Any members have any experience with shipping a container from America to Thailand? my wife is Thai and we are planning on moving back to Thailand next year. She is wanting to ship a 20' container with some personal items back home. Anybody know the process and cost involved with something like this? Thanks for the help!

I agree, had a flight four years ago that laid over in Seoul for 12 hours....Hit the hotel and got some much needed sleep. It also made the trip to Los Angeles seem a lot shorter. Top it off the air ticket was $475.00 round trip!

Sorry I missed the food fest. This is really great news about this restaurant, the one thing I've always hated about being in Pattaya was the lack of a good American breakfast!....Please tell me they serve American coffee and with any luck biscuits and sausage gravy. I'll mark this spot in my little book so I can check out next time I'm in town.

It's been so long ago that I really do not remember how I first came across this country. I do remember thinking, who in the hell goes to Bangkok? I think I was looking for an experience that was totally bizarre and journey that I would never forget. Needless to say I've never forgotten, it's actually changed my life 100%. How did you guys find this far away and bizarre place? what made you come here in the first place? regret it? did it change your life? Just curious!

Here's what I do.......I have Vonage phone service, costs $24.00 a month and you can call any number in Thailand including mobile numbers with unlimited talk time. It's been great for us, my wife calls her family several times a week and my kids call their grandparents two or three times. Her mom buys a phone card in Thailand for 500 baht and when she needs money all she has to do is call my wife and my wife calls her right back......hmm......maybe this isn't a very good idea after all!

They stopped selling them about 5 minutes before you got there............Didn't anybody tell you?

Was riding in a taxi on my last trip, every time we came to a red traffic light the driver would push the gas pedal to the floor and fly through the intersection. I asked him why he insisted on running every red light with lightning speed and he replied that all his family drove the same way! when we finally came to an intersection with a green light the driver mashed the brakes as hard as he could and brought the taxi to a dead stop....I asked him why he was stopping for a green light?....He replied that his brother might be coming from the other direction! Thai way of thinking!

We also know that a lot of other countries don't really like us (due to some of our government issues) and sometimes it's just better to keep a low profile and enjoy your holiday, than have it ruined due to some drunk moron who just wants to start shit. Plus most Americans are creatures of comfort and would never take a chance on anything that might end them up in a foreign jail cell. I'm sure due to financial reasons that the majority of Americans who travel to Thailand are older and more mature.

Well here's the deal, my wife and I are in the middle of negotitations with a condo owner in Issan. We will be buying the condo from him on a payment schedule and I guess I don't know what I should be looking for when it comes to a purchase contract. Not at all......Just stating that certian forums were designed to address certian topics...Pretty clever concept, of course I do understand that not everyone is smart enough to grasp the idea (not you of course). But for those of us that do would appreciate having correct posts in correct forums....Unless of course you enjoy looking for used computers in the automotive section! Thai post office is just as bad, mailed a scooter to my daughter and my inlaws (me actually) had to pay twice the amount I paid for it in America for duty taxes!! pay or you don't get the package...simple as that!!
