Good advice and this is one reason that I use outfits like Sawadee because in essence they are out there negotiating with the management for the deals on my behalf. Sure they have to make a living but I always get a better deal with the agencies that the rates advertised on the individual web sites.

I too would be interested in this. I had a look at the standard Opey rooms and was not really impressed and the safe boxes were in the foyer if I recall correctly. Perhaps the Junior Suite has better appointments. I have however noted that studio flats can be had for as little as 15000 per month at VT6 and wonder if this is a one man option?

Going back to the Flamingo. Yes I am also sure that there are better places to stay but... 1. Its handy to some good pubs and clubs. (Heart of Darkness 100 mtrs) 2. The free airport pick up is worth $10.00 so than makes the first night only $15.00. 3. Its also handy to the Central Market and the large shopping centre. 4. If the roof bar is still open its a good place to hook up with others of a similar persuasion.

Thanks Chic I had just about goiven up on Asia Rooms. I have come to the conclusion however that to get the best deals you need to use a number of sites. Last trip I used Expedia, Sawadee and Air Asia as well as another airline and I believe that I got the best overall deal by doing this.

I work on the basis that if I leave stuff they will keep it or dump it but its really not my problem then and I am happy either way.

Good response Greg. Perhaps this is the place for a bit name and shame if you had no response whatsoever. Having said that if the people are regulars or have a referee that is known to you perhaps you might like to make up a preferential list that make these people into VIP guests.

Do the renovated rooms have safes? What is the extra cost? Is there a pool and if so whhat is it like? The price looked good for the location

Have you in fact had any response from the Owner or Manager re this situation. Seems to me that the place has different rules for different people and I would have liked to hear what the management had to say.

I have to commend the breakfast there. The other thing thats important to me is to have good newspaper material avaiable to read with my meal and your place is very good for this.

Only ever used sawadee because I thought that their prices the best and the service has been personalised and have never had a problem.

I have stayed here a few times and have always got the best deal on Sawadee.com. I generally pay approx 900 baht per night in low season after getting a couple of nights free. I believe this to be good value for the service, location, 2 pools and breakfast is usually included.

Whatever the date please pass my best wishes onto Ricky as he is a champion and helps make Patts what it is, what sets it appart and why you never need feel lonely when your on your own. I say this not just from the Baby Doll era but going back a while. Best wishes Teelack

I understand that there is a limit to what you can offer for a lower price accommodation. OK, no swimming pool but at least do a deal with someone in the locality for us to use it. OK so no restaurant. How about a deal for somewhere local to supply in room meals or perhaps to the guest lounge ar sun terrace or wherever. OK so no bar, the give people the option of a stocked or empty fridge. One thing that I now refuse to do without is a in room safe but please spend a little more and get a bit of quality that can handle laptops etc.

Can I sughgest that you look at perhaps 3 web sites and make some larger scale comparisons. These are mainly OK for hotels rather than rooming houses but they do have some good deals and I have never had an issue using Sawadee but others swear by Agoda or Asia Rooms.

Have to say Rascall that the worst room ever in Patts was at the Grand and in some ways it made me a bit more cautious.

My problem with Soi 7 was the pool. Not very good. The best pool is in the old Eastiny on Soi 8 next to the Sunshine but this hotel is always a bit pricier. I thought about using the new one on Soi 8 but the Cherry Bar almost looks in the front door and that is a no no!

Forgot to tell you Pete but your newish lady Bee is a treasure. Great in the looks department as well. I saw her one night off duty and she can be a stunner so look after her. I am also enamored with Ae and yet again, a pleasant looker and impecable style and manners.
