistoric first draft picks were good where the countries were picking their animals and Mexico picked the avocado.
  6. I'm disappointed with the lack of really funny commercials so far!
  7. So just a couple hundred feet from where it was but now on the opposite side and still a good view of the ladies going to work.
  8. As long as I can find it, I can deal with that.
  9. Yes, that's where I eat quite often when I'm in town. Good food and good prices and been there a very long time run by the same family.
  10. Yeah, kings generally have an armada of vehicles clearing the roads in front of them for their journeys. Obama could tell you on his way to the golf course.
  11. A very good airline in my opinion. It's been a few years since I have flown them but my flights from NY to Hong Kong and then on to BKK were pleasant as I remember.
  12. United no longer does go to BKK, but they will still get you there on ANA or another star alliance airline.
  13. If this was true, he obviously recovered because he is still doing radio commercials wherever his stores are located.
  14. Florida is nice this time of year.

  15. Yeah, I don't get it either. Can you explain it in detail Sailfast?
  16. When I flew back this month, I went thru Narita on a United codeshare flight. Thai Airways from BKK to NRT. ANA from NRT to Chicago. When I checked in at the Thai counter in BKK, I got boarding passes fro both flights, only had to go thru security in NRT, which was the emptiest I had ever seen BTW.
  17. I was there for 17 nights in August and I was in room #1 which is a back side room on the first floor. The go-go noise starts at around 1800 and as I said in the above post continues until 0400. Paradise is right next to the Metro and you can feel the vibration from their speakers, at least on the lower floors. Add in all the other go-gos, bars, motorcycles, hello girls, and loud speakers coming from all directions and it isn't the quiet street it used to be. For me it's not a problem, I know what to expect and deal with it. Like I said, if you require undisturbed sleep before the nois
  18. If you're looking for really silent sleep between 1800 and 0400, you should definitely have some quality ear plugs. As well as noise, vibration of your building can also be an issue.
  19. Perhaps you've mistakenly hit that little "Collapse" option at the bottom.
  20. Thanks Short, that was good. The schools need to show that everyday.
  21. Welcome to the board. (WTTB) Ditto.
  22. I doubt that will last long, Central movie theaters aren't that far away.
