So far, I've had zero problems with purchases on aliexpress. Obviously, I've been lucky. All of my purchases have been for inexpensive items I couldn't find here in Pattaya. I agree with jacko...it's just easier than trying to find something locally.

Aliexpress does sell from individual sellers, much like Ebay, but they have Buyer Protection on every item that I order. The buyer is not paid until I receive the product and confirm that it is what I expected and it works as claimed. I will look at Banggood...never heard of it, but sounds promising.

Aliexpress ( http://www.aliexpress.com/ ) which I also use, has a much bigger selection than lazada, but it takes anywhere from 10 to 30 days for me to receive the item via postal mail. Also, I note the ebay.com now has consolidated their sellers' international delivery into a central service that can ship most things anywhere in the world. Prior to that, as far as I recall, the shipping was done by the seller, and most didn't want to bother with international shipments. I have yet to order anything from ebay to Thailand, but it's nice to know it's available now with its much larger selection of goods.

I think these are for vacationing in parks and out of the way places, so cheap accommodation isn't really an issue. I know you lived in one, as you said, in the UK for years, but someone wanting to holiday in national forests or out of town areas to be closer to nature, would find one of these worthwhile, and wouldn't be thinking of them as permanent homes. Totally different motives for their use.

If you're living in Thailand, lazada (http://www.lazada.co.th/ ) is a very good choice for internet shopping. I just ordered an aircon remote replacement unit on Friday and it was delivered today, Monday. I wish they had a larger selection of items, but for what they do carry, the order to delivery times are very short.

No idea why you'd single out Europeans. Lots of other groups, including your countrymen use sleep aids when flying. Probably Ambien is the drug of choice for most.I've learned through experience after suffering from periodic insomnia recently, that Ambien tends to make me sleep walk, essentially the same behaviour the FA is pointing out. I've had some pretty harrowing experiences with it, to the point where I'll not take it unless I am truly desperate to sleep. This article gives me something to think about if I consider using it on a flight.

There is that persistent problem with going to pattayatalk.com/forums via Google search and getting redirected to url4short.info, which is malicious. I have done everything in my power short of a complete reinstall of the forum and all data to eliminate this problem, but it keeps getting reinfected. So, Opera is right in a way, and if you want to access the forum, DO NOT ACCESS IT FROM A GOOGLE SEARCH. Use the direct URL http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums instead.

As I understand it, the poster using the "spankys bar soi diamond" user id is the manager of the Pattaya Soi Diamond Spankys..so unless the Bangkok manager or whatever is posting the responses, you two are talking about 2 different venues. Hence, my confusion.

There's a code you can send to AIS to confirm you are registered, isn't there? Did you do that to verify you were in the system now?

Not sure what the UK guys have to do with this, but yes, from what I could glean from the site, I was too late to report online. Now the online reporting site appears to be offline (HTTP 404) so I can't re-read the instructions that led me to believe that.
