  1. I kinda figured with his English that anything he said was subject to review. Who goes on vacation in Pattaya and shares a room with a guy anyway? Strange offer. Any takers here? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  2. You're asking someone to pay for a room that's shared? Good luck with that! Hope your friend doesn't mind. I know I would. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  3. Which Kodi version did you use this with? It also seems that the file hasn't been updated since July 2016. Has lanzalad's support for the Minix stopped now?
  4. You're lucky to get in during Bell bus operating times! I always arrive after they've shut down for the night. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

  6. They may be closer than we think to a single dose or short term regimen that keeps HIV infected viral free without continuing anti-viral medicines. Introduction from http://www.aidsmap.com/Spanish-vaccine-induces-viral-control-off-ART-in-nearly-40-of-recipients/page/3118668/ Additionally, the PARTNER study has found that viral load suppression (as achieved through HIV treatment) is successful in preventing HIV transmission to a non-HIV partner. So it might be that Barrief's help with meds could have lowered Ooy's viral load to the non-detectable stage such that she could still
  7. I would like to do that. I have installed Kodi from various internet sources and it never works consistently. Where did you get the "lanzalad package"?
  8. I said (paragraphs added): 1) I gave my experience. Can't see how you can disagree with that unless you were with me. 2) You disagree that the fare is 1500 baht? What is it then? Granted, I haven't taken a metered taxi in 6 months. Has it changed? 3) I've never seen a private hire double parked in the roadway, rather than using the parking lot. That's got to be convenient. Who are these scofflaws you ride with? 4) I don't need a driver that knows Pattaya, since I know where I live and can give directions. 5) I've been lucky I guess...never had a long queue when I arrive.
  9. I love the child bites dog ending
  10. Frostfire explained it in another thread. Apparently, a disk died and the DNS server went down. The problem was resolved after I woke Frosty up and he had a chance to look at it.
  11. I just finished Taboo season 1. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, the scenery, costumes, characters, are all as one would imagine in early 19th century London. The plot, subplots, and their resolution were more contrived than I like, but still worth my time. Tom Hardy's character was amazing. I started to get tired of it towards the end, but the lengths he went to to personalize this brooding, complex, tortured man were quite an accomplishment and were very effective. Good news, by the way, is that season 2 will pick up where season 1 left off, and I can imagine that will b
  12. What a badly written article in terms of grammar and usage. Still, one thing to get from the link is ... "look at how nice that damned car is!" One can be assured that it has much better safety equipment than any metered taxi, songtaew or motorbike taxi around...yet, it's illegal and they aren't. Does it make sense? No, unless you're making money off the junk transport options. You won't see anything this nice at the low prices Uber charges.
  13. Yes, sadly you're probably right. The tuk tuk and songtaew guys in Chiang Mai are contacting the police to harass Uber drivers. If that doesn't work, they will likely escalate. Drivers are being cited for "improperly licensed personal vehicles for commercial purposes". Total bullshit. Now, Land Transport head wants to use Article 44 (NCPO's absolute power catch-all) to ban the apps for Uber and Grab. Transport mafia and their stooges in the government are not happy about a more efficient, rider-friendly, safer alternative to their junky offerings. http://www.khaosodenglis
  14. Not in my experience. The regular taxis at the departure queue had (last time I used them) a flat rate, all inclusive, 1500 baht fee. It's so much more convenient than schlepping luggage to the parking area with a driver arriving by appointment...also, those drivers are frequently damned hard to find at the "meeting point" of the day. For me, it's just so much more convenient to just grab a cab.
  15. And if you use Agoda from this board's link, the forum gets some commission to help pay for licenses and other costs.
  16. I haven't seen the 90 day reporting link working since last December, though I've checked it periodically. I read elsewhere, and tend to believe, that the site is down and not being fixed. Has anyone had any luck with online reporting lately?
  17. Well, Season 5 of "The Americans" has aired now, and this review from the NYT has some very complimentary things to say about the series and this season's first episode. I'm including the initial part of a fairly long review... Given the news today, the first two paragraphs are a hoot.
  18. Actually, I mentioned Designated Survivor in the last part of my post. It's entertaining and I'm anxiously awaiting the return from the seasonal hiatus. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  19. As a died-in-the-wool "24" fan, I was looking forward (skeptically to some extent) to the reboot of "24:Legacy" this last month. It's similar to 24 in the staging of the scenes, the out-of-the-blue twists that defy credibility, the split screen multiple threads that one hopes will sometime join in some coherent fashion. These gimmicks worked for 24 because it was new, Kiefer Sutherland was charismatic and just had that "something". The new protagonist just doesn't have it. The plot overshadows the characters so much that you hardly know who they are and why they are doing anything. I watch
  20. Some of the references to their lives reflects so well the zeitgeist of the time...this carries on into later seasons just as well. At one point, the couple start going to EST, which I hadn't heard mentioned in decades. Clips of Reagan's speeches highlight how much fear and distrust from the Soviet point of view they caused when you see their side. I just love this show...been anxiously waiting for each successive season. Season 5 starts next week!
  21. Didn't know you weren't there. You were unavailable to post the pictures, esp if you weren't there! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  22. Gordon Ramsey visits Thailand for a week to learn Thai cooking at the master level. It's long, but you might find it entertaining.
