  1. Yeah, I heard last night on the "Invitation Only" night, they had touts out front inviting people in.
  2. Well, I use torrents to download movies to a USB 500G drive. I could just (a) use a networked drive on that box instead or ( unplug my torrent drive and move it to the box for viewing or © network copy my torrent downloads to an attached usb drive on the box. I think I like ©, since having a drive on the box allows time shifting/recording from UBC. You really use VHS tapes?
  3. I've been interested in one of these gadgets http://www.snatech.com/index.php?tpid=0136&pgid=index Use Google Translate to get the drift of what it does. They are selling for 7000b around Thailand. You can hook it up to your TV as an output, input from a Satellite or Cable Box (UBC) for recording/viewing, supports network sharing for files on your home network, can be configured with a USB or ESATA hard drive.
  4. Ok, I have tracked a few topics, and now my email is full of messages about the replies to the topics I tracked. It might depend on the email options you chose. I chose "Immediate" delivery whenever a topic is replied to. From what I can see, it works fine. If you're not getting the emails, check the email address you set with the board software, then make sure you are not having all the emails sent to the spam/junk pit.
  5. I'll be going out to wait for the postman now.
  6. Very nice. Good move on the long shutter speed.
  7. I had a little experiment to test tracking, but no email arrived, so it might be broken. I'll be looking into it then.
  8. So you got one?
  9. Well, damn. Here it is the 17th, and no invitation has arrived. It must have gotten lost in the mail.
  10. I've heard nothing but good things about this hotel. Everyone I have talked to who stays there is a big fan.
  11. Next is to get him to pop the tab on the beer without spilling any.
  12. Amazing!
  13. That's rough, lovedog. Keep us informed of your progress in getting better. This is a good warning to pay attention to. Now I don't feel so bad about hardly ever going out during the day time.
  14. Go to this page http://www.pattayapages.com/residence/ and click NEXT at the bottom of the page a few times, and you will get the booking form that gets you the discounted FLB rate, Book on this site and you get: One complimentary dinner at the Captain's Corner All-You-Can-Eat BBQ (food only) per room. Stay for 7 nights or more and receive a complimentary taxi to the Airport (request for taxi must be made at time of room booking) It also sends the request to the correct email.
  15. Damn! I watched the whole thing. Now I am depressed.
  16. We say "ass over teakettle"...probably trying to clean it up.
  17. Everything you reported is true!
  18. See, that's your parochial attitude to language showing. According to all sources I have checked, it's mainly used in the UK. Google it if you don't believe me, and show us where it's a primarily Aussie word. Come on, you Brits, put this Aussie/Teuton in his place. Gonzo, it seems every time I make a comment about the language we all share, in some ways, usually as an observer and commentator, you come out and make an argument about it. What's up with that, dude? Maybe you should smoke a fag, and relax.
  19. I wonder how you quantify "used more often"? Since this is an issue of spelling and its frequency of use, a simple google search for "whingeing" yielded 143,000 results, where a search for "whinging" yielded 462,000 results. Of those 143,000 results, probably 100K of them are people asking "is it whingeing or whinging"? Edit in - I just had a browse through that dictionary site, and have to conclude it's not very complete. I couldn't find "indicate" as a translation for "signal" when used while driving a car. I think "indicate" means "signal" , because one night, while arriving late in some English town and looking for our lodgings using a street map, I had to make a sudden turn to follow my irritated wife's directions, and a car came honking (or is that "hooting"?) its horn at me, while the driver leaned out the window and yelled "Indicate! Indicate!". On second thought, maybe it means "wanker".
  20. Hard to believe it was her, and if so, it is simply amazing.
